SK hynix has announced the development of a new HBM3 product boasting an industry-leading memory capacity of 24GB.

The memory product features high-capacity and high-performance, achieved through the stacking of 12 DRAM chips.

Customers are currently evaluating samples of the product's performance. SK hynix aims to solidify its position as a leader in the cutting-edge DRAM market by completing preparation for mass production by the first half of 2023.

Were it not for the high price of HBM/3, it would look great on some gaming setups...

However, at least for now, this is more likely for the enterprise / AI crowd (currently NV Hopper and AMD, Intel competing products and their successors) as they all seem to move towards a sort of 'ersatz' compute in memory by having memory as close to the compute die as possible.
