Even if the Ryzen and EPYC processors as well as the custom chips for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 are currently in focus, AMD also offers special solutions for an area that not everyone has on the screen. In early 2019, AMD introduced the Athlon A6 and A4 processors, which were intended for Chromebooks. The market for Chromebooks has since grown, especially in the school sector, so that AMD is now introducing several successors in the various categories with the Athlon and Ryzen C series.

The previous A-Series processors are kept for the entry-level range. For the middle class, the Athlon processors of the C series are planned and the new Ryzen processors of the C series are positioned in the premium segment. This brings the Ryzen brand into this Chromebook market segment.

This could be quite the boon for Chromebooks for the general populous who just consumes media or doing remote learning in a mostly web-based environment.
