  1. Will not get political about it, but thus far due to a current leaders track record, this is not shocking lol. As we are all facing the same issue, it is good that other countries are coming together to ensure the people get the vaccine and for "free". I say free but obviously the powers that be will raise something in order to offset the costs. Governments are business's.
  2. Blimey, 104c, yeah that is hot. I love the PCB and the fact it is MUCH smaller than I thought it would be prior to us seeing them, I was expecting a really long PCB. As already mentioned though, cramming those components in will have a cost BUT assuming sufficient cooling, this should be fine. After all this is the FE edition and while the cooler is improved, it will not do as well as the AIB solutions.
  3. That is a beefy looking UPS. Not to pry but how much do those usually set someone back ?
  4. Ahhh right you are going from that standpoint. I thought you were taking the angle that Windows 10+ support only would ensure better game performance, though thinking about it that argument is also valid lol.
  5. Agree with all of them, but what do you mean by "Hard requirements for Windows 10" Are you talking about OS compatibility baseline starting at Windows 10 and not any lower (Windows 7 etc) ?
  6. That is fair enough, Will have to see what it is like my end, I cannot imagine it would be huge, but yes bigger than typical meta data.
  7. Really ? I am surprised that the chapter thumbnails creation causes high usage, I mean sure perhaps the CPU spikes for its initial creation. How much storage space of usage are we talking here ? Usually speaking thumbnails are small, unless they are the animated ones that I know you can have in Plex.
  8. This came up on my news feed today, great for simultaneous ripping/writing of content to DVD/Blue-ray but you would certainly need to ensure you have a CPU/HDD/GPU that can keep up (GPU If encoding work)
  9. It is an interesting article. If it is the case that it is limited to 4 cores only, that would be a shame BUT not out of the ordinary considering so many other games still do not take full advantage of six core or even 8 core CPU's. So for me this does not put the game out of whack with other titles. Missed opportunity, for sure...but games have been missing that opportunity for yonks and still do lol. I certainly think it is still worthy of some 3090 treatment to see what gains (if any you get over the 3080) and furthermore how the original Crysis compares to the new one with respects to performance.
  10. Yeah I remember that BS as well. Completely not on and 100% consumer misleading. That sort of behavior ought to be illegal.
  11. I predict no monies will be leaving my pocket to yours....well unless you win a competition
  12. Aside from the fact I find 10GB of Vram on a high end card questionable at best, I agree. Nvidia should have just been up front about it from the start....or simply not have that stupid SKU at all.
  13. Yeah you are best of holding on to your money when Nvidia is concerned. To be honest from what I am seeing it looks like RDNA2 is not going to put much of a dent in the Nvidia 3000 Series so I do not think that will force Nvidia to do anything spectacular. However I am aiming for a 3090 which generally speaking they do not tend to out do their own flagship cards...but you never know lol.
  14. Well I can now confirm we will be covering the Folding@Home performance on the RTX 3090. ?
  15. Yeah that is an awesome setup from LTT. However..I actually like having my PC next to me, but all comes down to that preference thing.
  16. Source: https://www.tweaktown.com/news/75244/gigabyte-confirms-geforce-rtx-3080-with-20gb-model-3070-16gb/index.html There we have it, the 3080 20GB variant. Wow I would be miffed if I got the 3080 10GB.
  17. COD Warzone is a fairly low tier game but its something we can test in the future. As for the new Assassin's Creed (Valhalla) I see its release is 17th of November which is a little late for this testing but we may be able to revisit it.
  18. You may find the following prior threads useful, anything else just ask
  19. Sure, if he is happy to do it then I will ask if he can do that. In fact he can just save out the Logs right? Yeah I knew it was going to be a hype train. Don't get me wrong, in SOME use case scenarios I am sure it is 50% better, but certainly not across the board. I think the 3090 will be far closer to that number than the 3080 but still I would fear it is not possible for the 3090 to be 50% better at all applications vs the 2080Ti. Too much of an ask from one generation leap.
  20. That is a nice rack system I have to say. I did not realize you even keep your gaming rig in a rack mount lol, that is great, a little restrictive in some use case purposes I suppose but not by much as that is a fair bit of space you have to work with.
  21. Oh man that sucks. I hate it when something uniform should just work, but then someone has to go out of spec..was it the bracket or your case ? Considering you have other devices in the case I will assume it was the fan controller PCI bracket fully at fault.
  22. Hmmm let me see if we can fit that in as I would be interested to, but need to make sure it is ok with our guys actually doing the work ?
  23. Thank you all for your suggestions. After looking at the fact we are going to be testing the RTX 3090 we have selected titles best suited towards the testing of this behemoth of a GPU our final selection is as follows. This should give us a great overview of what this card is capable of and we very much look forward to the final article. 3D Mark Suite Control Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Metro Exodus Doom Eternal Crysis Remastered Crysis Original (For comparison against remastered )Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Red Dead Redemption 2 Battlefield 5 This should give us a great overview of what this card is capable of and we very much look forward to the final article.
  24. Good question. All I know is I would never buy a 3080 personally. 10GB of VRAM IMHO was a HORRIBLE decision by Nvidia. Minimum should have been 12-16GB. Still plenty of distance between the 3090 with 24Gb lol. Plus if they do release a second revision of the 3080 with 20GB, it just serves to annoy early adopters. Then again Nvidia enjoys doing that with the Super series.
