  1. This might be the big competition we need to jumpstart the ExtremeHW folding team, thanks everyone so far for your participation, hopefully you can still donate some WU's to EHW each month along with other teams you fold for.
  2. Okay, last update for tonight since I'm doing them manually every hour or so, need to sleep, so will see a big jump in stats in about 7-8 hours when I do the next update.
  3. I used RC3 for now, also centre your dang signature, I don't care if you want to use my colours, at least centre the bloody thing, this isn't some VerticalScope web site...
  4. I'm just doing 8 threads on my 5800x all locked to the second half of cores and getting 125k PPD, definitely just doing it for the extra WU counts and wouldn't advise it. I haven't done any real testing on PPD, but after CTR, it's basically locked in my P1 profile at 4625 MHz and 1.344V (reported in HWiNFO64)
  5. I also don't see any points for that folding username. This is the official stats site from Stanford: https://stats.foldingathome.org/donors Maybe you didn't set your username correctly in your folding client, or it just needs to be completely closed and reopened to make sure the new username takes.
  6. Mostly working stats in a Google Sheets here, that is when the IMPORTDATA commands are working correctly... I'll be updating the end-of-days with static data. If the IMPORTDATA commands don't play nicely the rest of today, I will have to switch to 3-hour manual updates or something. GDocs early testing was fine, but it hates live data... Might have to go back to building a quick PHP web-page for this for next time around. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vTCHyCWqzzOn58g9qkJ7GBHbjJgdrT2y0sCuUYz44dGiwoFEAlURi8KQsTzeJIPV3HDv6bWb36uw5JI/pubhtml?widget=true&headers=false#gid=2029153325
  7. Wait wait wait!!!! You're telling me that where they say they are in movies isn't actually always true? Next you're going to tell me that all the James Bonds were just some paid fakes that acted like they were the various incarnations of James Bond...

    5800x temps?

Also I've noticed that Folding@Home is bar more better for detecting bad overclocks than Prime95, I just feel bad wasting CPU Work Units sometimes, but pretty sure it's not going to affect the overall project when it's once and a while for stability testing on a machine that will be folding 24/7 afterwards sometimes.
  9. I feel bad for my friends locally who are trying to get in to PC gaming, I've had to tell 4 of them to just order a Ryzen based Gaming Laptop because that's easier then trying to build a PC. Definitely would look forward to helping other members out with deals on parts at proper prices.

    5800x temps?

Have you given CTR 2.0 a try yet? ENTERPRISE and I just haven't had a chance to yet.
  11. Looking to buying other member's used junk again!
  12. Oh, I'm actually curious what they run to support Chromecast internally like that, I would imagine Vizio, Insignia and those other "box-store brands" would use something closer to a regular Chromecast though. I gave all my regular Chromecasts away as gifts when I realized the Ultra went on sale often enough and had the wired port and better 4k support. I haven't even tried my Samsung TV's built-in casting yet because I read it didn't support casting a full browser tab or your desktop, so I got a full Ultra instead.

    5800x temps?

With the 5800X its a weird combination of factors Lowest bin of CCX's with all 8 cores working and able to hit target speeds Higher TDP All those 8 cores concentrated to one part of the die that is off center so coolers have a harder time targeting the heat directly Really high boost Voltages from AMD and Motherboards to get stable high boost clocks PBO Offset adding even more voltage to get the extra 200 MHz above boost (sometimes even on all-core on shorter burst loads) On the flip side though, the chip and BIOS does an amazing job at just flirting with that 90 C limit regardless of cooling with how fast it can control the speed and voltage. If I turn my radiator fans way down of even off, the chip will throttle the speeds and voltage down to keep it under 90 C without any noticeable performance loss in everyday stuff. I'd say the 5800x is really under rated since it was seen as the worst in the 5000 range and wasn't covered much by reviewers other then being "bad value", but still better then the 3000 equivalent.
  14. Do you mean the regular Chromecast? My Chromecast Ultra with the 100 Mbit ethernet wall wart does 4k fine and Stadia too.
  15. Hey @ENTERPRISE, don't forget about the future Marketplace... I can't find the link to that donation page.
  16. Even with the Phased approach and still missing features on ENTERPISES's with-list, I do agree. This site is already far and above what other sites have to offer in terms of layout and atmosphere. It's a delicate balance of growing slowly enough until all the features are complete, but growing fast enough to stay interesting and increase the reach. Right now I think it's mostly been social media or people coming from across the board, but some new faces I don't recognize have found this place as well.

    5800x temps?

I haven't given the latest CTR 2.0 a try yet to get some lower voltages, currently with PBO at +200 MHz I can hit 5040 MHz on the cores on my 5800x, but also getting might close to that 90 C mark still. It does report just hitting 1.5 V max in HWInfo64, so hoping CTR makes a difference.
  18. Yeah, this place has been a welcome breath of fresh of air. Hope to see more of you in the coming months and years again, was always happy to work with you on stuff.
  19. Because of Canada, you have this wonderful Folding@Home section that can host this wonderful Folding Competition (with some help from @ENTERPRISE too)
  20. Thanks for putting together this amazing competition. Once you make the Twitter Post, I'll be sure to share it and hopefully everyone else here can as well
  21. So instead of needing Fibre cable and 2 SFP connectors (1 on each end) you can buy DAC Cables that are just all copper construction and have SFP style ends on them. They are great for runs that are 5m or less to still get full speeds. I use two 5m DAC cables to connect my gaming PC and Unraid server at 10 Gig to my Unifi switch all via SFP+ ports. On switches that support 10 Gig over RJ-45 connectors, they generate a lot of heat inside the switch. When using SFP connectors (either fibre transceivers or DAC cables) all the media conversion is handled in the SFP connector and also a chunk of heat there. DAC cables are typically much more universal and you don't have to be as careful with buying vendor specific Fibre Transceiver SFP+ connectors. My setup using a MC3309124-006 cable
