  1. I have to say the big bucks to invest in marketing gimmicks paid off because a significant number of people associate ray tracing with NVIDIA. Not many look past this and realize this is just math and anyone can use it. Xe will have Ray Tracing and now AMD shows they have it too. For the first attempt at real time ray tracing AMD hasn't done a bad job. We need to be fair and acknowledge that NVIDIA is on their second generation Ray Tracing design and they should have a bit of an advantage. I expect Intel's first iteration to be at a low level but I hope I am wrong. I will be honest and admit that I always preferred Ruby to Nalu. I remember the days of getting a card with her on the cooler and how she looked with her dual swords when you'd install something from ATI. These past years have been depressing in the tech industry and I cannot be happier to see competition in the GPU segment. As I have reached a point where I care about stability, support, and the ecosystem, I will probably pick my GPU based on these factors as well. It is no surprise that NVIDIA will prepare a new Titan and some sharp TI cards when going down to 7nm TSMC. I am still running a 1080p screen and come spring I aim to move on 4K. This will require a new system and I am very excited. Maybe Rocket Lake is competitive as well. Who knows, I look forward to a mobo like the APEX but for AMD chips. If Sapphire makes a Vapor-X that kills everything, I might go AMD. I can't wait
  2. What audio sources are you guys using when you drive? I alternate between Spotify & Qobuz. Truth be told I used FM and DAB twice in the past 4 months *haha*.
  3. I can't wait for the reviews now. It seems the 6900 version was benched vs the 3090 with AMD gimmicks on (Rage mode, etc). If the 6900 is 70-80% of the 3090 performance at MSRP then we do have some benefit as consumers. I am more worried of AIB pricing. I am sure the AMD partners will take some cards with 20-30W additional TDP and will match without AMD exclusive features the performance Ampere has. Sadly this will be reflected in the price.
  4. So they did with GDDR6 what NVIDIA did with GDDR6X? Interesting because engineers at NVIDIA are not stupid. Does that Cache make up for the slower memory?
  5. I saw something on the internet this morning and I hope people are not truly threatening CDPR employees for not releasing. I think this was on Videocardz in the comment sections and some people there acted like this was the end of the world. Kiddie tantrums because the game is delayed. When it comes to pre-ordering, Mass Effect Andromeda taught me I should not but Battlefront was the one slapping me hard in the face. Since BF1 came out I stopped pre-ordering all EA games and no longer play them. I will admit I pre-ordered AC Valhalla because UBI was in trouble and I did not want people to lose their jobs during the pandemic. CDPR products are gonna be on my pre-order list as long as they continue to put quality in their products. I prefer to pay the full price in advance in order for the employees to have access to their bonuses and make their families happy. This is the reason I bought two versions of this game. TW3 was not a perfect game and I had some bugs. One of them quite game breaking as I could never craft weapons with Hatori. The damn mission to interface with the crates was bugged as hell. I tried 2 days to fix it but never could. Excluding this, the experience and the world design was mind blowing. You cannot get such results if you don’t have the desire to do well by your customers.
  6. I see a lot of people on YouTube with clickbait titles and I do not really understand why this approach is needed. I won't get into Star Citizen but given the current situation and pressure on these guys we have to appreciate their courage to stand their ground. It is not easy to make such statements when today's generation is all about pitchforks and cancel culture. On my side, I booked vacation for the release and I will need to keep the days because of scheduling conflicts. I am sure that some devs have been working day and night to make it happen. CDPR is a transparent company and they deserve all the time they need to release this product. For me, this is the perfect time to show your fanbase that you are willing to work old-school and release a working product rather than have your customers give you money for something you will have to fix in the first 6 months of release.
  7. Seems the game has been delayed to December 10th!
  8. I will arrange in the next week to run this on a different machine. I would need to open it up and give it a thorough cleaning and TIM job because it has been 4 years since I took care of it. Its a dinosaur: Mobo: X58 Formula III Rampage CPU : X5650 @ 4.2 GHz. Most likely I will have to drop the clock to 3.8-4.0 GHz to drop case temps for the GPU. RAM : 16 GB G-Skill in Dual Channel as I can't run Triple Channel anymore. My cooler killed the socket. Running a Venomous X with a crap load of pressure with Zalman ZF3 fans. For some reason the Triple channel slot no longer works. SSD : 960 Pro 512 GB i think. GPU: KFA RTX 2070 Case : Antec 902 with Noctua Fans. As some of you know, I am folding on my 2070 MaxQ Razer. I am no longer worried about temps as it seems the cooling solution is adequate if I do not allow the CPU at full clocks. I gimped it with Throttle Stop between 2.9 and 3.4 GHz while allowing the GPU to clock at times to 1500 MHz. My worry is the battery swelling because, unlike old school laptops, this battery requires me to open the whole thing and unplug various sensitive connectors which, with my yetti hands, might break.
  9. You reckon INTEL will go through a transformation and focus on other things more and more rather than getting back to being Chipzilla?
  10. To be honest, I am curious of the pricing because performance will be on par. As I see from news outlets, they had to sign some licensing agreements to use a lot of tech on these cards. I will laugh my ass off if Intel gets a solid implementation with their cpu-gpu parts as prices will simply go up. I remember how everyone would look for the non gpu chips but this trend might change. People tend to forget how strong quicksync was until others managed to provide their alternative solutions.
  11. The Asia-Pacific area is quite big so they might not suffer as much as people think. They pretty much own that part of the world.
  12. Source. Could this be the beginning of a new outsourcing trend in other areas of the globe?
  13. When all is said and done and EA continues their practices, many will be fired and some studios closed so management paychecks will continue to flow at the promised rate.
  14. I said it before, 2020 and 2021 seem to be a good year for building some monster computers. Good chips for pretty much anything and GPU wise things will be very competitive.
  15. I keep hearing this on the radio so I finally decided to see what is what and who is who ??.
  16. I stopped using Facebook 3 years ago so I guess this product is not for me then *haha*
  17. That is how my laptop will end up :). It has an internal battery!
