  1. Put in for the Newegg shuffle again for both the 5600X, 5800X and the 3070's they have. Won the 5600X, so order is placed. Honestly was hoping for the 5800X or better a 5900X, but will take what I can get and repurpose this down the line if I really need to. Now need to figure out a motherboard. I was able to fully place an order for an ASUS Dark Hero X570 but then got the dreaded email back that they voided it. I liked it since it didn't have the chipset fan. So maybe will look at some B550 boards. I'm not really in the know on AMD boards so will probably need to do some research.
  2. Oh trust me I know. This was stock prior to today. Looks like they got one 5700XT left at the moment.
  3. Micro Center had a couple 5700 XT's today and they were $600. ?
  4. Not surprising really. They are able to sell every single 3090 they can in the current climate, so why sell 102 dies for less.
  5. You joke, but have you not seen this from Razer? https://www.razer.com/concepts/razer-project-hazel
  6. Wow, crazy pricing. What is up with all these covers and "armor" or whatever they call it all over the boards too these days? I actually like seeing my motherboard. Not tacky plastic. Or am I being dumb and that's just the monoblock?
  7. I don't know, anymore most motherboards look the same to me with the silly RGB and all this "armor" and covers all over it. In terms of straight up copying, yeah the ASUS board looks almost identical. The MSI board, I don't see it. Different color and only similarity really is all the covers all over it (when did that trend start?).
  8. I left my Dad's machine on Windows 7 simply because it would be hard for him to relearn a new OS. I do think I will just have to bite the bullet on that one and move him as he sometimes clicks things he shouldn't. I do worry about security. At home most of my computers in the house are on 10 now. My main PC though is still on 8.1 Pro.
  9. You know, I re-read the article fresh today and I guess I am fine. I suppose the bin could be worse, but otherwise its still just one of the CCD's disabled from a failed 5900X right? My initial concern was a potential situation where 5600X and 5800X were running some cores in both CCD's. I don't know where that idea came from. Concerns withdrawn.
  10. Oh man, remember the rumors flying around about the 7970 using XDR2 before it was announced? ?
  11. Because in the wake of RDNA2, and repeated criticism of the 10GB 3080 and 8GB 3070 and supposed Ti versions of these cards with double the VRAM in the future, it would have been a marketing blunder to then release this as a 6GB card. That said, 12GB on this class of card seems dumb all things considered. Sort of what the deal is now anyway prior to this announcement. 3080 is easily the hardest of the lineup to get. Considering it shares the same 102 die as the 3090, I'm sure Nvidia is plenty happy to keep selling 3090's to gamers seemingly desperate enough to pay for it at $1500+ vs a 3080 at $700+. Prosumers can praise the 3090 all they want but it is clear gamers are buying them up. If gamers stop doing that, I am sure more 3080's would show up and not just for miners. Have 3090's rot on shelves so to speak and you'll see a change. Until then, gamers seem completely willing to pay these high prices for a 3090, so I think Nvidia is perfectly happy to keep making them out of their 102 dies. More money for them. /tinfoil hat
  12. "Hey we know you've never been able to buy any current gen card....so here's next gen!" ?
  13. Let's be honest, lighter budget is getting completely priced out of high end market. It seems many don't even bat an eye paying $1k+ for a GPU anymore.
  14. This won't be any time soon. Damn you 3dfx. Why'd you have to blunder your way into bankruptcy and an Nvidia buyout.
  15. With the idea that this was written with a PR spin on the expectation of being leaked I have to think they still got something out of this even if they had to "walk it back". Scumbag move by Nvidia. Won't matter, every single 30-series card will sell the moment it is available.
  16. Is there really a good reason for all these X570 boards to have that little chipset fan?
  17. Ok they are both grossly overpriced, one worse than the other.
  18. Wow that PCB is tiny. So what I am getting out of this is that the 3060 Ti beats a 2080 Super. Anyway, nice review! FYI - Small error on the table of Ampere cards. Lists 24GB for the 3080.
  19. Very cool (pun intended)! External radiators?
  20. I think I am over it now. AIB models for 6800 XT released with $800 MSRPs. All 17 of them worldwide. What a joke. Between availability and actual pricing, I have no excitement left for this new gen and building a new rig next year to replace this one. Yeah will check back in March and maybe availability will be better. Not counting on pricing being any better. I guess at this stage just not holding my breath.
