  1. I'll wait to see how this is implemmented. At a minimum I imagine it will require root access to install the game and the associated anti-cheat binaries. How the system handles it after that will be interesting. I'm not relly an online gamer, so I really don't have a dog in the fight other than being happy to see some movement away from Windows.
  2. 100M PPD is awesome. I'll have a bit of a late start, but I should be able to get a few more GPUs fired up tonight.
  3. Thanks @ENTERPRISE and Corsair for the prize. Quick mini review. I'm looking for a new set of caps for this, and then it will probably go full time on my KVM. The function keys and the RGB is in hardware, so I have had no issues testing it plugged in to my KVM and using it with my Linux machines. There is an open source alternative to Corsair's iCUE software (ckb-next), but it doesn't look like I'll need to run it. There are a fair number of default RGB profiles, and since RGB will pretty much always be off, the defaults are fine for me. All of my boards have been browns for a long time, so it is a little weird typing on linear switches. All in all it is a nice little board and feels solid to type on. Thanks again for the prize
  4. In addition to the GPU index you can also set the OpenCl/CUDA index in the client. Provided Windows doesn't do random things with the PCIe slots every boot, you should be able to set the client to only recognize the slot that has your ETF card. *Edit* I can post a quick how-to when I get home and I'm not on my phone.
  5. Just got back in cell service, and I'll catch up on everything tomorrow. I have 10 or maybe 11 AMD GPUs, so I'll sort that out this week.

  7. Is anyone folding on the same GPUs they were using back in the day on OCN? I can't get my 980 stable at the same clocks, but I think it might just be the newer CUDA WUs are a bit more demanding and less tolerant of the clocks I was running on it before.
  8. Back home for a few days. 980 still folding away. Just set it to finish the current WU to do a quick OS update, and then it will be back up and folding. No errors for the last 6 days since I dropped the clocks. **Edit** Forgot I had set the slot to finish, and went to bed without updating the OS and restarting the slot. Back up and running now after that silly 10 hour layoff, but the race with @BWG is now very tight.
  9. I will be out of town and without internet access for a good portion of this month. 980 is chugging along, and unless there is an extended power outage, it should just keep on folding. I dialed the clocks back a few clicks before the start of the month, and it has been stable with zero errors for the last few days.
  10. You are the lone non-Polaris GPU. It is still fairly tight in that Cat, and there's lots of time to make a move. Are you running a 5700 or a 5700XT? I thought it was a 5700, but the stats site lists it as a 5700XT.
  11. What does the log look like around that time? Maybe an unstable OC? From the two screenshots it looks like it went back a few steps after that crazy high tpf/ppd at 34%.

  13. Nice work this month team. My ppd dropped a bit yesterday. I was trying to push the 980 a bit further on air, and had a few errors. Dropped the clocks back down a bit for now for stability, and I might throw the GPU back on my other test bench so I can run it under water.
  14. I'm in Linux, so not sure what the Windows equivalent would be. For monitoring folding I monitor the log for "nan" which will catch all nan errors, and is useful if you are running the GPU right at the edge of stability. I also monitor and alert for GPU errors, but I have no idea how that would work on windows. For anyone running AMD on Linux (with SystemD) here's a few commands to parse the journal for folding and GPU errors: $ journalctl -b0 -u foldingathome -g nan $ journalctl -p3 -b0 -g amdgpu
  15. Is the USB error a windows error, or do you get the error at post? If you can get into the BIOS try disabling the USB ports one by one and see if the error goes away. One of the controllers might have just bit the dust.

  17. You should be able to boot from a Windows iso and fix it with Start Up Repair.
  18. The K5000's were pretty were intersting GPUs. It's a full GK104 die, but it's just down-clocked to hit low TDP numbers. I got to play with a few of them back in 2013. The lack of dp killed them for our project, but they are pretty boss for this comp. Most of the K5000s are good chips, so the OC potential is really high.

  21. If you want to keep it on the inexpensive side, just use barb fittings with clamps, or even zip ties, with how low the pressure is on PC water cooling loops. Many modern day water cooling components are just pretty garbage that's priced high, since it's a "premium" hobby. Personally, I like monsoon free center fittings, since I have found the barb side to be slightly overbore and/or the collar to be underbore. They also have a double barb which helps to ensure that the tube is properly compressed against the fitting. This makes them harder to snug all the way down on most EPDM or ZMT tubing, but in the many fittings I've installed (many hundreds at this stage) I've never had one leak.
  22. Glad you didn't wash away in the floods. No worries on the downtime. I know how it goes with mother nature. You can pretty much count me out for at least a few weeks every winter, since I'll inevitably lose internet and/or power for extended periods of time. Good to see those GPUs up and running.
