  1. Currently have 3 PCs listed with 2 more planned pending parts. All are B550 motherobards with wifi, 2TB nvme ~5000mb/s SSDs, 32GBs 3600mhz DDR4 ram/ Thermaltake 700w PSUs. PC 1: 5600X / 3060 12GB listed for $950 PC 2: 5700X / 3060 12GB listed for $1050 PC 3: 5700X / 3070 8GB listed for $1150 Took some pics for the listing new pics for the listings. Here are a few:
  2. AMD Unveils Radeon RX 7700 XT and 7800 XT Graphics cards at $449 and $499 and FSR3 update (guru3d.com) Pirces seem reasonable. I suspect the 7700XT will come down in price like the 7900XT did.
  3. That's the plan! And that's what I have been doing, just one at a time before now. With just one listed at a time so far, when one has sold that means there is nothing listed again for a week or two while I wait for the sale clear and reorder parts and all that. Now I won't have those gaps in listings, unless all the listings sell within a few days of each other.
  4. No not yet, these are not even listed yet. Going to take some good pics of them all soon and then list them all on Etsy at the same time and see what happens. I've got two more on top of these three to build that are still waiting on parts. I'm hoping that having a few different options will help them sell pretty quick. Basically I'm past the "will it sell?" phase and moving into the "how many can I sell?" phase.
  5. So not launching with Starfield like a lot of people thought, but still not far away. Pretty interested to see how it holds up.
  6. Welcome. What are your specs?
  7. There is still a noticeable lag time between when a light changes colors and when that color is applied to the environment, and I find that to be really distracting. Having shadows or lighting that doesn't line up quite right is a lot less noticeable that light effects that move slowly.
  8. Anyone here looking forward to Armored Core 6? I just pre-ordered it. I played a lot of the AC games on PS2, always loved that series. Pretty excited to play a new one. ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON | PC - Steam | Game Keys (greenmangaming.com) 10% off with code: AUG17 Total: ~$50 USD
  9. NVIDIA DLSS Accelerates This Fall’s Biggest Games, Including Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III & PAYDAY 3 WWW.NVIDIA.COM DLSS 3.5 also coming this fall to Chaos Vantage, D5 Render, and NVIDIA Omniverse. And Half-Life 2 RTX... Not sure why they wouldn't apply this to DLSS2. Do we need frame gen to have ray reconstruction? With FSR3 believed to be around the corner, Nvidia just won't let AMD catch a break.
  10. 5 PCs worth of parts on the way ranging from GeForce 3060 12GB/5600x config to GeForce 3080 10GB/Ryzen 7700. so weird that the low end has more ram.
  11. In other news: Nvidia generates up to 1,000% profit for each H100 GPU sold WWW.TECHSPOT.COM For every H100 GPU accelerator sold, Nvidia appears to be making a remarkable profit, with reported margins reaching 1,000 percent of production costs. Tae Kim, a senior...
  12. Democratize AI: turn a $95 chip into a 16GB VRAM GPU! Beats most of the discrete GPUs! | by Ttiotech | Aug, 2023 | Medium TLDR: AI needs a decent amount of Vram to work. GPUs with enough Vram are expensive. This is a way around that problem.
  13. UT2003/2004/UT3 are pretty much all perfect games IMO. 2003 was perfect; and then 2004, being a bit of a rehash just added such an insane amount of content to make up for it. UT3 is in a different league though because it still looks good today, unlike the others. If they re-released it on current gen consoles in 4K with a few minor updates similar to the Quake II Remaster, I bet it would do pretty well. The fact that it got removed from steam kinda suggest they might do something like that soon. I would be super stoked if something like that happened. Some old lady had this when I did a repair for her and she just wanted to get rid of it. When I saw it, I knew it the main parts would make good collector's items. That board is pretty unique with the DDR1 and 2 slots. IDE and SATA. P4 to C2D. Kind of a slutty board.
  14. I have that UT4 box in my closet with all of the 100+ CDs it came with. Freaking miss Unreal Tournament. Wish they would make a new one, but UT3 was perfect.
  15. Yea, this was talked about a while ago. If the FSR2 implementation is good, not really a big deal. I suspect it will be since it's such a big game. Still a bit of a let down. I bet DLSS will be added via mods pretty quickly.
  16. HP will face class-action for bricking all-in-one printers when ink is low WWW.TECHSPOT.COM A federal judge has ruled that HP will have to face a class-action lawsuit accusing them of intentionally disabling scanning and faxing features on its all-in-one printers... I started telling customers to avoid HP printers when they started requiring the HP Smart app for lower end models.
  17. Just scored a 5600X for $108 on ebay. Usually they got for $~150, maybe $130 if you get lucky with an auction. Sometimes sellers just want to sell though, and are not interested in playing the ebay system to maximize their profits. This listing was pretty recent, lucky I saw it before someone else did. Got the GeForce 3060 12GB for $230 yesterday.
  18. I've used FSR a lot and the biggest difference I've seen is that FSR2 is not evenly effective across different games. DLSS relies on machine learning profiles to be effective for each game. FSR2 is manually setup by the artists/dev so its quality is a lot more variable. I've seen games where FSR2 works extremely well, and ones where it doesn't work well at all. When it's well implemented, IMO it can be extremely close to DLSS quality. Good implementations: Ghostwire Tokyo, The Last of Us Bad implementations: Cyberpunk, God of War
  19. Second Etsy PC sale went well. No issues with shipping this time. The customer did reach out to me because he had some questions about setting it up, but there were no issues. He let me know this is his first real gaming PC. Next PC will actually be slightly lower spec. Basically, the same as the last PC except it will be a GeForce 3060 12GB and probably a 5600X CPU and a 700w PSU instead of a 750w. Will probably aim to sell it for $1000 on Etsy (plus $100 shipping fee). If this one sells for $1000, it will give me a slightly higher margin than the last one.
  20. Context: UL Solutions Launches 3DMark Solar Bay, New Cross-Platform Ray Tracing Benchmark (guru3d.com)
  21. AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7945WX, 7985WX and 7995WX Zen 4 gets 350W TDP (guru3d.com) Not a part of the market I spend any time in myself, but it's great to see competition.
  22. Given that, imagine how much worse they would do in the top tier segment.
  23. The 7900XT is going for $700 now, and the XTX is going for less than $1000. They did have bad prices at launch, but they're priced well now. People keep thinking AMD only doing mid range makes sense for AMD because: AMD doesn't have a good offering for the top tier right now mid range is by far the largest part of the market It's not a "winning" strategy though, no one would expect AMD to win this race anytime soon. It's a reasonable strategy given where they're at. I don't think their market share shrunk because they aren't doing a 4090 competitor, their market share shrunk because they have been consistently late to market with hardware and software features, and generally have worse offerings than Nvidia overall. I'm happy with my 7900XT and it just happened to be the price range I was looking for at the time, but at almost any other price point I probably would have gone with Nvidia.
