...I actually thought it was pretty funny myself; and now I know what to get you for xmas this year:

bungholio 3.0, eh? also see (for a good laugh--amazed though at how well he pulls these off):
  4. It's been years, but I went through a few laptops by way of what was posted in the notebookreview forum. The last one I bought, a Lenovo W530, was purchased and fully decked out by me in 2012, and is still purring away on my desk. Shame about that forum being shut down.
  5. Could use any water block or cooler you wanted. It basically raises the area around the CPU to be level so any cooler can now be used. This is for 9th gen but same principal
  6. Which way is best for QDC's. Water flowing from a male to a female or the other way around, or does it even matter? I'm interested before I switch from QDC3's to QDC4's. With 6 D5's at 25% I get 0.5GPM, running them at max is only 1.2GPM and dumps way to much heat to be worth it. I'm hoping for a drastic increase upgrading to QDC4's but not expecting much since I'm running 90's off every pump inlet/outlet which that alone is my main issue.
  7. The new Jack Reacher series on Amazon is definitely worth a watch if you have access.
  8. I say just jump into the deep end. Get the Yggdrasi, pair it with Freya + and add the Loki Max for EQ. I'd say add 5 Aegir's but that might be going to far lol
  9. A few corrections. Running a sound card and a DAC only is pointless unless you want the software for the soundcard as you can only use one DAC. A soundcard is just a internal DAC/AMP and headphone amp. An external one is just that, external, though by going external you can break up the DAC/AMP/HPA parts. Since the z5500 are powered they don't need an AMP they just need software to convert the signal to 5.1. Using an external one like the Schiit Hel is a DAC/AMP/HPA that connects via USB. It's safe to assume it has a better DAC then most mid or lower tier MB's, and 100% to have a better headphone amp. As I said if you want to run 5.1 you just use software to do it, will be no different then a soundcard or how a home theatre receiver does it. It just takes up space.
  10. If that block can get 15c I'm just imagining what Optimus Sig2 would get if there was a direct die mount. Am going to get on Rockitcool's case to make one ASAP. My main issue with this block is you either have to reglue the coldplate back to the CPU ala the IHS or let the MB's ILM hold it it in place. I'd much rather just use a dedicated mount like I had for my Z390
  11. Supercool Computers Direct-Die waterblock and delid tool for Intel Alder Lake Review| Intel Core i9-12900K in Pain WWW.IGORSLAB.DE Ever smaller manufacturing processes lead to ever higher thermal densities in CPUs and GPUs. This is one of the reasons why Intel's... Said to offer a 15c improvment. Sadly only way to contact them is via FB atm, so not sure how sketchy they are. Block is 2,750 baht or $83.27USD Delid Tool is 1,800 baht or $54.50USD If this isn't news or doesn't belong here please move it.
  12. I hope it's because of laughter. If not, blame @Avacado.
  13. Saw that your experience seems pretty good thus far with the Phanteks block on the 3090 Strix OC and think I'm going to order their block/backplate bundle. Anything I should watch out for when mounting it? I'll be making my own backplate out of 1/8" (0.125") copper plate and adding some additional cooling to it (combo of (e.g.) waterblock mounted directly to the rear memory chips & (e.g.) skived copper heatsink(s) added to the rest of that plate), so having the Phanteks backplate on hand will make laying out the artwork for the copper plate that much easier. I also thought about using Optimus, but it really isn't an option for me because of primarily (a) their obvious lack of customer service, and; (b) the apparent weeping/seeping issues some have been experiencing since Optimus moved from nickel plating to Cerakote. Anyway, TIA for whatever you can add.
  14. I had one of those back in the day. That sub just POUNDS.
  15. Skip the sound card Schiit Audio: Audio Products Designed and Built in California WWW.SCHIIT.COM The Fulla is the cheaper model. 1/8 to triple RCA cables should work. Sound cards are generally overpriced for what you get, if you really want or require onboard sound then next time plan ahead if possible and use the money you would spend on the sound card on a better MB with better onboard sound. Still you can't beat going with a USB DAC. If you need soundsound then software should be good enough for that
  16. I'll have you know that my farts are actually fairly animated. Thousands of posts about them, awarded millions of thumbs up.
  17. I told you, you get the KPE once I'm dust in the wind and not a slight draft sooner. Now behave yourself, youngin.
  18. Time to dust this thread off and get back to basics. 3090 Strix OC showed up. At first glance, it appears more massive than the KPE 3090, but that's mostly because of its huge air cooler (vs. that of the hybrid version of the KPE). Newegg's packaging was tight, and all OEM seals were intact, with no obvious QC issues noticed up front (e.g., scratches, etc.). Mentioning that because of the video posted by GN's Steve earlier today about issues he and others have experienced with Newegg's support services/RMAs. Some of you may have already seen that video. Anyway, plans are to mount this 3090 on my SR3 dark and see what it will do. Will also be researching available blocks for the card, and ginning up a water cooled, copper backplate for it, like I did for the KPE.
  19. A few from my Grandpas Can Be Cool collection: ...and one from the bottom shelf:
  20. Long Before Halo, Pepperidge Farm remembers picking up a copy of Bungie's Marathon at Egghead Software. Back then it was state of the art.
  21. should be here weds. if it's not, probably won't be until after the storm that's coming Thursday.
  22. Think they should be able to tell by serial number. If it's an issue can always contact them for a new one.
  23. Are you sure you don't have one of the defective ones from the first batch? The clicking was due to a part being crushed when first put together, otherwise it should be near silent under 1GPM. Mine is dead silent even with my ear pressed against it at 0.56GPM. At 1GPM I do hear it faintly. The older model was actually quieter at lower flow rates but had to be vertical. Still it's by far the best one to buy. If you have an Aquero, Quadro/Octo then I'd recommend the older model if you can find one third party if you can't find the new one in stock.
