  1. There will be a lot of returns from people once cards come out with more VRAM.

I am not sure how many companies will follow the EVGA strategy and allow step up choices.

I hope we do not go back to the early 2000 days where bigger vram was not paired with the correct design.

I know ATI and NVIDIA had cards with a BUS that would not be fast enough to take advantage of the big selling point which was 512 MB VRAM.

  2. Hmm probably topic of the month.

I still have in my storage area :

    1. Pentium 4 Northwood System

    2. Pentium 4 Prescott System

    3. AMD Barton System with an Asus Deluxe that caught fire.

    4. Modems/Routers : alcatel, to zyxel to Netgear to TPLINK and my latest FritzBox.

    5. Computer screens : 14 inch LCDs to 27 inch ones (there are 7 of them).

    6. Printers : I have 4 in total with just one being used.

    7. Keyboards : Original Cherry white gray, a few HP ones, a few logitech ones, and a bunch of Razer.

    8. Cables : Lost track but from Floppy to Sata 6.

    9. GPUS : MX 440, ATI 9700, 8800 GT, AMD 5870, AMD 4890XXX, AMD 270x, AMD 280X

    10. Coolers : My Northwood and Prescott had an interesting tunnel cooler from coolermaster. I got some Thermalright TRUE and a bunch of Noctua in storage as well.

I will need these one day :)

  3. If you the folding guru cannot say what is wrong how can we mere mortals help?

The latest version of W10 from Microsoft is a bit wonko.
I am not sure if third party devs are to blame or Microsoft but my machine is weird too.

USB peripherals bugs, Discord locking my machine, etc.

    Format c:\ ?

While some of your post is accurate, some sounds suspect.

Can you provide links or proof about BSODs? Ive not seen anything about that. (are you talking about big navi, or some old usless previous gpu review?)

    Hey,

Sorry the notification system here is not my best friend.
Apologies did not see your post.

I checked a few of the videos now on youtube and they seem to be offline.

What I found any remnant of BSODS was the one form Jay2cents where he says he is not very happy with the AMD software because when he overlocks he gets a lot of BSODS. Or was it Steve from GN? I looked through all the videos I saw this past week and my head is a jumbled mess.

  5. While the performance speaks for itself, we need to be realistic and acknowledge that the NVIDIA eco system is used by everyone. CUDA and NVENC are just a few that are de facto today. AMD as always has good hardware but little support in terms of software. Plenty of influencers tried to blow out of proportion these improvements to minimize the real cons of this:

    1. BSODs galore when performing their reviews

    2. Video encoding quality and performance extremely poor

    3. Ray tracing, almost as bad as the first NVIDIA iteration of the feature, if not worse.

    4. SAM is not big whoop in many cases

This is sad because the hardware is amazing.

The price of the product reflects clearly that at this point in time the AMD solutions do less.
