But PCI-e 1x Tho. How is that not a 16x card with 4xHDMI outs?

That's exactly why I have to have it.  This thing doesn't make any sense and I want to get a close look at the PCB to see what's going on here before I install it.

Looks nice. That KVM at 30Hz is going to piss you off though, should really try to get at least 60Hz. I have been in the market to get a 4K OLED 144Hz 34", but i'm not willing to pay >$1000 until my 2K 120Hz dies.

Oh damn, good catch.  I am going to be running 1080p monitors so it shouldn't be an issue (hopefully).  We'll see how it goes I suppose

This is mostly down to @Simmons as he is the one who did most of the work.

Do we know what his status is at the moment, admittedly I have not caught up with him lately. Depending on his schedule, I would like to see if he is still up for the Podcast.

Hey sorry for the radio silence again recently, just got started with the new job, and finally getting settled in my new location.  Definitely still interested in kicking things off again.

I think we've had this feature long ago in the earlier stages of EHW.  My question is, could we potentially revisit this in 2023?

We could start off by doing say short 15-30 minute video "hang out" podcasts where we just have membership on (that want to be a part), and we just chat tech, overclocking, tech news, whatever.  We kind of already do this on the discord server kinda regularly.  Thought it'd be neat to have an official, structured outlet that we could use to further the site's potential reach and maybe company involvement in the future.  It'd be really cool to be able to have a Q/A session for example with someone at, I don't know, Cooler Master or EVGA or any of our sponsors we've had, to allow the enthusiast buyers of their products a direct line of communication.  Not saying company reps would be a regular thing, but there's plenty of youtubers that do these kinds of things all on their own.

Maybe I'm thinking about this too late in the video podcast game?  Idk, just shooting ideas off as I'm sitting here watching tech youtubers and thinking....we could do this, and we could do it better. -_-  Personally, I think if pulled off just right, it could potentially benefit not only EHW, but it could also potentially benefit any companies that came on with us too.  Who knows how to improve tech products better than the tech communities, modders, and overclockers?

Maybe we're also not quite there yet with EHW.  Maybe we'll never go there?  Idk.....again, was just a random idea. 🙂

There are some specific details regarding the podcast that we should probably have in a private discussion, but I am definitely willing to get it going again!

I elected to switch over to the livestreamed podcast at some point, as my favorite part of the old OCN podcast was joining the voice chat in the old teamspeak, and live contributing to the conversation as a viewer.  I would absolutely be willing to entertaining recording the podcast in a live setting again, and setting some baseline guidelines for how the hosts handle the conversations.  The Q/A suggestion is also a fantastic one.

For now, I will reach out to a couple folks privately to work out some details, and will provide an update here once we work a couple things out.

So the astrolokeys set was lost in the mail. Took a refund and bought a different AliExpress special. This time an Evangelion theme.

The glorious lynx are smooth and quiet but it turns out I still don't like light linears. The magical girl tactile switches are really nice so I'll swap all the switches over to those at some point

Clearly I don't know how to read or see because I am just now noticing the Eva themed keycaps.  This build looks absolutely amazing!

  5. I am still shocked that this thing is running as good as it is, all things considered.

    • Rear suspension needs adjusting. It's far too stiff, even on grass. This shouldn't make it fail the MOT but tbh it should be a fail although there's no way to really test for this. Suspension much stiffer on the rear than the front, especially on a RWD car, makes it prone to oversteer. Not only that, but it has increased danger of having a blow out going through a pothole. Luckily this is relatively easy to fix. I just need to soften the damper settings. It's a shame it's not like the front suspension with super easy access. I need to remove the rear seat again to get to the adjustment knobs.

I would check to make sure your suspension isn't mounted backwards /s

Do I actually have to log into OCN and send a DM to gain access to the discord?

We will be removing that requirement, no need to worry.

I would like the HWbot section to be mirrored the way it is on the EHW currently if possible. Problem is that while you may combine the discord servers, the HWbot teams are still segregated. Hopefully this can be accomplished, but it feels a bit deflating as I have no interest in making announcements for or participating in OCN related HWbot affairs.

The bulk majority of OCN related content will be removed, effectively giving EHW a much larger server in the long run.  The plan for this migration is a general rebrand of the server, and OCN specific channels and chats will either be archived or removed.

The end goal is to have the OCN server essentially modeled after the current EHW server.

We do not have all of the details hashed out just yet for the migration, but any specific requests that you all have, we will take in this thread.

Will this effect Jan boosting the server?

Yes.  @iamjanco I would strongly suggest moving your boosts over to the OCN server once we begin the transition process.  We will not be shutting the EHW server down immediately, so there will be a bit of a grace period once we establish a timeline for the migration.

  8. Despite all of the circumstance with the downfall of OCN, I am really happy with the community that we have established here on EHW and I look forward to being able to actively participate in the forum now that I am moving to a new job which is primarily telework.  Would love to get back into F@H once my income begins flowing again, though I know my hardware is so severely outdated being matched to the old OCN TC categories.  I really need to get caught up on the happenings in here lol

OMG! You recovered from your butterscotch accident! When are the podcasts going to start back up?

Hmm... I wonder who started that rumor....

That is a fantastic question. Once I get resituated, I will definitely be talking with the crew to see if/when we get that started back up.

  10. Well folks, my apologies for my absence, but I just scraped through the thread, and I am fairly confident I have the list updated!  No changes to my audio setup lately as I am about to move across the country in about a month.  Nothing is really going to change with my setup, but a new location warrants new pics.  So I guess I have that to look forward to!

EDIT: Just finally got the spreadsheet embed corrected!
