Don't know why he wants to buy that cesspool....other than just wanting to 'stick it' to the snowflakes.

A 4u Rosewill Rackmount Server chassis is probably the only thing that's intended to sit flat, in that price range, and fit those coolers. But double check the cooler heights first .

lol, Some of these aren't TOO bad, but some are just a waste....
17 ridiculous 'smart' gadgets that really exist

In the tech industry's quest to make everything connected, more than a few "smart" gadgets aren't quite solving everyday problems.I was given the Furbo dog cam, from that list, for christmas. I've never taken it out of the box. Hell if I'm going to set up a spying device in my house.

To be fair, the REALLY bad offender I was originally thinking of when I ran into Blue Jeans was "Coconut Audio". Website's gone now, but back in the day that troll really did have a fully functioning checkout system. Not sure how many people fell for the scam. I remember banning Patrick off OCN several times for trying to sell his garbage. I mistakenly thought it was Blue Jeans. Could've sworn Blue Jeans was spamming OCN at one point too, but I could be wrong its been years.
Again, they're not THAT bad, but they're far more expensive than cables really should cost if somebody shops around. Just like Monster. Idk, I usually default to Parts Express and Monoprice usually. Amazon basics too. Copper wire is copper wire. *shrugs Obviously analogue wires require certain things in certain scenarios, but yeah.
Back in the day Blue Jeans was recommended by Audioholic's for being snake oil free. That's where I heard of Blue Jeans...I used to visit that site everyday....I bought my Ascend Acoustics Sierra 1's because of that site.

Dude...... Beldon 5T00UP is $2.25 per foot at Blue Jeans.
Parts Express sells the same stuff for $1.79 / foot, or $143 for 100ft of it.

Belden 5T00UP 10 AWG 2C Cable Hi-Flex In-Wall Speaker Wire CL2 Per ft. USA. Part Number: 102-1190 by Belden. You're paying more just to buy it from a snake oil salesman at Blue Jeans. They make their money off selling their "ultra sonic welding" and their "color print out sheets". There's been people that have paid thousands of dollars for cables at that company, and had absolutely zero discernable difference from regular lamp cord. They're just as bad or worse than monster cable.
You can even buy the stuff cheaper than Blue Jeans on Amazon.....
Note the description: "We can cut to any length"
https://www.amazon.com/Belden-5T00UP-Cable-Hi-Flex-Speaker/dp/B00CWEND4C
I will admit, that they're not AS BAD when looking at their raw materials though. But their assembled cables, a lot of them (not all) are absolute snake oil.
Now a days their prices are a little high...but it's a husband and wife run company that probably doesn't sell in large volume. Back when I bought from them, Amazon wasn't what it is today.
I don't like the ultra sonic welding thing...but other than that there is no other market jargon or what I would consider snake oil. They list what brand of wire they are using and where it's made.

You can buy these ready made on Alibaba
Well considering the site that's selling them....along with Aliexpress....it's a given that it's useless junk.

That looks like something my mother would buy me from QVC.

While it's a bit more involved than pulling a small block out of a pre-80's vehicle, it's actually pretty easy to pull the motor on these cars. I've pulled at least 10 EJ's, and the way the motor is designed, nearly everything can stay attached and the whole thing comes out. It is pretty much as simple as
- Remove hood
- Disconnect and remove battery
- Remove intercooler
- Disconnect fuel lines
- Disconnect and pull radiator
- Remove A/C and PS belts
- Disconnect down pipe from turbo
- Disconnect main harness
- Disconnect misc. other wiring harnesses
- Unbolt pitch-stop
- Disengage clutch
- Unbolt A/C compressor and PS Pump and flip them out of the way
- Remove the 6 bellhousing to block bolts
- Remove 2 engine mount nuts
Personally without a lift, I think it is faster and easier to yank the motor when replacing the clutch, since there is probably some other mainteneace to be done that will be easier with the motor out like: plugs, timing belt, water pump, etc. This motor has been out of the car twice. Once for a new clutch, and once to do the head gaskets.
All in it's 1-1/2 to 2 hours to pull the motor.
You make it sound so easy. But I'll stick to my small block V8's. Everything has easy access. It's been over 20 years since I had anything that wasn't a V8.

I can only imagine how horrific it will be to pull that engine. There is no room and there's so much crap to get out of the way. The only engine I've ever pulled was the 350 I had in my 1968 Camaro....the engine compartment is huge and there aren't many accessories so it was easy.

RTX 4080 12GB features 7,680 CUDA cores
RTX 4080 16GB fratures 9,728 CUDA cores
Why do they do this????? They both shouldn't be called 4080's. It all started with the 8800 GTS (512mb) and 8800 GTS (320mb). The two GPU's weren't on the same nodes and had nothing in common other than both being an 8800 GTS.
As for the prices, with inflation at a 40 year high, it was to be expected.

If they genuinely are no longer going to sell GPU's, and they aren't going to move into other product segments, expanding their motherboard business is my theory.

They should just give up on the naming. It's all USB C anyway.

IKR! I havent heard that sound since i was a child.
(After looking to find out what the hell IKR means)
I still hear the sound on a regular basis. One of the electrical supply stores that I buy material from still uses a dot matrix to print out receipts.
A dot matrix printer came with my first computer, that I got for Christmas back in 1988. I used that printer until 2004...with the original ink ribbon....try doing that with an Ink Jet. Even though I no longer have the printer, I have a leftover stack of pin feed paper on my desk that I use for writing down notes...sure...it's 20 years old and a little yellow...but it's still perfectly good paper.

Looks like there may be a dot matrix printer in there under a keyboard.

Okay crossovers are fixed. Here is a bass test with my cheap tablet so it's not picking up the noise very accurately, but you should still get the point. I go to the third floor of this house and it's still shaking the windows. Between 40s and 44s mark there is a really loud email alert that comes through, so be aware of that. But definitely turn the bass up so you can get an idea of what it sounds like. That's the reason I started at the top of the stairs, because the entire staircase acts like a giant subwoofer. Both subs have secondary enclosures / resonators for maximum performance.
If you're going to play Black Label Society, you gotta play Funeral Bell.

What I liked was while the test was running it showed my gpu speed & temps in real time which let me see that my OC's were still working/saved even with the EVGA software off. My temps were nice for my air cooled setup using 99% of the gpu's ability with processor, and memory OC's on it.
I don't know if the Linux version or Vulkan test doesn't show that or if it wasn't shown since I ran it through Phoronix Test Suite so I could send the results to Openbenchmarking.org. It only showed fps.

Finally, a GPU benchmark other than Heaven and Superpostion that's Linux native....oh and it can be used with Phoronix Test Suite for uploading results to OpenBenchmarking.org
Heres my run using Phoronix Test Suite. This was my second attempt. My first was trying Vulkan Ray Tracing which didn't work with AMD on Linux.
Here is my result uploaded to Openbenchmarking.org. I've included the system logs for anyone that wants to look at them. Not sure if the CPU was boosting correctly, the scaling_available_frequencies log only shows 3700 and 2200. But I don't know if the log just shows base clock or boost clock. I guess I'll have to run it again with MangoHUD running.

Its so ridiculous! I want one. -_-
This thing has more cache memory onboard than my first computer had RAM. I'm actually USING a computer right now for ripping my old CD wallet collection, and it also has less RAM than this thing has cache. 192 threads on it......just, wow. Could run ALL the VM's.
My first computer only had 640k of ram...(not counting the family Apple ][ that had 64k that wasn't "mine").....so every computer in the last couple decades has more cache than my first.

Did you power cycle the monitor? My Gsync Alienware monitor doesn't like AMD GPU's. About 90% of the time when the monitor sleeps, I have to pull the power cord out of the back of the monitor, hold the power button for about 10 seconds, then plug the cord back in for the monitor to wake up. I had to do it with my Radeon VII on my Ryzen 1 system and I still have to do it with my 6900XT on my Ryzen 3 system. But it works fine if I put my 1070ti back in.

Yea but like a said power supply have capacitor. The 2600w peak come from them not from the grid. I think? No?
Ive seen 2000w on my kill a watt and a melted 120volt wall plug. No fire
2000W is 16.6 Amps, unless you're plugged into a 20 Amp outlet on a 20 Amp circuit, you might want to unplug something. The breaker and the outlet can handle spikes above it's rating, but it shouldn't be continuous.

What are your three top-fav old motherboards you still own and/or use ?

One of mine:
ASRock EP2C602 SSI
The only thing better than a MB with 2 sockets would be one with 4.
