had to RMA one of the <1 year old Iron Wolf Pro drives in my NAS and got back a drive that failed <week later, hopefully you have better luck with your drives
  3. this happened then found out my Seasonic Focus Plus 750W wasn't up for a 10900K + 3080 Ti
  4. there's dozens of us! Dingus @486 is in NC too I'm moving in a few weeks though so you two can duke it out and decide who's king of NC
  5. NC, and I meant you were my brother you nincompoop. D'Jango is my and @486's dad too. that's why he's sending me a 3090 Ti right @iamjanco
  6. they closed everything here on Friday because they're forecasting SLEET on Sunday the south is weird ...brother?
  7. home page is still a bit janky it's level and even at >1440p or at 1440p with <90% browser scaling, but at 1440p @ 100% (and I assume <1440p) the titles can still be too long and cause the different height columns. sorry for nit-picking but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  8. open CPU-Z, open task manager, click Details, close explorer.exe, run CPU-Z benchmark, then re-start explorer.exe helps in most CPU benchmarks, should help CPU-Z.
  9. sure it does, more time in a first class OS that people are familiar with and less time in an OS that can't take any meaningful market-share even though it's free most people aren't as proficient in.
  10. Someone should test native Linux F@H performance against Windows running Linux via Hyper-V with DDA. Bet it'd be more or less identical and you'd get the benefit of not having to deal with Linux having a normal familiar OS got a Server 2016 key I can donate to science if anyone wants to try it out. slightly off-topic though, sorry
  11. inb4 a new suggestion to increase thread title character limit
  12. wouldn't be that surprised with Intel being Intel, but pretty sure "motherboards will need to be updated" = "you need a BIOS update", not "you need a new motherboard"
  13. 6th gen launched in 2015, unless it's a crazy deal I'd pass.
  14. You missed the holiday deals but I'd poke through /r/LaptopDeals and /r/BuildAPCSales from a quick look through, Acer Swift 3 for ~$630?
  15. the one 2nd from the left kinda looks like @Avacado
  16. I bought a 60% with arrows and the half size right shift and even after a couple months I couldn't get used to it, 9/10 times I went for the right shift I hit the arrow key. I'm sure I'd get used to it eventually but if I'm going to spend >$100 on a keyboard I want what I want
  17. I've been wanting something smaller than a TKL that has: a) full size right shift b) dedicated arrow keys c) dedicated DEL key but my options are slim I like the Shurikey Hanzo (001 and 002, the 003 is a bit much) but it's continually OOS and I always miss the group buys
  18. then you need a new keyboard send me that one and pick out a new one
