  1. As an electrical engineer and automation technician, this project excites me
  2. Unboxing: Doesn't look as big compared to the bike: Included half shelf: Some of the Accessories: Ground Strap for the back door: Full welded frame: Top and bottom 120 mm fan mounts and fully disassembled so I can carry it up the stairs: Removed from the shipping pallet: Little tight at the top of the stairs: UPS temporarily in the new rack, top rack almost ready to migrate to the new rack:
  3. I've been running off a little StarTech.com 12U self-standing rack for a while now with my UPS just on the floor so I figured it was about time to upgrade that rack and move my gaming PC in to the same rack to clear up some office space. 4. I'm jealous of your Exos drives, but the IronWolf's are more than enough for me right now in my home NAS.
  5. Actually that's a tough call to make, EposVox last video on h265 comparing NVENC to AMF actually had them pretty much on par if I remember correctly. My personal usage of h265 was able to record my Nintendo Switch at 1080p60 through my Elgato 4k60 Pro Mk. II and I was able to run it at only 30 Mbps and get some damn near great quality recording. NVENC still holds the crown for h264 encoding though which makes it ideal for game streaming to Twitch. Mass AV1 hardware decoder is going to help pave the way to AV1 across the board though and I'm hoping all three (AMD, Intel and Nvidia) can all bring great AV1 encoders and decoders to the table that are comparable.
  6. At least I kept the joke out of the first post that gets scraped by Search Engines ?
  7. Pretty sure no one has made this connection yet, but they have... Ryzen to the top...
  8. TechPowerUp EposVox Gamers Nexus Paul's Hardware Bitwit JayzTwoCents Linus Tech Tips Hardware Unboxed Hardware Canucks So as lots of tech enthusiasts expected, the 2x performance increase was only in select ray-traced titles and a pretty substantial increase in power consumption. It basically tops the charts in power consumption even outdoing Vega 64 and Radeon VII. Luckily the new fan setup manages to keep the temperatures in check without actually dumping too much heat in to the case compared to 2080 Ti's as well as being pretty quiet. Now with the higher power consumption and improved architecture, Nvidia is able to play a lot closer to the low/mid-range cards in terms of performance-per-watt which is great for a high-end card and very attractive for those that also want the productivity workloads.
  9. I create a new topic and submit it, it brings me to the topic page, but then for some reason that topic is still marked as Unread for me when there is no replies or anything.
  10. Source I've been a long time user of the Iron Wolf drives in NAS servers and happy to see some of the TB Written values for the new SSD's as well. Not sure how many people will have a use for SATA SSD's from that line up though, so much more interested in the HDD's personally.
  11. Source While I am not sure on her exact contributions to all the new products, AMD has no doubt blossomed under her direction and shown some incredible growth.
  12. Source Now this is good news, we probably won't get direct AV1 encoding with this generation of GPU's from the "Big Three" but that doesn't mean it can't be done with GPU Compute power down the road.
  13. I've got a brand new server rack coming in and colder weather is coming so I might be able to go back to mostly dedicated Folding@Home between gaming. May as well use Folding@Home to heat my home office instead of just baseboard heaters.
  14. Updated for 1.16.2, once the new 1.16.3 drops with all plugins updated, the server will be updated to that for Piglin Brutes who aren't swayed by your gold donations.
  15. Yeah, I'm not thinking Apple would want to publicly go after OnePlus over their buds like this as that would cause a publicity nightmare. The CBP on the other hand doesn't care as long as they get free goodies to "dispose of to their families." (Disclaimer, I have no idea where the confiscated products actually go.
  16. The text for "Folding@Home" gets line broken and lots of white space above and to the sides of the fields themselves.
  17. Lots of empty space on the sides of the forum, especially with that extra column bar on the right beside the content. This applies to both the home page and on a thread and makes reading a longer reply kind of bothersome to keep changing lines.
