  1. Battery is "new" (bought 2023 but not in the car until the day it went in for an MOT, fully charged it when it ran out on the day I discovered the alternator was completely dead) and seemingly charged. Alternator is also new. I say the battery was seemingly charged because it started up just fine and ran perfectly fine for a little while. It was only after 5-6 minutes that all of the warning lights would flicker on and off. This is something that does happen when the ECU is dying apparently. It's going in next week for diagnosis anyway to find out what the actual problem is.
  2. Further update: I'm like 99% sure it's the ECU that's the problem here. Just went on a drive and all of the warning lights would flicker on and off. This, along with all of the other issues mentioned, means it's almost certainly the ECU.
  3. I'm sure he's not embarrassed either, but that doesn't mean he isn't embarrassing himself. He lacks the self awareness to be embarrassed. His only inputs with SpaceX is money. SpaceX has measures in place to stop him from doing anything other than the countdown and pushing a launch button. Before the Cybertruck, his only inputs in Tesla were money, and saying the Roadster should have carbon fibre body panels. The lead engineer at the time said that's not a good idea because it will make the car too expensive and that fibre glass panels are much cheaper and lighter, Elon Musk told them to do it anyway. It ended up being too expensive and he fired the lead engineer for it. The Cybertruck is an absolute failure of a vehicle. Engineers who quit Tesla because of it, said they came up with much better alternatives and Elon Musk refused the alternative ideas. Now, Tesla have a $100K truck that doesn't function above 50mph outside of Southern California that no one wants to buy. You can tell because they've cut back production significantly and they lumped in Cybertruck sales in with the Model S and X sales just to seemingly inflate the numbers for the shareholders. Tesla have huge parking lots full of manufactured Cybertrucks that they're unable to find buyers for. They even dropped the price by $20,000 not that long ago just to sell them. Not an issue Ford or Rivian are having with their EV trucks. They can go on about having millions of pre-orders all they want, but how many of those pre-orders actually turned into sales? The pre-order was a $100 fully refundable thing. Effectively a crowed sourced interest free loan. Thanks to the 7 recalls the Cybertruck has had for things that can't be OTA fixed, we know there's an estimated 27,000 sold.
  4. Articles similar to this have been coming out since 2018 because he keeps embarrassing himself and he's a public figure. He's only been getting involved in politics over the last couple of years. The article exists because it's such a weird thing for a 53 year old man to lie about, then get into a weird online beef with a guy who uses the smell of a dead rat as an alarm clock, then try to prove everyone wrong, only to prove them right. Had he said "yeah, this is my account but I paid other people to level it up for me" then no one would have cared. At least not to this extent. No one cares that xX_ToeMango69_Xx lied about being a world class gamer because they're not a public figure. Similar articles are written about other public figures who lie about their gaming skills such as Billy Mitchell.
  5. You're underestimating how much I don't want to do anything anymore lol I'm not even doing an oil change on my daily driver despite how quick and easy it is to do. But yeah, ignition relay is another thing that could be the issue. I think I can still get those brand new. So if it is that, it's going to make things much easier. I'm going to book it in for next month to have some diagnosis done as well as having the suspension adjusted properly. Right now, the suspension adjustment (including toe both front and rear) was done by my by eye so it's completely wrong but somehow still driving straight. It also has the opposite of a Carolina Squat going on. The rear is about an inch higher than the front. I also don't want to yeet through these tyres. I abused the ones that came on the wheels, but these Pilot Sport 5s were expensive. £640 for the set, they're EV specific tyres too. I do know that some EV specific tyres have less tread than normal tyres because of efficiency or something. No idea if these do, but if they do, I don't want to wear through already "worn" tyres quicker than necessary.
  6. I forgot to update this. My mechanic managed to find one for a much more reasonable price than £1100 and was in stock, and wasn't one of those eBay specials. I also had the timing belt changed, ended up costing double what was expected because my mechanic said that every single nut and bolt was basically welded on from the rust. So that's one less thing that I have to worry about. I also bought some Pilot Sport 5s for it. Immediately after that, the power steering failed because of a leak, so I got that fixed. Now it won't start, sometimes. I'm not using it for anything serious right now in case it switch it off while somewhere and then it won't switch on again. If it doesn't start while in my driveway, it doesn't matter because it's already home. I've looked up the issues that could cause this. It's either something in the fuel system, or popped ECU caps. Fuel pump sounds fine, so maybe not that? It has cut out a couple of times while driving (slowing down and the car needs to shift from 2nd to 1st). This is apparently a telltale sign of the ECU being on the way out, so if this is the issue, I'm going to have to find someone who can put new caps on it. New ECUs are impossible to find and used ones are going to have the same issue in the not too distant future if they don't already have that issue.
  7. Such an odd thing to lie about. But I do love it every time he talks about something that other people know about. He always gets called out. He should have stuck to talking about rocket science if he wanted to appear like a genius. Rocket scientists don't really have the time to call out the lies. Car guys, train guys and gamers do. After the first stream, didn't he try to prove everyone that it was his account and he went on some mid-level map with one of the most overpowered accounts in the game, then died immediately? I've heard this but not really looked into it. If true, that's hilarious.
  8. That's good. It's pretty much impossible to be a functional member of society these days without internet. You don't even need fast internet, just a connection. 2Mbps is more than sufficient to do basic things like online banking, applying for jobs and using email. The fact that it's 25Mbps minimum is pretty neat.
  9. Assetto Corsa Evo I really need more screenshots of this game, but it runs terribly at the moment for me. Not really surprising though, it is version 0.1.
  10. Discord moderators are everyone with a dark orange name as well as those with the OCN/EHW moderator role. Right now (from what I can see, some are offline so aren't showing on the list): Alex, axipher, Cerberus, Zinga and I believe Simmons. I know Chunky_Chip also has moderator powers there. For news editors/posters (unless they've retired) is @UltraMega
  11. I think it's pretty interesting that Mark Zuckerberg, recipient of the world's first rat penis transplant, would remove fact checking.
  12. I welcome the new overlords.
  13. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. If the mechanic can't fix the alternator, I'll likely end up with one of these. It's the only place I can find a trustworthy third party one. There are a bunch on ebay for like £100, but I don't trust them to not catch on fire. I'd also like to buy one locally for warranty reasons. If it does need to be replaced and my mechanic can't find one, I'll send you a DM.
  14. I've been on an emotional roller coaster recently for several reasons. One of them being this car. I booked it in for an MOT expecting a laundry list of dangerous MOT failures, which I don't care about because I'm not selling it anyway. It failed on headlights and wipers. That's it. They replaced the wipers and bulbs and it passed. The mechanic said "this car is incredible. When you told me it has been sitting in your back yard for 10 years, I thought it would fail on a lot of things." Nothing mentioned about chassis or sub frame rust, which is fantastic news. However: Alternator is most likely dead. If that is the issue, I'm hoping it can be repaired because a replacement one from Lexus is £1050. A decent third party one is £250, but it's out of stock and I'll have to wait several weeks to actually get it. Also when it broke down,it was at the side of the road for about 1.5 hours. 5 people stopped offering help and one of them even wanted to buy it. The recovery guy also offered to buy it. It's going back in next week Thursday for an alignment and ride height adjustment, getting the aux belt and timing belt fitted as well as literally every fluid getting replaced. This car did absolutely hemorrhage my bank account on Monday. I spent near a months worth of wages on the MOT, tax, insurance, recovery and battery charger.
  15. Price is okay when you compare it to previous console releases adjusted for inflation. PS1 - $611 PS2 - $546 PS3 - $778 PS4 - $583 PS4 Pro - $522 PS5 - $606 PS5 Pro - $699 It's not the cheapest, in fact it's the second most expensive, but it's in line with previous releases. What is a deal breaker is the lack of disc drive. Sony have removed DLC that I paid for. They've also removed content that people paid for pretty recently too. I don't trust them to go fully digital with games. I was looking forward to the PS5 Pro for Gran Turismo 7 and GTA 6. I can't trust Sony to allow me to buy those from the Sony store and then still have access to it 10 years later when the licenses expire. Or in the case of the DLC I bought for Gran Turismo 5, 5 years.

  17. AdGuard on iOS with Safari. I've been using it since the iPhone 11 came out and I've never had an issue with it.
  18. A lot of this isn't down to Google though. These days, there's three choices of web browsers. Safari (why you'd use this on anything other than Mac is beyond me), Firefox or Chrome. Because basically every web browser now is pretty much just Chrome with a skin, web developers are focusing way more on Chrome support I occasionally have issues with compatibility with Firefox because of that. Even Edge, the default MS browser, is Chrome with a skin. It's not Googles fault that web browser developers abandoned their own software in favour of a Chrome or that web developers now focus pretty much exclusively on Chrome now. As far as search engines go, I can kind of see this with Apple. Google is paying Apple quite a lot of money for Google to be the default search engine on both iOS/iPadOS and macOS. But other than that, practically everyone defaults go Google anyway. Like, to a point where "Google it" is a very common phrase. To a point where "Google" is now a catch-all phrase for a web browser. Similar to Frisbee, Band-Aid, Velcro or Jacuzzi. That is beyond Googles control.
  19. I have acquired an belts (plural) and an oil filter (singular)
  20. You don't really have a choice anymore. Back in 2013 when I bought a Crosshair V, I bought it because I wanted to do some overclocking beyond what cheap motherboards could handle. I paid £180 (£243 adjusted for inflation) new for it and it was pretty high end at the time/ These days, if you want four RAM slots and two m.2 slots, you pretty much have to go high end because the cheaper motherboards that are perfectly fine for gamers in theory, only have two RAM slots and maybe one m.2 slot. A mid-range motherboard these days is around £180-£220. The closest equivalent to a modern Crosshair V has a RRP of £385 and it's selling for £300.
  21. Even if they are older models, that's still obscenely cheap for what they are.
  22. That must be a pricing error, no? Those seem way too cheap.
