Thanks for the technical response.  I should of been more clear: From an operational standpoint, how they will manage the transition and what impacts there are to their engagement and subsequently, their financials. E.g., Overwatch -> Overwatch 2, CS:GO -> CS2.

Any business worth their salt would already be lean enough in terms of internal processes to easily transition between such changes, one that's especially into tech. I'd even bet they'd be making more than what they did with the last iteration of GTAO

I am more curious, from a financial perspective, how they will handle the transition of GTA Online. That’s reoccurring revenue paying for their current operations. Obviously you want to approach that transition as smoothly as possible to sustain the revenue.

It's an online service seperate from where ever they show their game sales on their IS and regardless of where you report, rules or principles based, you book the sale when your obligation ends and in this case, they'll report income from GTO V when the user redeems the service and will not book the income for GTO VI until redeemed by the user which will be after release.

Was it just a rumor before? Never knew this.

It never was. It was somewhat highly publicized when Su became CEO circa '17. AMD's subR had newspieces about it. I just don't get why now after all these years, again.

According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple's software engineering and services teams are making massive changes to Apple's platform to allow "alternative" app stores. This would allow customers to download applications to their iPhone or iPad outside of Apple's control (and 30% commission). This represents a huge change in Apple's App Store policies as it tries to comply with recent EU legislation.

    Looks like Epic won.

You did in the posts I am replying to.

Claiming something like Apple has a $2.2T market cap due to them being a desirable brand and not because they're "not doing as much business as Amazon or Microsoft" is wilful ignorance in this day and age. Especially when it comes to publicly trading companies.

It's okay to admit that you are wrong about something. In fact, it's actually better to just admit you're wrong about something that just moving the goal posts for "what you actually meant" in order to say you are right.

I did not. I clearly mentioned that the only reason Apple has a market cap is because it's a desirable brand, along with their margins, the later of which you ignored.

In my later posts, I clearly said that unless Apple sells 2million + apps and iphones a day, Apple is smaller in business than Microsoft, much less Amazon. Which you ignored again.

But It's ok. For someone to ignore the key concept of "margins" and then construct a soapbox to argue in and then get on their high horse about how someone is wrong....I get that. Wouldn't have expected anything less.

$3.6 billion as of 1st of Jan 2020, or $9,863,013 per day. That's just from apps. Doesn't include any hardware sales. Their revenue for 2020 was $274.5 billion, or $752,054,794 per day.

Who spoke about $ value of transaction? I already told Apple is a desirable brand with big margins. The 2million + figure is transactions that happen just on the Amazon Store daily.

Clarity on what I posted. Unless Apple is selling 2 million apps & phones each day, your assumption is still wrong.

APPL's market capitalization is 2.4 trillion dollars.Think about how massive Amazon is and how much business they do. APPL is double that.

Apple's market cap is due to how desirable the brand is and the margins they get on their products. I can't complete a digital transaction without said company utilizing many of Amazon's service. Can't say the same about Apple. Comparing paper value of both of their stock, Apple may be twice that of Amazon, but in terms of the business they do, Apple doesn't compare with Microsoft much less Amazon.
