FWIW, I'm new here and just stumbled on the sudden 3xxx drop, but my buddy is going to check this on his 5xxx AMD card, and I'm excited just for the fact that competition is good for everyone. I only stayed away from the AMD because I can't fit it in my current build (length).

FWIW He still posts every now and then on overclocker [dot] net, but it's certainly a shame in general. I feel he was one of the primary drivers of innovation in a long while.
