  1. Source If OBS can make use of the Vega iGPU while I game on my Navi dGPU, I might actually be considering an APU as my next gaming PC upgrade.
  2. Source 7000 Series cards are still quite viable options on Linux with either the DRM driver or the AMDGPU driver, I still have a couple friends with 7970's that are just chugging along in Windows machines that I might try to snatch for future Linux projects, just need to convince them to upgrade
  3. I haven't looked in to the specific technology being used by Starlink, but even when I lived in the middle of nowhere on satellite internet back in 2005 or so, we still managed to get enough of a signal on a cloudy day or even light rain to be able to check emails, browsing media heavy web pages was near impossible or downloading copies of songs in Limewire that you had physical copies of already was near impossible though... I would imagine with Starlink's satellites being in lower orbit and with advances in technology, only a really bad snow or thunderstorm would cut your connection completely. Even current copper cable can be taken down by a bad storm in some rural areas, so as long as it can do better than that, I think it's going to be pretty promising.

  5. Had a nice power outage last night and my folding computer decided it didn't want to reset its network connection :/ Had to hard reset folding client and data this morning.
  6. The last year or so that I've had my RX 5700 has been pretty damn solid with no graphics related issues *knock on wood*.
  7. Yep, triple rad keeps my 2600x nice and healthy for gaming, I can't remember what exact cooler I have in my server, but its a side-flow 92mm with Noctua fans and Gentle Typhoons on the front of a rack mounted case forcing lots of air across the system.
  8. Source USB-C docks are coming in so many shapes and sizes and features. The one feature-set I would love to see though: - Two Display Port (outputs) - Gigabit Ethernet - At least 2 USB Type A ports, ideally 4 (mouse, keyboard, USB microphone, Xbox controller) - Digital Coax or Optical audio output - HDMI Input (bonus if it has H.264 or H.265 encoding hardware built-in)
  9. I have yet to use Silicon Lottery myself, every time I'm in the market for a CPU, they never have stock on the "cheaper" options, mind you that was also pre-Ryzen as with Ryzen I just never bothered even trying to overclock them from my laziness and desire for just a stable system for every day usage.
  10. Really sucks about the motherboard issue, hoping this build gets some progress soon so you can enjoy it as well.
