  1. A race towards last place you say? Bet you'll have trouble with this one (unless you get one of those old Athlons to boot W7/W10) 4c/4t Intel Atom (Baytrail) z3735F ~1.58GHz, a solid single thread score of 29.3 and unbelievable multi thread score of 116.3. This is a tablet with the charger disconnected for extra low power. As horrible as this tablet is, I used to actually play League of Legends in between and perhaps during classes while in college
  2. 5600x 1.356v 4.7ghz all core. I didn't spend much time optimizing or really finding the limit but this has been working quite well.
  3. Ah yes, thank you for that! Sorry about the typos, should know better than to trust swiping but I still don't, ha.
  4. Yes, heat much less of a concern at the moment. I remember a while back that three windows client had a pause button which I assumed would pause after current work unit completion. It didn't ever seem to work. Do you know if that is still an issue?
  5. Revisiting this thread makes me want to fire up at least some CPU workers!
  6. Definitely a bummer to still have my 3600 on the bench ? Glass half full, maybe later batches will clock just a little better?
  7. Sadly, I think I'll be down for a little while. Reconfiguring the layout of the office, rewiring the area and the rack, and hopefully configuring 4u box for the GPUs to live in until they melt.
  8. Im guessing since I found it powered off it that maybe I exceeded the PSU... but when I powered on there was a suspicious Windows update that was applying. This rig is a ThreadRipper 1920x with one 1070ti and one 2080 8gb. I did turn up the power limits a day ago as well, this is all being powered by a Seasonic if 850w. I turned it all back on and am running the GPUs at 100% for now. This arraignment is temporary, my long term plan is to put the TR in a 4u server case and x3 GPUs to fold on. I'll be running 3 copies of Ubuntu as VMs because this will serve as another ESXi host in my lab. I figure if I give the folding VMs two threads each they should be happy and I will have enough left over for other VMs. This will be powered by a 1kw evga PSU though
  9. I'm eyeing up an RTX 3070 for testing and comparison then some f@h. We'll see what materializes I guess
  10. Hi! Yes, I pointed an MSI 2080 8gb towards the cause! I am building another hypervisor for my lab that I plan to add GPUs to for folding and other compute research
  11. Now that CUDA support has been added, does it change the GPU recommendations at certain price points?
  12. Thanks! Henlo becomes hablo on my keyboard ? Looks like there's a F@H team, perhaps I will join
  13. Found the breadcrumbs and signed up Long time lurker @OCN (a real long time) but started getting more interested in projects as of late and finally started working on them. Interested to explore around here and see how things go!
