  1. That must be a pricing error, no? Those seem way too cheap.
  2. Mine doesn't have one either, even after leaving it sitting for 10 years.
  3. The government says I need this, which is a load of nonsense. I don't use the brakes anyway. That's for slowing down.
  4. The issue with refurbing, is they typically don't last long before they seize again. I did find another official Alfa rear caliper made by the same manufacturer for £180 brand new, but then it won't be painted. Red is an extra £155 for some reason and the rear ones on my car are unpainted anyway. I need new discs and pads front and rear anyway, so it's going to cost me £650 for new pads and discs + the two rear calipers + some DOT 4 + that vacuum pump thing to change the fluid on my own.
  5. It's correlation/causation thing. Someone who plays violent video games (which lets be honest, is a majority of the population these days), they go out and commit a violent act. Authorities search their homes and find that they play violent video games. Then it happens again with someone else, same thing, then again, and again and again. Turns out almost all of the people who have committed violent acts have also played violent video games so they say correlation = causation. When in fact, the video games are emulating real life. The first school shooting in the US happened in 1764. Before the US was even a country. This kind of violence has been around since the dawn of time and will continue to happen, whether or not there are video games. I understand what you're saying, but you can't blame video games causing badly parented kids to not know the difference between right and wrong. I've played the GTA series since I was 8 years old. Even back then I knew it wasn't acceptable or legal to go up to someone in their car at a stop light then drag them out of it to steal their car.
  6. I have inspected my brakes and the rear right caliper is seized. A new one is £335 and you pretty much have to do them in pairs.
  7. Update: I have finally acquired an job. I will carry on fixing this once I get my first paycheck.
  8. Yesterday, I had the realization that my Lexus has 2.5x Alfa Mito fuel tanks worth of fuel in it that I put in about 8 months ago. It's basically £145 worth of fuel that last year I paid £110 for. So time to yeet that into the Alfa. Side note: Petrol tastes like brain damage
  9. Sometimes I have to go back to the classics of the 1980s.
  10. This is not surprising tbh, the sale of all luxury goods is in massive decline recently.
  11. There aren't really any on the market that I would go for. A good step up in theory is the Apple Vision Pro, but instead of Apple letting it be compatible with Windows, they decided to not do that because they're Apple. The only other VR headset I'd recommend is a Valve Index, but that's going to be a mostly sidegrade or downgrade in some aspects such as resolution.
  12. Aurora Borealis? At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localised entirely within EHW?
  13. After exclusively using snow mode for 323.6 miles, I am no longer going to use it. Snow mode reduces throttle response and is supposed to give the car slightly less power, which means less fuel used. Turns out, it doesn't, so back to normal mode.
  14. Nah, that's just the reflection of his shirt.
  15. Doing 50-60 is illegal and is possible in theory, but then I'd have to cut the corner and end up in the loose gravel which would give me far less grip. It's pretty clean in that screenshot, but that screenshot is is from 2017 Street View. I stick in this blue bit because that's where the most grip is
  16. I always yeet around here at 35-40mph. I sometimes get a very small amount of oversteer when doing that. Usually, people who are following me take this corner at the same speed because they can't think for themselves. They think because I do it, it's safe for them to do it as well. One day, I imagine someone is going to take that corner at the same speed as me with worse tyres and/or they freak out and slam on the brakes which will cause them to crash. I also do that to save fuel. It's a 40mph road that goes into a 50mph road. My average mpg went up by 5 since I started doing that. I used to slow down to 20-25mph for this corner. Hypermiling doesn't have to be boring.
  17. Oh no, someone has Taycan my favourite parking spot.
