  1. Yeah I should probably start reading up on how to even OC on AMD because I do not even know. It was pretty simple on the 4790k - but was sadly a bad overclocker.
  2. I totally forgot about Jom Breuer doing those impressions.
  3. And back to the Blitz part 2 run in the bathroom... I did manually clean the Optimus block.
  4. Yeah, I'm tearing down as I write this and its not fun...
  5. The two bottles of Mayhems XT-1 Nuke I ordered arrived today and look to be perfect, no particles floating around. I also emailed MMM support to see what they say about the Mod Water. I still need to grab some more distilled water to re-clean the loop, but alas, difficult to find around here for some reason. There is one store I can usually find a couple of gallons (which is all I should need) that I'll be by later today or tomorrow. I think I have enough on hand still to make another batch of Blitz Part 2 tonight and get that going at least. EDIT: Just got a call from MMM, they stated they had some bad batches from the Mayhems switchover when Mick stepped down with the additive packs, and that likely is what my bottles are from. Since they don't serialize the bottles, was hard to track who got what when they fixed the issue. They have assured me that those initial pains from the Mayhems transition are resolved and are sending me 3 new bottles of Mod Water clear. Huge props to MMM for the quick response. They also asked if I needed a Blitz kit, but as I already have one, said I was good there.
  6. Oh just saw Avocado cover that, so added my $0.02 on D5. Anyway, yeah high flow will not hurt your performance. Have fun.
  7. Exactly - unless you are really lacking in radiators, the heat from a D5 shouldn't be anything to worry about really. I am not saying you should necessarily set to 100%, in fact I don't recommend that unless you need to for flow reasons. Basically there definitely is a point of diminished returns on where more flow will give you more cooling performance, but less flow will always hurt your cooling. In your thinking that less flow gives more time in the radiator for dissipation, you have to think the exact opposite is happening on any of the blocks on heat generating parts which will just more easily saturate the loop with heat. You have to remember that overall a loop equalizes and the mechanism by which heat is removed from the blocks and dissipated by the rads is via the constant flow through both continually facilitating heat transfer and dissipation respectively. Slow that down and now you are hurting that mechanism.
  8. Having worked in the energy sector before (I don't anymore and am happy about that), its very volatile. In 2020 one company I worked for as recently as 2014 layed off 25% of its workforce. 2 years later and here we are.
  9. You'd think but the gas stations themselves are very low margin. Gotta be the oil companies for the $$$.
  10. Nothing special, but been good to me here in CO. She turned 9 In January. Pic is from a couple years ago when I had the snow tire set on. Please excuse the glare. I then have this planned for sometime this month:
  11. Ditto. I also should have just stopped filling it the second I noticed something, but part of me thought, "oh maybe the pump will mix it up". Honestly was just ready to be done with this prolonged project PC. Current plan is to rip everything back out (not sure I am going to take the block off the GPU though) and run a bathroom loop to Blitz part 2 it again and then do subsequent flushes. I want to be thorough. Also need to take the CPU block off and probably clean it manually first. The GPU block by comparison does not have as small a jet plate and microfin structure, so I don't see any gunk stuck in it. Really not sure about the radiators.
  12. Don't you need a distiller, or is there a MacGyver way to do it?
  13. I finished draining the loop tonight. There seems to be approximately 150ml of fluid left in the loop, I'm guessing stuck in the rads at this point. Will be doing a very thorough flushing and a blitz part 2 run when I get some more distilled water. Anyway, here's what the drained fluid looks like. I think a lot of the big particles either broke up or lodged in the Optimus block which appears very gunked up. But you can still see some floaties. For comparison the second image is another bottle after vigorous shaking and it's full of this gunk too.
  14. Not computer related, but these arrived today for another project (learning to do my brakes with a buddy):
  15. I agree. These are way too little, too late at this stage. Best to just use it to get the software right for the next gen to hopefully be ready for primetime. Intel completely blew their timing and opportunity with this one.
  16. I found one store that seems to regularly stock it (but usually doesn't have much on shelf at a time), while the rest around here have been out of distilled ever since I made this thread. No idea what's going on around here then.
  17. I bought a bottle of that once and it was all separated. Cryofuel doesn't really have a good reputation. That said, if you saw my other thread, basically the problem I had with my ModMyMods Mod Water I tried to fill my system with yesterday, so will see how this Mayhems XT-1 turns out.
  18. Me too. I am thinking probably just a bad patch in all honesty. I'm sure it happens from time to time, but definitely disappointing. Will see what the actual Mayhems stuff looks like when it gets here.
  19. Yeah, very familiar with that post. I knew MMM was based off XT-1 going into it. However, I believe MMM is actually made in-house and not by Mayhems. My understanding was that Mick showed MMM how to make it. Bottle says made in the USA and not the UK. I just ordered a couple of bottles of clear XT-1 off PPCs this morning, so will see how they look. When I get a chance later today, going to take some additional pictures and email MMM to see what they say.
  20. I don't really buy off eBay very often, but it really is more that states are enforcing sales tax on online sales now vs anything else really. Here in CO, they started enforcing that in 2018 where as prior to that year all online sales were not taxed. This isn't really eBay's fault, or on them to absorb. One could make the argument that if you are buying something used that its already been taxed and this is a double-dip. Sadly that is true of many types of taxes.
  21. Shipping was kind of outrageous, but what is one to do?
  22. Yes I do, and plan to do so later today after work. I drained back into the coolant bottle. Also have the other bottle I opened and discovered to have the same issue. Have a third bottle I haven't opened yet, but same date as the other two so expecting the same thing. Also will need to make a run for distilled water (something that is difficult to source around here), going to Blitz 2 the loop again I think, then flush it.
