that looks familiar, by any chance was that on the blue ridge parkway?

definitely weather helped me out... will probably leave it folding again tonight just for the extra "free" heat... that and my uncle has Alzheimer's... as well as my Dad... and there is some research for that going on here.

Seeing a blank page. Is that a problem or did no one finish a unit yet? I have like 35 minutes to go on one WU.
thanks to my early start, I finished my first unit about 14 mins after the competition began, allowing for delay in accounting, it should have showed up about 40 mins into the comp.

So 28 threads folding? That's awesome.
yes 28 threads, I limit it to 28 so there is enough cpu left to allow me to use my pc normally and to keep the gpu fed. I remember a time when loading a cpu up like this would cause a pc to grind to a halt, but with better OS's and fancy hardware it runs as normal, with no lag, almost like it's not even working hard.

well, I doubt I'll catch you. I only have one 6900xt and one 5950x folding... kinda surprised me how many ppd that 5950x can put out with only 14 cores going... I do have PBO on, and turned lose... last I looked the cpu was pulling 170w and sitting at 65C on the hottest sensor... kinda wonder how a 7000 series cpu does now.

Getting close, good luck everyone. May you all crunch many numbers and have no hardware issues!
thanks for the well wishes! Same to you, so far so good on mine, I started early for the heat. temps well within normal, no melting connectors detected and room temp, comfy, which is great since it's freezing cold outside.

testing the latest drivers for AMD... no added performance from what I can see, but still pushing an estimated 4 million points per day so at least no regression. It's cold here and I'm already folding for heat LOL.

The trick I found on FX was to overclock the crap out of the cpu-nb and not worry so much about core clocks. I found that 4.7ghz with cpu-nb at 2400+mhz to be better than 5ghz core and stock cpu-nb in some cases... I found out this by accident at first because I bought 2400mhz ram and that automatically forced the cpu-nb to go that high. I kept noticing that my gaming and many benchmarks were consistently higher than others with higher core clocks. I made a thread about in OCN, may still not beat out a phenom II though core to core because there was some regression in IPC in FX. It's not the best benchmark/test thread because I didn't have time to do much, mostly focused on one game, but here is the link: clicky
Hope this helps or at least in interesting
edit: fun fact, the cooler I used on that FX is the same one I'm using on my 5950x now...

Have you tried rolling back the last known updates to see if functionality is restored ?
According to the net the file you referenced is a core file of Windows Defender, making the assumption it has not been hijacked, but a decent AV should pick that up.
SecHealthUI.exe Windows process - What is it?
SecHealthUI.exe is important for Windows 10/8/7/XP. Click here to know what SecHealthUI.exe is...I'll look into a roll back again. I can't remember if I tried that or not, it was 2AM at the time

Ok, weird topic, but it's happening on my wife's HTPC. I noticed the other day after the last windows update that the windows security app wouldn't open any longer. First after a bit of panic and some frantic checking I found that the actual anti malware executable was still working and up to date, it was just the UI that was failing. I tried forcing a windows update, nada. so I tried via power shell, nada. Tried resetting the app via windows settings. I tried the SFC /scannow, it did find something, but it wasn't the thing that stopping the UI from updating. I tried the DISM online fix... still nada. There are no other functionality issues with the system. The only thing that I've noticed that stands out is that the sechealthui.exe and other files with it are over a year old, while the ones on my PC are from last month. This issue seems to have started after the last big windows update on her system about a week ago. Any ideas other than a system refresh, I'm saving that one for dead last and maybe not even then as long as it's working.
Edit: I just installed Malwarebytes and it found one tiny thing, but it was only a "suspicious" find and it was in the recycle bin already, nothing else. I'm debating on just paying for a home license and keeping it... opinions?

13900K pre-order. Now we wait and hope for Divine favor in the silicon lottery.
From the early leaked benchmarks I've seen, it looks like AMD is in for some serious competition there. I think you will do well with that cpu. In fact, if Intel keeps this up, my next rig will be Intel based, something that I haven't done in years thanks to them insisting that mainstream didn't need more than 4 cores back when Ryzen first came out. When you get it, please make sure I see any benchmarks you post.

Well, they changed it... and made it worse LOL gotta love their review teams. Also they seem to have tweaked how the scores are calculated...again...as my 5950x scores are actually higher than they used to be on the old benchmark runs I had bookmarked, but somehow that took the 7950 score I linked in the first comment down from the 140% shown in the screenshot to 123%. Not sure how they managed that, but just be aware when you are comparing scores that things have changed. Screenshot of new review included for posterity.

Advanced Marketing Devices....I laughed.
If I'm to be honest I laughed too... I was just browsing to see if there were any new benchmarks on it since I heard that some chips had already been sold in China and found this... I wanted to capture the moment just in case they change later.

Today I found a listing in Userbenchmark showing how well the new 7950x is currently performing, likely not it's final performance, but still a hint of what to expect. The review text caught me off guard. I knew there was an anti-AMD bias by whoever writes the reviews, but this one really stood out to me. Screenshot taken just in case they change it later, but here is the link. https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/1932596/AMD-Ryzen-9-7950X-16-Core-Processor

after 30+ years working with an old Radio Shack 30w soldering iron, I got tired of waiting and struggling just to get some solder on a wire.... so I bought this butane soldering iron. I do not solder much, but when I do, I want it to be quick... its first job was to put a new pigtail on my old trucks air conditioning fan... worked flawlessly, even used it to shrink the heat shrink thanks to all that hot exhaust that comes out a conveniently small port.

I have a HVAC controlled basement, approx 24U of rack space, 8 pci-e x16 slots, and two wire shelves.
I'm willing to host peoples machines/cards for free (donations are nice)
includes power and free 24/7 teamviewer access
I'll set up the OS (probably ubuntu) and fold under your name.
I also completely understand if you think i'm batshit, but I want to keep our point production at least 50m a day.
you have my respect... if for whatever reason I end up with an extra gpu I'll contact you... I just gave my only extra 5700xt to my sons friend who was still running an old 970.

you can exclude me from the prizes if you want, I was mostly doing it to see what my ppd would be like when winter gets here... nothing like curing things while heating the house up.
