  1. Here's the current PC. Wil be reusing the same case, so thinking 360 at top double the thickness of the current 240 rad you see with push fans. I think I have room for it. But will absolutely doublecheck on space in back and front for sure. Great advice. In-case wondering, this was all transplanted from my old smaller case which was becoming a vibration ridden mess, hence the small rads. Not pictured: I do have some intake fans on the bottom. But new build will put rads on top and bottom and I think res/pump will try to shift down a bit if I can get away with it with intake fans where that side rad is right now, and probably intake on the bottom as well with top in push exhaust.
  2. Was that one of those 5770's that had the bracket for Macs? I have a couple 5770's still and they were just bare PCB on the back.
  3. Part of me doesn't like this, but the fact that mining on the whole has moved towards massive data center farms instead of a gamer doing it in the spare time (although that still exists obviously) to the point that it has by a significant margin affected the GPU market, well, here's hoping these actually wind up with gamers instead of AIB's selling these to miners by the pallet.
  4. Right, but keep in mind the MSRP quoted from AMD is their normal world MSRP. These things will go for far more in the current climate from AIB's and 3rd party sellers in terms of the current GPU climate and pricing market. So assuming that didn't exist, the $480 is absurd. I'm sure it will more double in price though. My nephew bought a 6800 (not even an XT) for like $1100 on NewEgg which I thought was outrageous. His money though. EDIT: I guess it could also be a $380 card + the US tariff tacked on? Not sure how that works since I noticed Nvidia FE cards are still being sold for original MSRP on BB.
  5. Good to know! I definitely plan to run fans at low RPM. I water cool mostly for running quiet PC's...but also because its fun and I am ruined for air cooling ?. Thanks, will keep a look out. That one has a lot of ports.
  6. Plugging along getting parts for my upcoming build. One of the things I need to look at is radiators. I will be using a Lian Li O11-D (regular, not the XL) and my current plan is a thicker 360 at the top of the case (not crazy thick, but probably twice as thick as my XSPC EX240 rads) and a thinner/regular sized rad on the bottom or the side depending on where I can best fit things without too many clearance issues. I'm not real in the know on what radiators are the best or what to stay away from (aside from EK) these days. Mainly just don't want anything too restrictive as I like silent PCs so don't run my D5 pump on full. I do have a blitz kit to clean whatever I end up with so not too concerned there. So what do you guys like?
  7. Oh that is one of my all time favs too. Probably my second favorite of theirs after Astronomy Domine (I just like the sound of this one).
  8. Yeah guess that's true. While I remember these PC's, was before I really got into them.
  9. Yeah in terms of PCs we had a Pentium II, and I believe a few Athlon or Athlon 64, and a couple Pentium 4's. I don't recall us having any earlier AMD like K6.
  10. No doubt. I listened to that earlier today.
  11. Ah dang, one of the PC's I grew up with had one of those. All those PC's got moved into the shed and sat there for years. Then when my Mom moved out of that house a couple years back, pulled the hard drives out and junked them all. (We had lots of PC's when I was growing up in the early 2000's.)
  12. I actually need to find an e-waste place. I have some 5770's I'm sure are not worth the effort to find someone to buy them for $20. The first computer I remember using as a kid I believe was a 486. My Mom was doing the work from home thing on that back in the early 90's lol. I think she used that until she got a Pentium II machine as I remember it was that slotted in cartridge design. Next PC I remember was an Athlon or Athlon 64 (I honestly don't remember which).
  13. Went down the Pink Floyd hole today. I still think this is my favorite song of theirs.
  14. Looking forward to playing this (inching closer to new build). I live around Denver and saw a video on youtube of a guy doing a Cessna flyover various areas of the city/metro and my god it looks exactly like it does in real life.
  15. All still in boxes for now, but they will be coming!
  16. Just ordered a G.Skill 32GB DDR4-3600 CL16 RAM kit from local Micro Center for the new build. Found searching for b die very confusing and an exercise in much futility. Once I get that, can finally test all the new parts and make sure they work.
  17. My AM4 Optimus block shipped yesterday. I just got my Alphacool 3070 block on Wednesday. Still need to get two triple radiators, fans, and then figure out what I am doing for tubing and fittings. I think I can fit a thicker radiator on top with a thinner/standard radiator on the bottom. I don't do push/pull usually opting for just push.
  18. Yeah this is part of the Blitz kit I mentioned and I should have been more specific, this is the rad one. I believe you can get it by itself.
  19. I don't agree. Put aside crazy GPU climate for a moment and look at these supposed MSRP's. For something very much mid-range on a 192-bit bus and a replacement of the 5700XT it is very much overpriced in my opinion. AIB cards will push $600+ probably.
  20. Blitz kit or else I sometimes do a diluted white vinegar solution and then lots of flushing.
  21. I still almost want to buy a PS4 to try out the VR missions on Ace Combat 7 (which I played main game of on a PC).

Hot damn, that is some ingenuity right there.
