  1. This impressively maintained. That is all. I'm in awe.
  2. It is SO god damned hard. SO effing hard. NOT TO JUMP INTO MODS IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT HAVING PLAYED THROUGH FIRST! I mean I've loving it and taking my time. It's a game I can't just pop in and out for 20-30 minutes, I need half day, full day etc. Fun so far, excited to continue playing/crafting etc. Haven't even started ship constructs, just landed in Alpha Centauri this morning. Anyways... man the articles, the mods, the Reddit blasts... I'm... I'm DOING MY BEST DAMNIT, STOP ENTICING ME WITH MORE GREAT STUFF ON TOP OF AN ALREADY GREAT GAME lmao.
  3. Well let's see if I can paint a visual picture here since I don't have a SS but I suppose I should get one and add it as I can! Win 11 The app is minimized to the notification area and upon clicking it to open BF from there, sometimes it will reopen but as if it's been resized. However the resizing doesn't actually resize the rest of the visual part of the app. In this state when I click, the click works but you can clearly see it's now uncalibrated to the app's window because of the odd resize for whatever reason. I notice in this state that a big border of sorts appears around the visual part of the app, almost like a window header and have to click an edge to resize the window and then it goes back to normal. (I hope that explained it lmao.) Will post a SS here as I can hopefully reproduce this easily, seems to happen all the time. Might be a power issue upon sleep? Posting out of pure curiosity, nothing more... lol EDIT: Shoot, have to figure out how to add pics after the fact DAMN I'M BLIND. And additionally, extra info - two monitors, one 1440 and one 1080. IGPU for 1080 and 6800XT for 1440. 10900K EDIT2: LÉ SCREENYSHOTTÉ!
  4. I have arrived home from work and immediately turned the PC on. Well, I was a good dad-bro to my dog; we did hang at the dog park for 1.5 hours first. But now, now I hope she's all good for a couple of weeks. Looks like I might be distracted. Oh look, the update is done. See you all in a few weeks.......... !
  5. Wait wait wait... Starfield tomorrow? TOMORROW? Do I stay up LATE past MIDNIGHT and GAME OUT LIKE A HYPED-UP, NICOTINE AND CAFFEINE FUELED 16 YEAR OLD PREVIOUS ME? and... possibly be 'too sick' to work?
  6. Ya but still... lol, we can dream, right?
  7. Intel Shows 8 Core 528 Thread Processor with Silicon Photonics credit from hackernews to servethehome Found it interesting, not sure if already posted elsewhere.
  8. I definitely uhhm bring, um, somethings to the discussion, while those somethings bring this um, different perspective, sometimes. Cause, too often I enjoy some thing and peruse the world of tech.
  9. Welcome. I'm the least knowledgeable here, but quite enjoy this place. Because, this is the place.
  10. That's pretty awesome. Here's hoping somehow they're able to increase inputs and decrease output times as the technology improves ~
  11. I have no clue as to real numbers, BUT - if 1.6 billion in revenue and a generalized aspect of a 25% PC vs 28% (via random search results) in sales space; considering then the average console price over a 10 year period at roughly $475 vs the average of $300 over the same period for PC comparable performance (though I think as of acutely recent trailing much bigger price, no?); the numbers over time probably speak volumes. It makes me wonder, NV does Sheild and goes deep and long on AI and a shite ton of backend, tackles average of 75% of PC market over same period while trying to dip services off of console and into *every space* (or medium I suppose)... SO Hear me out, bold random guess... maybe AMD has a hidden trick up their sleeve. Why leave it to Sony and Playstation alone when it can leverage similar assets to assert a... more appreciatively priced all-in-one product that delivers beyond relatively priced competition in multiple markets? I mean I'm kinda riding cloud nine cause you know, well, name. But yeah ... what if..
  12. Besides the 3D stacking tech outta AMD, what is Intel on besides AI specific compute units/handling? When is the next 'breakthrough'?
  13. Quick interjection into what seems to be a conversation purely based on the market share of PC GPU value/s; I have a theory. AMD nailed the 'other' major revenue stream that NV didn't capture = console market. AMD's been in the lead there for at least the last two iterations, that's basically a decade. This plays into that market share from an R&D perspective if that's the case, IMHO. Thoughts?
  14. Credit TPU Poll attached, curious what everyone thinks.
  15. I theorize with pure spitball nature that the 'rental unit' thing is some kinda of pending clock cycle / register that somehow intelligently stacks loads based on some crazy algorithm that does black magic and splits full single core-only workloads across all available cores or something crazier like renting GPU cycles to process some random stuff. No clue. LOL.
  16. Just tossing in for extra reference - I'm on MSI Gaming X Trio 6800XT, fully updated Win10 and I do not have secondary fast timing as an option with my setup (23.7.1 drivers).
  17. Much appreciated @pioneerisloud! I should be good with what I have. May even get more stuff cause why not, what else do I have to do
  18. I had one of those years ago, loved it. Could watch TV on one monitor and play CS on the other... man... missin dem days.
  19. Well I bought an expensive (probably not originally) used JVC Hi-Fi DVD/VHS box but sadly it won't play SP VHS tapes. I was so bummed out. For capture I have a Honestech USB 2.0 VHS-to-DVD (BR even I guess) device with RCA/S-Video and works a charm. Even the outdated but handy software it came with works plenty fine. Then a few days after the JVC box I stopped by a local thrift store and found a Daewoo DVD/VHS box. It was also labeled as Hi-Fi and I thought, "Damn.. gonna be the same thing and might not work". Well, for a whopping $10 let me tell you GENTS.... the Daewoo WORKS. LOL! Got my 8-yr old easter egg hunt transferred, so many more to do now.
  20. Eh, kids memory. Musta watched it a gazillion times as a child. Maybe someday it'll bring joy again on some kinda... spiritual edible ascent.
  21. Yep I got some old stuff. The JVC player/recorder I just picked up is DVD+VHS; direct transfer possible, but sadly the VHS is only 'HiFi' so it won't properly display SP tapes, which is what most of the content is that I have. I've got old family recordings, xmas, birthdays, easter, accolades like first communion etc, and plenty more (like dad's PGA stuff from the 80's and 90's, tony awards, etc from mom). Plus I've got like original Peter Pan disney that I'd like to digitize for my personal library. What I bought YEARS ago was this VHS-to-DVD USB dongle from some rando company. Got the software on CD and have a good key for it (VHS to DVD 4.0 by Honestech). Simple to use software that can at least get VHS to a digital file that I can then use Handbrake/other encoders to format to what I want. Been fun sofar today ... but grinding my damn gears because many of the VHS tapes I have are recorded in SP (cause you get more time LOL).... anyway... gonna now build up my VCR/VHS devices so I can get everything I need digitized. I probably have... 100+ tapes? gonna be a project FOR SURE... lol
  22. Casually trying to transfer VHS to DIGITAL... old VCR (oldschool... RCA {Thompson Electric actually} took a dump over the years I guess) and new JVC (dual dvd+vhs) seems to not like SP video (boooooo lol). So yeah, chat away....
