Changes to the "Latest" Section - Have you say!
axipher replied to ENTERPRISE's topic in Site Suggestions
I still want to see a name for who last updated the thread. Right now I think it just shows the avatar for the last person who posted in a thread, but no username or the last time it was updated. I had noted this in Skype with you previously when we tried to fix this a while back with some different things -

The 42" is amazing Of course it's not the most "immersive" since it doesn't fill as much of your vision, but for watching anime and playing RPG's and slower-paced games, being able to see the whole screen without moving my head or relying on peripheral vision that is blocked by my glasses frames, it's amazing. And being so small and 4k, the pixels are so bloody tiny and close together, you cannot tell where they start and where they end. It even makes older GameCube titles look amazing. I actually enjoy the GameCube version of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles better when the Switch Remake on this screen. Slightly Unfocused picture in dark with my phone:

I finally got my LG C3 42" installed, currently only on a 2.1 system in the nice dark basement, but kicks butt for gaming. Just waiting on an eventual RetroTink4k for the GameCube and my other old consoles. Now I can finally start watching some of these videos

Oh man, I came in here just to give a shout-out to the their Twitter post acknowledging us: While I have my own opinions, hopefully we can put this behind us as a learning experience and keep working together on Folding@Home as a whole and continue increasing the interest of potential new Folders with future events on either side.

I've just been busy with work and baby so have not had a chance to troubleshoot this further, something related to MySQL "LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE" statement used for the initial import each hour. Some default settings of MySQL are preventing it form working versus the old MariaDB setup, or some user permission issue after the migration.

What Codec though? A lot of the 8k videos posted here are AV1 which couldn't get them to play on my 6700 XT either, so stuck with CPU decoding which my Ryzen 5800x wasn't enough for, but Intel iGPU Quick Sync have supported AV1 decode since I believe 11th gen. All the the VP9 videos work fine on my 6700 XT though, but the AV1 10-buit videos did not in VLC. I can't find a straight answer on AV1 support on RDNA 2, the UVD Wiki Page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Video_Decoder) claims that it should, but the VCN Wiki page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_Core_Next) says that some RDNA2 can and some can't.

EXTREMEHW 48-hour Foldathon, May 20-21st 00:00 UTC

Thanks for all the folding power team, sorry about my mix-communication with @damric and @neurotix on the start day and the 24-hour delay. In the future, it *should* run midnight to midnight over Saturday and Sunday UTC. It also looks like my ETF 750 Ti is no longer enough to get enough work units, might be time to look to adding another small GPU in to the fray, but I have no spare PCIe slots right now. I do have an old Haswell mATX board that I could slot a GPU in to, but normally I only power up new computers if they will serve an alternate purpose as well... -

So um... Yeah, damric changed May to start beginning of Friday at Midnight UTC instead of Saturday like the previous 2 and 3 day ones and my smooth brain didn't actually properly check the day of the week, so it basically started a full day late, Friday May 19th at 8 PM EST (Saturday May 20th Midnight UTC). -
I have two Unraid servers at home in different rooms. One is the Primary and has mostly flash storage and runs Plex. On this server I have most of my media including downloaded shows/movies, 4k/8k demoes, rips of all our DVD's and BD's, and home videos and Photos. The other is a secondary and has all spinning disks (mostly IronWolf drives at this point) and has a backup of all the media that can't be easily replaced. So on the secondary I DON'T backup the 4k/8k demos, downloaded movies, and our DVD/BD backups since those are all easy to find again and instead I just keep a full Excel list of where I got all my media from and where it is stored. I do backup all the downloaded shows since most of those I have gone through and painstakingly renamed and sorted and also re-ordered the audio and sub-title tracks and I don't want to have to do that again. I then use Both OneDrive and Google Drive to backup all my home videos and photos, or the really hard to find movies/shows that I have and some handpicked 4k/8k demos for easy finding while on the go. My Home Videos and Photos also get written to archive BD's twice a year. In June I do a single disc of uncompressed files with just the new stuff since last June, then in December, I do a complete write with a compressed set of files sorted by 1 archive per year. Then I give those BD's to my mom who lives a few hours away to store them with her picture albums.

Let’s See If Anyone Remembers Me From OCN 👀
axipher replied to REPUBLICOFGAMER's topic in New Members
Yep, even though it's tiny numbers, I never stopped folding and started here as Editor helping get the Folding@Home section off the ground, and now have the wonderful help of @damric, @bonami2, @Avacado and many others. -

Welcome to your our new home -
ExtremeHW is 15th in Points Production over the last 24 hours and that only includes a portion of the Foldathon points, that is awesome. Even more awesome considering the small amount of users compared to a lot other teams up in the top 50.

We have a great community here and my fellow Folding Editors have been super helpful in keeping things going. -
I just grab the large Team Stats Flat File from Stanford every hour which just has all the teams sorted by points and import that in to SQL. For the Team Rank to get filled, I would need to calculate the rank based on the current list of teams but I haven't dedicated any time figuring out if ther is a single SQL command that can fill in a column automatically based on another column, or just manually assign a rank after sorting the rows by points.

Right now, never. It's a manual check by me that I keep forgetting to check or come up with a fix for it.

Previously we were audio only, the YouTube cut just got a single graphic edit with a bunch of images depicting the topics we ended up discussing and the date. For the most part, we had about 6 Podcast hosts who would add to a single Google Doc all week, spend Sunday afternoon widdling out the bad quality ones and let each host add some of their commentary to the notes so we have a rough idea where everyone stands before we start discussing as well.
