  1. Thanks for the replies. 1. I'm not saying I have an "unlimited" budget per say, but I want hardware that will get done what I need without a lot of compromises. 2. I have many use cases, along with gaming, I like to play around with unreal engine, I plan on doing some video editing also. 3. Time isn't of importance, my thought is if I'm not really gaining significant performance I can buy at EOL for less $$$ possibly. 4. I do not have a preference, I am more concerned with performance and reliability. 5. I don't think with the type of PC I plan on building that power consumption is a significant factor. 6. I love to overclock, if I can have a stable clock and get everything done while doing it, It will happen.
  2. I apologize for the "should I wait?" post. I haven't had a desktop PC for a while here and I want to build a high end PC for gaming, tinkering and everything inbetween. I recently started looking at hardware again and I believe AM4 is pretty much dead, as far as new CPU's so any advice? Should I wait for next generation? Should I consider Intel? I appreciate any opinions, advice or criticism.
  3. If this is true, it sounds exciting. What's a 5nm process going to do to heat concentration on the cpus? I'll be interested to see.
  4. Awesome! Aside from all the haters I loved my 8320! Im looking forward to this one!
  5. I may have found a decent deal on an I7 6700k combo, with a z170 board, that should be good right?
  6. I'm hoping thats the case, there isnt much out there in the HEDT market right now... ?
  7. What gpu's are you using with that cpu?
  8. I plan on getting a 3080 minimally when they become more readily available. Eventually I would Like 2 of them
  9. What about 3 if I end up delving that deep into this? Sorry, I have zero experience with multiple gpu's. Thanks
  10. I understand PPD of cpu's is negligible. Should I just grab whatever cpu/motherboard for a dedicated folding rig? I plan on running at least 2 gpu's on the build. Thanks in advance
  11. Honestly, I can't say I blame them. At the end of the day they need to make $$$. Its unfortunate for us gamers who are struggling to find gpu's. Even then bots and scalpers would probably still be causing issues for supply.
  12. Dust filtration will be huge, I also plan to run this 24/7. Great info, thank you
  13. I'm planning on a high budget for this one....wish Caselabs was still around. Thanks for these suggestions, I'll check them out. For as much as this is a great fit for what I'm looking for, I cannot support this company just on principle. Please don't take that as a criticism on your pick though. Thanks for the reply.
  14. I plan on starting a dedicated Folding @ Home pc build within the next few months. My biggest struggle, aside from finding any reasonable priced gpus, is finding a decent case. I will be using a custom loop on this build, I plan on having 2 x 360mm radiators. Can anyone suggest a case that will accommodate the radiators that I plan on using, and is enjoyable to work in? Thanks in advance
