NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Lite Hash Rate (LHR) has been fully unlocked

Bad new for us / Good new for nvidia.

We are going to end up with the same issue with the 4000 serie if they don't find a ways to block mining.... Scalper everywhere.

Ok I'll be that guy. Nvidia should not be artificial limiting the performance of their cards for any reason. I think its clear LHR did not do a thing to curb mining during the 30-series anyway. I say that as someone who doesn't mine, but as someone who recognizes that if you as a gamer buy a card and want to mine on the side...why shouldn't you be able to?

 

At this point, cryptocurrencies just need to be forced off of proof of work mining because on the large scale its hugely wasteful of energy.

I somewhat agree. Some Digital Currency Like banano is using folding@home and Nano just do not use any mining.  

The electricity use should be illegal for big installation of mining.

 

All that electricity lost make no sense.

I guess my thought is that the limiter only hurt the gamer who mined overnight or on the side to buy some games or what have you. 

 

These big operations continued to buy cards by the pallet load directly and they still get an ROI.

 

Limiter didn't hurt them at all. Cracked or uncracked. Didn't matter.

I personally don't see an issue with consuming gobs of electricity and don't think it should be illegal. There are many other things that are legal and far more harmful in the grand scheme of things.

It increase price up and with electric vehicle coming it really a bad idea. We have mining farm here in canada that are close to city and they are so noisy people sell their house.

In some country people can't even afford Electricity.

The problem is the abuse of power and taking of freedom. Bad leaders/politicians allow power to go to their head and they anoint themselves as gods to make far too many decisions they have no business making. It might be crypto today, but overclocking and high performance computers and fast cars tomorrow.

That what am afraid too. It getting worse with everything already. But we still are getting scammed everywhere.

The right to repair that the gov do not seem to want to fight for and many other thing.

I don't know where we are going. Am afraid we end up stuck at home with no more car no more freedom.

 

Damn world we live in
