Massive 20GB Intel IP Data Breach Floods the Internet, Mentions Backdoors (Intel Responds)

Till Kottmann, a Swiss IT consultant, posted on Twitter a link to a file sharing service today that contains what an anonymous source claims is a portion of Intel's crown jewels: A 20GB folder of confidential Intel intellectual property. The leaker dubbed the release the "Intel exconfidential Lake Platform Release ."

 

Wow,Intel is not having a good 2020. I can hear AMD's giggles from here.

Not just 2020, they've been having a bad time since Ryzen released. I don't think there are very many people still buying Intel CPUs for custom builds unless they're going for 9900Ks. Then again, I don't really know how much money Intel was getting from these people anyway compared to OEMs that buy hundreds of thousands of CPUs from them.

wow, I almost feel sorry for Intel (almost...). The trouble really started under the previous senior leadership (including a lot of stock sales by the then-boss, then his resignation for a consensual affair - which almost looked like a 'cover story')

lol,what I love is I ran across 1 story where Intel is saying they're investigating the validity of the data breach. "Nothing to see here! Nobody has their vaseline so JUST MOVE ALONG!"

I was happy when I saw AMD overtake Intel on the stock price, nice to see AMD doing so well after all this time.
