  1. I liked season 1 better than 2, also a huge TNG fan. Season 2 is a mess.
  2. Yep this is true. Just not sure since OP mentioned wanting low-profile cards.
  3. Now that's what I call retro gaming.
  4. Sigh...I really gotta find a new browser. I used to hate Firefox because it was slower than molasses, but to be fair that was also like 16 years ago. These days Chrome is just a big memory leak, so I don't know.
  5. Naw, threw out the box of random assorted trash disks a few years back. Somehow a couple of AOL disks were in there, not really sure why as we never used AOL.
  6. Nice haul! But no AOL disks from 1997?
  7. Correct, a 1650 would have NVENC support. I believe you will have to doublecheck models for the 1650 as I believe the first ones used the Volta encoder whereas later ones used Turing, if that matters to you.
  8. Slowly coming together. I think the tube going from the meter to the bottom rad is slightly too tall, so will have to cut it a bit more, but slowly coming together. I am finding bending to not be all that hard to do, but the measuring is difficult to get exactly right.
  9. Oh man, that's a treasure trove, nice find!
  10. Yeah. AMD really didn't do anyone any favors with the 6400 and 6500 XT missing features like this. Seemed like a last minute decision to put something, anything on the market at that price point. These are definitely not really meant to be desktop GPUs and it shows. Maybe see if there are any 5500 XT low profile cards around. Don't quote me on it, but I think these support VCE.
  11. Both the 6400 and the 6500 XT were laptop chips meant for APU's repurposed for desktop. I imagine not.
  12. Had to tear out all the rads to mount the pump/reservoir and while I was at it, I completely redid all the cable management in the back. It's not great, but will work. I kinda wish these SW3 had a daisy chain feature, but that's ok. All the cables go in the back. Also got my rotary fittings for top radiator and the 12-pin cable in today. Anyway got it all refitted so the only thing next to do is to start bending some tubes.
  13. Correct. To answer the OP's initial question of compatibility...sure its technically compatible, but you will be bottlenecking new 7000-series GPUs for sure and at least losing some performance by being only PCI-E 3.0. I'd seriously look at just upgrading to a 5600/5600X for cheap if your motherboard supports 5000-series Zen 3 chips and PCI-E 4.0.
  14. Agreed. Now if it doesn't take off, then I might have other thoughts, but this is definitely a better motive.
  15. They usually use UPS for me in CO and it's usually not fast for the default shipping. Like I can order on a Monday and maybe it gets here Friday or Saturday type of thing.
  16. Well heard back from PPCs today. I emailed shipping yesterday afternoon after the order went a whole additional day of "processing", which it is still in by the way. They said I had missed the cutoff for the shipping option I selected. I then said well, regardless it's still in processing all of Tuesday and Wednesday and today is Thursday, so unless it is going out today and gets here by Saturday, its going to get here too late for me to do anything this weekend (I had chosen a USPS 2-day shipping option on Tuesday). So if it doesn't ship in the next hour based on your cutoff time for that shipping option, just switch me to free shipping at this stage. Will see what happens. Edit: Guess there was a mixup. They are going to make sure it ships today and will be doing UPS 2-day with a Saturday delivery. So think we are good! Can continue working the build this weekend. They also said in thee future that the USPS option was probably not a good one to choose as they have been "unreliable" and longer than it says, so I will keep that in mind for the future.
  17. Man, that's a classic. Similar vibes for sure.
  18. Yikes. Feels like Fermi all over again, just amped up to eleven. Sure Fermi was faster, but the 5870 was close enough for much less power draw. Are we really back to that? Also, I feel like this wouldn't be a Titan RTX replacement, only because I doubt workstation and professional users are interested in 900-watt TGP cards. That doesn't make any sense to me. I could see them calling this a 4090 Ti though, because the demographic who'd buy such a card wouldn't care.
  19. Yep makes sense. I spoke with the mod department and they confirmed it as being off the shelf of which they had "18 in stock" of. So need to figure out what's holding up the order.
  20. Hello! Just wanted to mention been working on this, progress is being made, and I love the readability plug-ins, have already done some re-works of my first drafts of what is written so far to make that much better. I tend to be very verbose in my first drafts and then have to refine it down to easily read. Such a great tool there. Went from bad too good. Anyway, I have a question. From the resource you provided E, I saw there is a gallery of images available to use. Is it appropriate to use images from there just to spice up the article a bit. I know in the reviews, people are taking and using their own images, but I don't exactly have the setup to do so for everything covered in the cooling article. I was thinking it would be nice to add some images for each section talking about air cooling, AIOs, watercooling, thermal throttling, cases/fans, etc. Basically so the whole article isn't a wall of text. Thanks.
  21. Awesome, will do, thanks! Edit: Emailed. Wasn't clear if that was an off the shelf custom part or something they made custom after ordering. I get the sense its the latter. In which case I wonder if they can split my order and send the fittings. Will see what they say.
