We're so power deficient at large scale it's almost unbelievable IMHO. I really, really hope that guy who has proven working thrust without propellant will receive enough initial funding to further research beyond the intended use case (escaping gravity/high-thrust-extremely-low-input). He even mentions (in somewhat obvious thoughtful nature) how this technology (and not completely understood fully) could breach many of our limiting factors in energy production. He alludes to other possibilities as well if the technology is applicable in specific states (loosely). It's like in another thread on UE5 update where improvement is made at software level allowing utilization of existing hardware. We don't need rapid improvement of physical technicality IMHO, we need better code/implementations.

My eyes are huge right now. For whatever reasons exist I am under the impression that our hardware (current/backlog of up to 3ish years even) is far more capable than the softwares are implementing (OS, games, etc). I sincerely hope that extra attention is given to utilizing CPU's efficiently enough that we stop seeing huge disparity in usage over time (insert whatever game you see it happen on). The one game that I can see scale properly (I don't think it's UE5) at least via testing is BF2042. Scaling CPU cores from 8-16 shows incredible improvement in average/low FPS when increasing the CPU thread availability. However, in COD this doesn't scale similarly. In CS2, it scales only to a point. It's really interesting to me. And I know very little in the minutiae that drives all the work (let's call it the internal digital magic), but like those of us here, I do know well the hardware capabilities/how to tweak them.

I still hold out hope that AMD has something that isn't/hasn't leaked that will solidify their (40 years?) of improvement. AMD really has come a long way compared to the competition with a softer start. But I know my hope is lofty.

VERY COOL. considering finding a dark site nearby for a better look tonight. edit: I think I should actually say, I saw a streak of red within the sky near the moon, which, obviously was cool because I've never gotten to experience the beautiful glowing enchantment of the auroras. I definitely agree with paid-for private hosting for servers. Wish COD was brought back in classic COD4 style.... private servers, matchmaking, tournies, etc. I think you're right to say leave it in the hands of the players like days past.

In the same vein and out of pure curiosity because I too believe we're venturing farther and further into the digital abyss..... What is a good anti-cheat solution, for modern day deployment? Seeing how rampant cheating has been across multitudes of games/platforms it does affect those of us who choose to play... without digital cheating aid.

Here we goooooooo! AI coming along nicely in the algo space? CHECK AI getting interconnected with other systems? CHECK Robotics moving towards human like dexterity and beyond? Old story always brings laughs when we reminisce among our old selves and how we played 1v1 on DN3D, Doom 2. RIOT/Delta Force 2, I think maybe Quake or Hexen, and or other similar FPS games... (friends I grew up with) One day my buddy calls, I'm not home. Get the note from mom, "**** called, said it's about a school project, better call him back now kid, says you two have it due tomorrow." I sense the direction this message has been relayed by ****..... I know what's really up. LMAO. I call him back and he says, "EFF ME.... I'm busted. Grounded for 2 weeks, PC is unplugged 24/7 and I'm only allowed to call you, the school, and **** and ****." I'm in shock..... (* happened) ............. I ask just that. "Soooo I didn't know! I didn't know! I thought it was just like regular long distance!? I didn't know playing **** in Germany was; like, more expensive than calling New York, you know we've been battling 1v1. Dad got the ATT bill and it was $1056.46" ....... Ok.. so TLDR: My buddy back then (mid 90's) had NO idea that playing 1v1 via modem over landline to his opponent in Germany (met via BBS) would cost as much as it did, for his nightly sessions, 4 times that week for about 30~40 minutes each session. Good times.

I love IRC. I believe that if the iphone hadn't been created mid 2000's that IRC might still be popular today... I mean, coming from ICQ, AIM, etc... i yearn for the old style BBS messaging systems. Kinda like answering machines. Oh, you called? Must've missed it. Oh, you texted? Sorry, forgot my phone has been on permanent DND because while I love connecting via voice and text with family and friends, I'm tired of being called by robots, spammers, scammers, and polling bureaus. I'm not asking for 1988 and Gremlins back.. but... I think it's still fine not knowing where people are 24/7. Or getting ahold of them. SLOW DOWN EVERYONE. THE SUN STILL COMES UP EVERY DAY. for now...

A quick subjective single-run test in fullscreen at native resolution 3440x1440 for DLSS results: 2% HAHA! lmTUSHo Anyways another subjective take is motion and shadows are much better in DLSS than FSR for me.

BADASS. I has on CD. Lucky enough to be near Long Beach, CA 80's 90's so lots good stuff form KJAZZ (UCSLB)... it was KLON back then. Two things I'm fond of memory wise. Many people have ooogles of shows, concerts and events they've been to. Me? Worked too damn much. But I will say my top visits to live events have been (in order of best) 1. BB KIng Live @ MBPAC w/ Shamika Copeland - who did Sunrise a 'Capella together... unbelievable experience. Got me a BB signed poster that night.. 2. Taj Mahal & Charlie Musslewhite at the LBBF late mid 90's - Taj n Charlie just went on... and on.... and on... unreal. 3. Clairy Browne & The Bangin' Rackettes - at a little venue in HB, SoCal... opening show for her 'America' tour.. too bad she didn't last with a group - went solo and ruined herself. Her + group was ... incredible for a modern day take on showmanship.... Honorable mention cause I just feel lucky enough to have had the chance... got to see Tom Petty in Anaheim before he passed. The man is a legend, no doubt. No one quite compares.

Continued research LOL.

Man I looked at stuff for about a week. I am rethinking myself now into two options, not for much other than simplicity. That MORA rad (which I'm sure has made it's rounds already in the WC community) definitely seems to be the best option for the actual performance side of it; that said it is massive. Either that or a AIO 420; - less maintenance all around I suppose. Along with finding out I'll need extra parts on hand (no issue there), I am curious to know if a custom loop is really worth the "hassle" (if you will) of obtaining "highest possible performance" outside of extreme options beyond water. I'm not here to break any records, rather was curious if putting a spare chip under water might produce better clocking results due to ability to crank vcore (somewhat). I am not trying to talk myself out of it, I am trying to find my vantage point between "this makes sense" and "nope, this doesn't".
