  1. https://techcrunch.com/2020/06/16/ap...obe-in-europe/ Maybe the Apple Fanboys will start getting equal pricing across the apps....
  2. say what U want about Windows, but I'm running the Windows Insider Program on a Dell Dimension 3100 from 2006 and just put the Windows 10 2004 update on it.:pOnly changes I've made to the machine were to up the ram to 3Gb and to add a video card.(I cut the Pci-e X1 slot so an x16 card would fit and it worked, card upgrade cost=under $10.00 and ram I had sitting around.) Will the current Mac OS run hardware this far back?
  3. ROTFL Just wait 6-9 months after the release of the "3090Ti" and you'll be able to get a new 3090 Ti SUPER with water cooling for $75.00 more if they run this series like they did the 20xx series.
  4. lol, OUR board is faster! (It even makes you cpu burn out faster!)
  5. The part that gets me is that they do it with intel & amd boards, Intel looks the other way & still covers the cpu under the warranty, BUT amd has repeatedly asked the companies NOT to do this and WON'T cover the cpu under warranty if they determine it's from the board running it @ the constant over voltage. They will cover OC'ing, but NOT if the board is falsifying the voltages. The reason is it gives an over voltage even when idle so it's basicly running OC'd ANYTIME it's on,even in sleep or hibernate.
  6. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/ry...CkZOAcA_ZfjE9k (sigh) just what we need to worry about....
  7. lol, went from the old riva cards---> to ati---> to hd3450---> to all in wonder HD---> nvidia gt 610---> gt730---> HD5770---> GTX970---> RTX 2070 (I also bought a gtx 950 for my xeon build and a gtx 750ti for the wifes old tower for better video out put) Sadb part is I still have most of those except the 610 & 730.
  8. People allowed prices to be driven up during the mining craze and still bought @ that price because of the "lack of supply"that was convenient for the card makers if no one else.Does anyone REALLY see nvidia LOWERING prices other than in a war with amd(as in the current intel cpu situation)? Without a competitor undercutting them,it will always be "Charge all the market will bear!" and as long as people continue to purchase the newest release simply because it's "the NEWEST release" and not because they actually need an upgrade,Nvidia will continue the practice of all the buyer will bear.
  9. Next we'll be seeing ads saying "Will unlock your usb's 5g blocking ability for $79.95." or books on how to jailbreak your usb so it can block 5g.
  10. https://www.businessinsider.com/400-...sticker-2020-5 How can people actually buy these things without @ least checking them out? And the conspiracy freaks pour money into this but won't believe the true facts.
  11. I SHOULD add that most of what I see people asking about VPN's for @ my end is involved with streaming video. Unless your ISP has the app/program you're using blocked, then it's rarely needed for basic streaming.Add in 1 of the debrid services and you're even covered for streaming files that are torrents. Unfortunately ALOT of the youtube people are funded by vpn services so they give the impression that a VPN is NEEDED for streaming kodi. So @ least once a week on our pages we get someone asking "What VPN would you recommend I use to stream with..." When asked WHY they want a vpn it's always because they seem to think they NEED 1 to stream kodi safely,NOT because they are worried about their privacy or are doing anything else they'd need to worry about.
  12. Not using a VPN. Most of the free 1's will still give in to court orders for their records, even apples encryption isn't enough if the Govt. wants what U were doing bad enough so them encrypting records is useless.I just use my addons in the browser to block some trackers and Real Debrid for any questionable downloads I do. That way the download is going to THEIR servers and I just get it from there later. Haven't had a notice from my ISP since I started doing movie/music downloads that way. Everything else I stream and if I'm geo blocked,I can usually find what I want on kodi.
  13. my personal opinion is that if they expect to see multi gpu usage in rigs by peeps like me,they need to lower the price of the cards that can be run together. When I bought my RTX 2070,it was $600 after taxes and didn't support sli(the super the added support back in) while the RTX 2080 from EVGA is on sale for $800($50 off). My total build cost was roughly $1600 after taxes & a new OS. A pair of RTX 2080's are the same price as my whole rig,and God forbid I were to go with anything faster in sli. lol, Maybe a pair of Titans in sli @ $2490 a piece? Unless people are using the comp for work also or can easily afford it,I don't see sli making gains. My non super 2070 meets the rec specs for the game releases in 2020 that I'm interested in,it even meets half life alyx requirements.:thumbs_thumbsupup:
  14. "Unreal Engine 5 footage ran at 1440p 30 FPS on PS5" https://www.windowscentral.com/unreal-engine-5-footage-ran-1440p-ps5-features-no-ray-tracing I don't know about you,but I think the consoles (@ least sony) seem to still be having a hard time. the unreal video had no RTX in it,even though the ps5 supports it. What will resolution be reduced to if a game REALLY pushes the gpu with lots of RTX and tries for 60fps? 720p??
  15. Well, It seems Google is upping the anty... "The future Of Android Tv may look more like Amazon Fire Tv" TECHSPOT https://www.techspot.com/news/85130-future-android-tv-may-look-more-like-amazon.html Now,the question will be if they will allow the installation of Kodi from the Playstore on the device. If they do,it will mean some competition for the Firesticks in the compact form factor devices. If they keep the price in the same range,it may be very interesting come Christmas time when they're all out. If anyone has questions or wants to comment, feel free!
  16. I ran across this story & thought of your problems with this test. It's slight, but maybe part of the problem? Is windows seeing this as a game maybe? https://www.techspot.com/news/85137-windows-10-game-mode-negatively-impacting-gaming-performance.html
  17. lol, my latest purchase was yesterday, 2 KFC Classic mashed potato bowls.
  18. These new releases of cpus/gpus every year now are getting ridiculous. If they have a significant upgrade in performance than release something new.But don't release a new series for a whopping 10% increase like they have been on some of the gpu's. Same with the cpu's.
  19. lol,I started gaming on my comp late in life, I guess I'm more of a hybrid since I use my Logitech F710 to fulfill my needs. I just wish cd projekt red or GOG would remaster the first Witcher game with control support. Then life would be complete.
  20. Damn! If there wasn't a worry with the bios update not working, I'd be tempted to try it like I did the 771 Xeon to socket 775 mod.
  21. lol, the latest amd video cards I've owned are hd3450's and a hd5770 that came in my Dell & I replaced that with the GTX970. My Team red experience was slight,I based my Nvidia fandom on the fact they worked 4 me & the terrible performance of the 5770. I had a GT730 that pretty much matched the hd5770 performance wise. I've NO idea how the new amd cards are OC'ing but if they're starting to match the nvidia's @ base clocks, they may be my next choice in a card. Edit: Just a comparison 'tween the GT730 & the hd5770 "The GeForce GT 730 v2 MSI OC 1GB Edition has 384 Shader Processing Units and the Radeon HD 5770 1024MB has 800. However, the actual shader performance of the GT 730 is 386 and the actual shader performance of the HD 5770 is 340." "The GeForce GT 730 v2 MSI OC 1GB Edition requires 49 Watts to run and the Radeon HD 5770 1024MB requires 108 Watts."
