It pretty hard to get the good software and that work. I was happy that it worked with my 5560u aka 5600g but it was luck. I was able to overide the tdp limit and reach the power supply limit.

Try UXTU software i had good result on my 5600g. No idea if your supported but maybe.

Xmg probably are Clevo based. There many reseller. Xotic Pc / Northwest Falcon / Origin PC / sager / eurocom. Only issue is part. An alienware you can replace everything. Those you cant because no part in stock anywhere. But yea they don't have any bloat crap like my asus armoury garbage thing. Laptop had 8-10h battery life when new and after a reinstall max 5h because the asus crap don't even work correctly.

The fact that your 6900xt is jerkier at 8k hdr 60fps just prove that amd tried to save money as usual. And for driver. Never had any driver issue with all my nvidia gpu. Meanwhile amd there always something somewhere that bug out. Something often dumb and meaningless. Like my display swapping back to 60hz from 120hz. Probably because i turn off the display with the remote and when it turn back on the gpu default to 60hz.

I think it like a partial support. But the hardware part is too weakly designed. Anyways i got other issue am exhausted of amd. The Fan setting that reset when the driver crash. And the 120hz setting always reverting to 60hz after a while for no reason. I would not recommend amd anymore.

Am sure this cooler is a test for a 4090ti so i got faith!

Mobile chip naming is a bit a nightmare on intel side. Amd 5600-6600 are 6 core while 5800h 5900hx 6900hx are all 8 core zen 3. I don't think they have any zen 4 out for the top end. It was leaked 16 core could be available in 2023 but no update since. I5 12500h-12600h-13500-13600h all are 4 p-core 8 e-core design with ht. It slower than a ryzen 5900hx-6900hx in most multithreaded task but can probably beat it in singlethreaded task. 12700h-12900h / 13700h-13900h Top of the line chip with 14 core. 6 p-core and 8 e-core. Beat ryzen easily if thermal are good. 13th gen upgrade from 12th gen is a worthy upgrade. Meanwhile ryzen chip mostly perform all the same.

I would aim for 3080/6800m or newer 4070/amd newer lineup. Looking at the current desktop 4060ti i don't imagine how bad the 4050/4060 mobile would be in a few years. I would not trust that. 8gb is an issie for 1440/4k. But the 3050 mobile is a 1080p card. I ran vr on a 3gb 1050 mobile and on a 1050ti mobile 4gb without issue.
