  1. Of minimal performance increase over the 3070 for much more money. As egregious as the 3080Tie? No. But still of bad value.
  2. I finally feel comfortable migrating from my 8.1 box to 10 when I get the new build rig. I did not feel comfortable participating in the free upgrade when it first came out as I had horrible driver issues with my laptop after upgrading it to 10.
  3. Love the "tie" jokes. Anyway I just don't get this card. Titans at least somewhat made sense as a halo product with some maybe flimsy but at least driver level differentiations from mainline GeForce products that made it a halo product in the GeForce lineup, but still prosumer. The 3090 is not a Titan and it merely having 24GB is not what defines it as a Titan or not. In reality there is what...maybe 10% difference between the 3080 and the 3090? Them now slotting something inside that 10% slot and pricing it the way they are is odd to me. Frankly neither the 3080Ti or the 3090 should exist as halo products. Going back to the 780Ti, 980Ti, 1080Ti, and even the 2080Ti, they offered sizable performance increases a whole tier above the base xx80 part. So not only is the 3080Ti the most expensive xx80Ti part ever, it offers the least performance over a base xx80 part ever, in single digits. And you damn well know they will be making more 3090's and 3080Ti's than 3080's with their GA-102 dies now. This whole gen makes no sense in general. Now gamers getting screwed by crypto miners, shortages, etc. now have Nvidia to thank for further screwing.
  4. I realize thread title is from article, but its literally a 3090 with half the VRAM for buku bucks. If this is for gamers, its Nvidia taking the piss out of the current market and their "mistake" business wise, of launching Ampere at the price points they did. Strictly speaking MSRPs, does a $1200 xx80 Ti class card sound familiar? ?
  5. I'm not talking MSRPs or FE's strictly speaking here. Have heard of cheaper than 3080Ti 3090's. Heard of a guy getting a FTW3 3090 for $100 cheaper than a 3080Ti Strix.
  6. Ok, yeah was going to ask why one would be against repair.
  7. So now that they hit 1nm, where does one go from there?
  8. We saw Lord of the Rings, all three movies, again in theaters a couple months back, and this week got around to doing a soundtrack listen again. This one is still my favorite: Also saw they had an alternative version not used:
  9. Was really fun to watch him mod the 2070 and 3070. Vik-On really knows what he's doing and has the right equipment for it.
  10. I am cautiously optimistic. If they can pull this off right, will be nice to see another player in that market.
  11. I was going to ask if Jay Leno was the father. ?
  12. Was replaying Subnautica. Not normally into this kinda music, but it just works and is pretty catchy if you've ever played this game.
  13. It's already started. The nvme drives I was looking to pickup at Micro Center jumped up like $100 and are almost all out of stock. Think I'll just end up with the Inland drives at this stage.
  14. God, nonsense like this is why I am nervous to build this new PC with Windows 10. I purposely left my current PC on Windows 8.1 where I still have the control on how and when I do updates. Helped I wasn't playing any DX12 games.
  15. I've never played Rust, but I enjoy Dying Light when I am just in the mood to mindlessly bash zombies over the head.
  16. So to be fair, I'm sure this is because that person was not monitoring their coolant temps, but I came across something that gave me a bit of pause. I saw this guy's PETG tubing warp where they fit into the fittings which could cause leaking. At what temperature does the coolant need to be for that to happen? Wondering if the guy was just super negligent and hotboxing his room, or if PETG doesn't have a lot of tolerance? Just wondering PETG vs Acrylic...I get PETG is easier to work with, but seeing that makes me a bit nervous about it.
