  1. Want to say THANKS! and in the interest of keeping things fair,Since I just won a case I'll skip the entry for the D Frame mini. I wish EVERYONE all the best! lol, I just told the wife"Where was my luck 12 months ago when I built the new computer? I guess I'll have to look @ building another..."
  2. Just an update, it's selling for the same price as the 1660ti and only 30 to 50 bucks more than the higher end 1660 supers. It's about 50 less than the rx 5700 and about 100 less than the rx 5700 xt on average. I found a video that shows some nice comparisons in actual game play between the 1660ti and the rx 5600 xt and the rx 5700. including a screenshot of some current prices...
  3. dang, wish nvidia would make up their mind. the 2070 DIDN'T support SLI, but the 2060,2070,&2080supers do, along with the 2080 & 2080ti:rolleyes: guess it's still up in the air.
  4. Sad times.. I get it though, the frametimes can be problematic. Lots of recent games (and basically all ID games) do not support SLI. It is really such a bad time to lose the "2x" performance if you can afford it option... We are a time where more than ever, we NEED all of the graphics muscle we can get. 4K/60 is nice but let's be honest we all really want 4K/120Hz or 144Hz and there is no single card even remotely close to doing that. Everyone is basically stuck at 1440p/1080p until GPUs catch up. We are already seeing 8K coming to market (waaaay too early) and even a 2080Ti would fall to it's knees unless it was @ 30fps... Seems like a bad time to "kill off" or not find/design ways to re-invent multi-GPU support... after all the latest APIs DX12 and Vulkan were both designed to provide new ways to utilize Multi-GPU support.. why go through all the work (years) to design and build it into the latest APIs just to kill it off before mainstream adoption. A bit odd I methinkx. The RTX cards are using NVLink instead of SLI and it'll be up to the games to have support for it in them.Seems like the game companies are just cutting as many corners as possible since more sales seem to go to consoles now adays.

  6. before U knock RGB fans, when they are free from the contest on here, you can't really complain... https://www.in-win.com/en/fans/aurora <--- what I won. Edit: If you're gonna be saving 4k/60fps video, I found the drives for you... lol.
  7. Dang! That's just sick! :thumbs_thumbsupup:
  8. Surprised the E.U. hasn't hit Google with a lawsuit yet. They hit microsoft with 1 for having Internet Explorer as the default browser and not offering a ver.of windows without it.Isn't Google doing the same type of thing? You could argue that, not sure why it has not been bought up yet within the EU, but I would imagine that if they carry on the practice (and can be proven) there would be some form of hearing. I kinda think microsoft got singled out, after all, haven't seen them chasing apple. "And Apple's iOS (mobile operating system) is an acknowledged disaster for Mozilla. Safari is the default and, while users can install other browsers, they come doubly hindered: they can never be set as the default, meaning any link clicked in other applications will open in Safari; and they must use Safari's rendering engine, a technical limitation that means that even the browsers that Firefox does have on the platform are technically just fancy wrappers for Apple's own browser, rather than full versions of the service that Mozilla has built over the decades."
  9. Hey bro, make a slide show vid of your pics, post on you youtube and post the video on here. :eat_popcom: you build vids are always fun to watch.(like your xeon build!)
  10. This just seems too embarrassing for Intel. https://www.tweaktown.com/news/69702...sds/index.html
  11. This fit's between the RX5500 XT and the RX5700 XT in performance & price range. (somewhere in direct competition price wise with the 1660ti) but it should be out performing the 1660ti. this is probably meant as a mid range price card and another attack on nvidia. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/am...r-with-vega-56 and if you look @ the screenshot, you'll see it out performs the 1660ti in firestrike.
  12. This might help explain why some are able to get it working but you're not even using the same methods. a quote from the article I'll link--->"the methods to use LDA Implicit or Explicit multi-GPU modes in Windows 7 and 8.1 are very different to Windows 10, which makes this a lot simpler to implement in the APIs that ship on them. The Windows Driver Development Model (WDDM) version 2.0 in Windows 10 powers this, because it plugs into everything to do with rendering graphics on your display" https://www.nag.co.za/2017/03/24/the-vulkan-api-will-allow-crossfire-and-sli-on-any-os-with-caveats/
  13. I updated my Time Spy so I could run the extreme test. lol, People who say that SLI is dead haven't seen these kinda results. Note the cpu is kinda close since U cut yours back to 8 cores for the test. But the dual 2080ti's just slaughtered my single 2070. Oh,if anyone's interested PC Mark 10 is on sale until Jan 2nd for $4.49 U.S.
  14. For those of us who have a twitch acct. we pretty much know that lots of the games offer free stuff during the major conventions (E3 for example) along with the main companies like sony, microsoft,& nintendo. Some may NOT be aware that they can link their twitch acct to amazon prime or amazon video accounts and get FREE stuff for games from AMAZON. Also,Amazon offers free games through twitch. The extra game content is available for PC or Console ver. of games in most cases. I'm including a shot of my twitch prime to give an idea.
  15. Just a heads up, Uplay is having a buy 2 get 1 free sale until the 1st. Just picked up another 3 of the Assassins Creeds games Syndicate & Origins Gold editions, and Odyssey was Ultimate for $67.
  16. (sighs) So many launchers, so many free games... Origin,Epic,GOG,Uplay,battle.net(when Bungie was tied to them),Steam I have games I've gotten free with purchases on all these and I'm with Enterprise, the little space the launcher yakes up is worth the game. Epic has new free games all the time. maybe not top line, but still free and U can keep them in the library on your acct untill U decide to install. when I bought my gtx970,I got Witcher3 on GOG and Batman Arkham Knight on Steam both free with the purchase.(1 from MSI & 1 from Nvidia) When I built the NEW system I got Anthem & it's on Origin.Edit: Here's my library on Epic. remember,. I haven't PAID for any of these. The batman games & The lego batman's were free to celebrate the anniversary of the series just for an example
  17. WAIT! There's MORE! https://www.pcgamer.com/a-fallout-76-hack-let-thieves-steal-players-inventories/ "There wasn't much anyone could do when targeted by the hack, though Bethesda claims only a small number of players have been affected and the exploit has now been fixed. The sneaky hack, which players were warned about on Reddit, let cheating players strip their fellow survivors of items. Aside from caps, scrip and a few other things, it apparently made your entire inventory vulnerable. A player also uploaded a of themselves doing the deed, rendering their victims confused and nude. " <--- Said video shows over 500 people being hacked by this 1 person, but Bethesda says "only a small number have been affected" While they released a patch, they knew the system was vulnerable since 11/2018 when something similar was reported to them.yet they did nothing 'till a real world attack happened & still haven't a clue what they will do for those effected.
  18. Surprised the E.U. hasn't hit Google with a lawsuit yet. They hit microsoft with 1 for having Internet Explorer as the default browser and not offering a ver.of windows without it.Isn't Google doing the same type of thing?
  19. It's pretty sad that browsers like Vivaldi and yes,Brave, have to hide who they are when going to some web sites if they want to work right.Google for example doesn't play well with them when they say who they are.If they remove their names from the id strings, the browsers work fine.EVEN Microsoft Edge(another chromium based browser)has to remove it's id for some web sites to function properly. See the story here... https://www.zdnet.com/article/vivaldi-to-change-user-agent-string-to-chrome-due-to-unfair-blocking/?ftag=TRE-03-10aaa6b&bhid=26489920132515480536915462877029
  20. lol, I'll admit it seems more fun for people who are there to kill the zombies instead of being there for the story line.
  21. I think that the ray tracing on the current RTX cards is actually rather good assuming that the game has been appropriately developed. The first version of Battlefield that supported RTX was awful because it was rushed in my humble opinion and when they were trying to use ray tracing they were virtually ray tracing everything on scene which is a little un-realistic. I am not saying there is no room for improvement on a hardware level, of course there is and the next generations of GPU's will yield better performance. What I will say is that I have been relatively impressed with the later ray tracing implementations in games, the earlier ones were very hit and miss. I do not think AMD will bring the hurt this time round, and they have a lot to catch up with, not only ray tracing but as you say they need to up their raster performance and of course their VRAM count. I understand they went with HBM/HBM2 but in all honesty what is the point in all that bandwidth if the game actually needs raw space, not speed. Strictly for gaming use, I am still waiting to see a real world advantage to HBM...That or I am just blind lol. Supposedly the new amd navi 23 will be able to compete with or even beat the 2080/2080ti, BUT that's either THIS generation(the super) or even the first generation cards they're talking about,so it leaves room for nvidia to still be releasing a new generation that'll be wiping the floor with it(sadly). It WOULD be nice to see team green get some real competition to make them treat the consumers right again and make them start sweating a bit.
  22. We see a lot of new test for our comps, but 3Dmark is an oldie but a goodie in that it's still keeping up with the times. here's some of the features that it has and some results of various test I've run today. First a general idea of some of the test in the Advanced edition along with some extra's (note that Port Royal is an RTX test) And Now for the results of the test I did today. Hope everybody enjoys!
  23. "RDNA2 Navi 23 GPU to Take The Competition to NVIDIA in the High-End Next Year Based on everything we've been hearing so far Navi 23 is going to be a large GPU that competes in the high-end segment in 2020. It is expected to bring full hardware accelerated ray tracing as well as a plethora of new architectural improvements." I think this kinda shows AMD isn't sitting on their tails hoping RTX is just a fad....
