    5800x temps?

To finalise... Stock PBO: Temps: 84-85c Clock: 4525mhz PBO -15: Temps: 84-85c Clock: 4625mhz PBO -20: Temps: 82c Clock: 4700mhz PBO -25: Temps: 81c Clock: 4725mhz !WHEA errors! PBO -30: !Boot failure! So, I think i'll leave it at -20 for now... just use the computer as normal and monitor WHEA error log. It seems stable with AIDA stress test.

    5800x temps?

Small increase in 3dmark score from CPU and noticeable improvement on CPU-Z bench with offset applied to all core. PBO on, stock: PBO on, -20 offset

    5800x temps?

What offset do you have applied? I've been messing with negative all core offset today and have the following: Stock PBO: Temps: 84-85c Clock: 4525mhz PBO -15: Temps: 84-85c Clock: 4625mhz PBO -20: Temps: 82c Clock: 4700mhz

    5800x temps?

I contemplated a beefier cooler, but in reality, I don't really want anything bigger as the Meshify C isn't big. If anything, it would be a slim AIO. But, if it's touching 83c only under synthetic load, I think that's fine. It's within spec and still boosting to 4.9ghz with PBO. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't completely wrong, but sounds similar to you.

    5800x temps?

I installed my Ryzen 5800x a few weeks back in an MSI B450 Tomahawk (non-max) board. It uses Arctic MX4 paste and a Be Quiet! Dark Rock 4 (non Pro). All fans are Be Quiet! 140mm 1500rpm PWM fans, except two Noctua Redux roof fans. I know it's a hot chip, so just wanted to sanity check what i'm seeing. In intensive games, such as Mafia definitive edition, i'm hitting 65c-70c temps. With Aida CPU stress test, it tops out at about 83c. The latter instance obviously kicks all fans up to max and ambient is 20c. Idle temps are ~30c. Does it sound correct? It's certainly hotter than my 3800x, but perhaps this is expected.
  7. Got my 5800x installed today and it seems happy. It boost to almost 4.9ghz with PBO enabled, much higher than my 3800x. Healthy rise in all benchmarks. But, she's a hot chip. I only have the basic Be Quiet Dark Rock 4 and it's touching 70c just opening intensive apps, let alone anything under load!
  8. Mk7 didn't, but you could get a warranty friendly Quaife unit fitted by a Mountune garage. I have a Wavetrac in mine which is a bit more track focused. How's the Lexus project?
  9. Sup lads, long time since i've been in the OCN thread. I think back then I had just bought my Fiesta ST. Well, turns out that it's true calling was a track slag and that on the roads, I really enjoy crap cars. This is my £200 daily I picked up. Clutch slips and gears are crunchy. Also had sill rust. I talked to matey boy down the garage and he gave me a clean MOT: The Focus is a good car for taking stuff to the dump, so also have another shed spec car for taking kids to nursery and shops. This time £1999, done 15k miles since I bought it (on 86k), only needing droplinks and AC belt (both like £90 jobs at garage): The track slag has grown up. A lot of basic mods... coilovers, LSD, big front mount, mapped, baffled sump bla bla... It's proven to be an absolutely fantastic little track car though. Cheap to run, cheap to insure and comfortable. Has been on the ring annually for Circuit Days event since 2017 or so and around the UK.
  10. Yep, much cheaper prices than Scan and Amazon too. I picked up a 5800x for £379.99 and my mates got 5600x for £279.99 or so. Just waiting for them to arrive now.
  11. A little steep but build quality is worth paying for, nothing worse than a rickety keyboard. RGB is nothing I want, but the option for standard backlit would be good. Will checkout the company, will see if they deliver lol They do free 48 hour shipping
  12. Was £125. A little steep, but I prefer build quality over RGB. I always have my room lights on anyway. Keyboard Co are good people, very friendly. Worth checking out if you're Gloucester/Stroud way.
  13. Thanks for the advice. So I went down to KeyBoard Co's shop here in the UK and I picked up the following after testing out the switches. It's a Filco Majestouch Ninja with Silent Red switches. I actually really enjoyed them and it was nice not having them make a huge amount of noise. I felt even the browns were loud!!!
  14. Yeah, I spoke to some friends and may seem to recommend it paired with browns for all rounder duty! I ideally don't want to exceed £120. I'd be selling my current board to help offset. I am contemplating to drive down to The Keyboard Co tomorrow.
  15. Hi, I currently use a Filco Majestouch 2 with Cherry Blues. I do really like it, but I primarily use my computer for FPS gaming and the odd bit of typing here and there (mainly forums and emails etc...). But, I find my Majestouch 2 with numpad takes up more space than i'd like, especially when playing FPS games. I am looking for something that would be a good tenkeyless board, whilst being an allrounder (for gaming/typing). I'm not fussy on RGB. I have had a look at a few boards: Logitech G Pro = Uses a blue style switch? Not sure if this is really that good for FPS gaming? Corsair K65 Lux = uses Cherry Reds. I'm not familiar with these switches and how they feel? Looks like a solid board? Corsair K65 RapidFire = Seems to be good for gaming, but probably not enjoyable to type on. Filco Majestouch 2 TenKeyless = Seems like a solid option. Available with either silent-reds, brown or blue. Silent red good for gaming, might be better as have kids on the way and prefer not to wake them! I guess there are a number of perhaps smaller keyboard manufacturers that may fit the bill here. I am not aware of a lot of them, so i'd like some advice. One key important feature: Board must be available in UK layout. Need muh double height enter key.
  16. Final track outing of the year to Cadwell Park. One of the best circuits i've done in the UK, up there with Anglesey. 2020 looks to be the year of BBK as i'm reaching the limits of the stock set up in terms of heat and raw power. Also plan for a new turbo actuator and map which should give me another 10-12hp on top of what I have (~240hp): Started getting used to packing efficiently. Secure box for tracks with no garages, tyres in boot and 20L jerry can behind passenger seat. None of my friends are able to fit a full set of tyres in their car! Getting set up in the morning: One of our friends has a little more disposable income and hires a race engineer to set up his car so he can arrive and drive... Car was great once again on track. Was a little outgunned by some other high end machinery though: With my mates doing convoy laps (more fun that it sounds!) Friend recently replaced his Integra Type R DC2 (needed engine rebuild and a lot of rust work) with a Megane RS and joined the boost life: Was our mate with the Team Schirmer cars first time at Cadwell. When you turn up in a proper track car, unfortunately you become a target for other people with high end machinery!
  17. Here is my 3 car garage: * Daily beater/project - 2006 Ford Focus Sport (£200) (100hp, 5 speed manual) * Wife's car/slightly more powerful beater - 2008 Kia Cee'd SR-7 (£1999) (124hp, 5 speed manual) * Track slag - 2013 Ford Fiesta ST (~240hp, 6 speed manual and a boot load of mods) Since the first two aren't interesting, i'll share my track slag: Mods list: Collins Performance Stage 2 map Mountune intake/high flow airbox Mountune intercooler GFB Turbo diverter valve Custom 3" catback Pumaspeed baffled sump Mountune/Powerflex mounts/bushes Mountune short shift KW ST XTA adjustable suspension WaveTrac LSD EBC disks, PBS ProComp pads and EBC braided lines Team Dynamics Pro 1.2 wheels w/ Yokohama AD08R semis Custom brake ducting from fog lights
  18. Grosjean is a liability. He's basically Maldonado, but he doesn't even have the occasional good race. His only entertainment factor is the fact he plants it in the armco every now and again. But, even then, Maldonado did it in more spectacular fashion. F1 need to push the US Government to reduce economic sanctions on Venezuela, so that PDVSA have enough green to sponsor Maldonado again. Then, buy out Grosjean's seat.
  19. Have you tried the modified Xonar drivers? They're called UNi Xonar. I found them to be stable and have a choice of different interfaces from a basic low latency to a full front end UI.
  20. Okay, managed to figure that one out myself. Apparently related to not having adaptive or optimal power mode selected. However, it seems you need to reboot to have it take effect which Nvidia software doesn't tell you.
  21. Slightly different issue, I have noticed that the card isn't downclocking at idle. So even on desktop, it sits at 1605Mhz/1750Mhz (core/mem) with no utilisation. I am using two monitors, a basic 1080p 60hz IPS and 1440p 155hz TN. Anyone know why this may be?
  22. Nice one, thanks. Yeah, apparently it's boost. Seems to be hitting a power limit (as indicated by MSI AB), as opposed to temp limit !
  23. So as per the only other thread, I bought a 2070 Super... which according to this page has a "boost clock" of 1785mhz https://www.novatech.co.uk/products/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-2070-super-windforce-oc-8gb-graphics-card/gv-n207swf3oc-8gd.html It's not a typo as all other sites seem to say the same. However, in games I see GPU clock as high as 1965mhz... which is a huge amount more. I guess I don't understand graphics cards, but could someone explain why this happens, or for what reason?
  24. Had my hi-fi system for years now, still happy with it. Unfortunately the RCA jacks on my DAC have died, but I can just use XLR output and convert to RCA on amp. I use it mainly on my TV, don't really have sub turned on unless it's for music or a film Cambridge Audio DACMagic 2 Cambridge Audio 540A amp Wharfedale 9.1 speakers Canton 10.2 SubWoofer Can't see myself ever upgrading it until something dies. I suspect any improvement would be minor and I really don't care thaaaaaaaaat much about audio
  25. I've got a bog standard Filco Majestouch 2 with blues. I had the original Majestouch before. I am eyeing up this cheap tenkeyless board from G.Skill which apparently has genuine Cherry keys in. I find full length is a bit annoying now for low DPI gaming.
