  1. Geez - I used my phone earlier and my font is huge o_O Anyway, you make a fair point - however, It is important to note that while the existence of the program can be proven, the idea these companies willingly or secretly collaborated with intelligence agencies, beyond their legal obligations, is more speculative. The companies have always maintained that they gave data only when it was demanded by law, not as part of any secret deal negotiated behind closed doors. In that sense, although PRISM did occur, specifics of each company's voluntary cooperation are still open to debate.
  2. Well it is actually Mountain View California, not Canada. Although they do have offices in Canada. While you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't have conspiracy theories about how one or all of the tech giants are in bed with US government spy agencies such as the CIA, there's no evidence that Google leans toward foreign governments. While the tinfoil hats comment lands a funny, conspiracy-theory harkening jab—the truth is that Google is such an antitrust target more for its size and influence than anything pursuant to some shadowy governmental agenda.
  3. I'm in your profile taking space writing on your wall random stuffs. >____<

  4. Honestly, I don't think this idea is impractical at all. Not everyone cares about having teh top of the line GPU. On top of that, not everyone can afford one anyway, so concentrating on mid-tier markets makes sense for them long term. I think most people just want good value with their performance, so if AMD can deliver that, it's going to win more fans.
  5. 1000% agreed. Too long has the giant of the search engine realm throttled competition and hindered consumers' freedom. They've used their tremendous influence to make agreements, like with Apple, so their search engine stays the default, cementing their monopoly even further. >___> By taking severe action against them, the court can show, whatever its size or influence, that no company is above the law. Tough penalties and remedies are needed to ensure competition is on the level again in tech companies ensuring future innovation happens.
  6. When things like this happen, it's hard not to dwell on those bittersweet memories—like reading about the latest CPU and how it compares to the competition. Over the years, so much has changed. I often wonder if it's because I'm getting older and struggling to let go. The news of Anandtech shutting down strangely hit me; I felt a deep sadness in the pit of my stomach. Then I thought, "Why do I care so much?!" It's all those years since the mid-2000s when I first learned about building computers and overclocking. Anandtech was one of the go-to sites for information. I find myself always slipping into nostalgia—something I imagine we all do.
