  1. Well if it works...it works ! Take the win and run with it
  2. The fact they leaked out that information is a GDPR issue at the very least and there will need to be an investigation into how that one happened. Nvidia like any company, business or sole trader need to be transparent about these things as soon as the issue arrises or confirmed. A. So you can keep your consumers informed should they need to take action to further protect their privacy etc B. Good faith. If you want to be a good guy...then be a good guy and be upfront.
  3. That is certainly a mod I will give you that. Does that not unbalance the mouse at all when moving it around. For instance does it not tip if moving it towards the right where the new support is and snag ?
  4. Yes, it has been a poor show. I was never going to buy at launch since the last time the RTX 2000 Series had some technical issues, so luckily I avoided the bot disappointment altogether. I mean happening the first time when the 3080's launched was a shame and should not have happened in the first place...but then not learning from that mistake for a launch a week later is nuts. However looking at it from a company point of view, there is little motivation to stop bot sales because at the end of the day Mr Green is taking lots of green. For legitimate fans, they should take some care BUT we all know money is king and they always go for the money before protecting loyal customers and this is not just a downfall of Nvidia lets face it.
  5. Is this a press F to pay your respects moment ? Sucks though. Dishonest sellers are the worst... especially when it is painfully obvious the item is anything but new. I'm fairly sure they hope the buyer is blind or something. This happened to me on much smaller scale with a cheapo celeron I purchased just to flash an up to date BIOS on a motherboard to take a better CPU. Anyways, bought it NEW just for the sake of knowing it was going to work and not give me any setbacks. Few days later it arrived in very much the same condition as yours. As it happens this was for the community folding project.
  6. I know a few people who would love this but its always a concern who the actual OEM is...a little like with power supplies. Though aside from possible firmware updates to the device I would imagine this would be a low maintenance product requiring little support. So playing devils advocate, it may not be much of an issue if its manufacture sticker slapped lol.
  7. Is it bad that I have never heard of any of these ? Lol. This is what you get for being mainly a Windows man
  8. Banned for making better use of your profile than me...still need to customize it haha
  9. Yeah, manufacturers going out of spec then ! Man that is annoying. Nice, will look forward to seeing what you have been up to. Awesome glad to hear it, still lots to be done but its a good start. Long hours indeed, and hair pulling!
  10. Nope, now they got back to me again apologizing for some confusion, they now confirmed this as a bug and their investigating
  11. Yeah having a case that can take the thicker rads really helps. It would not be a problem in my case BUT as I wanted the res mounted in front and upright for accessibility, it does limit the length of add in cards but not by a huge amount. Always a balancing act...well not unless you have dual chamber case where you have a dedicated section for all the WC Gear. CaseLabs were great for that.
  12. So after speaking with the platform guys, this is to my surprise a way of design, not a bug. I have expressed my opinion that it is counter intuitive behaviour. Will up vote this as a change to the platform. So this may change in a future update, may not. As its a very small thing, I wont dedicate any custom dev time to this as any custom changes made would have to be re-implemented everytime we go through an upgrade which is inefficient.
  13. Nothing wrong with getting a little carried away ?
  14. Yeah I mean the price is not outlandish, as I say. It is using Gen4 and has its own special casing, so it is not very surprising. However as you say in the future you will get other brands jumping on this which we could see getting cheaper. Plus once Gen4 is more mainstream the price (possibly) will drop a little.
  15. You can say that again...rubbish up here too lol.
  16. I have been reading through this thread, that rack setup is certainly coming on and I was just looking at the image of your Unraid CP, that looks so nice bud !
  17. This is a fair chunk of cash but I guess it is to be expected with a proprietary and bleeding edge tech, making the assumption it is utilizing PCIe Gen 4. I think I prefer the fact that with the PS5 you can use a non proprietary drive to get additional storage, though it is recommended to buy something certified for the PS5 to ensure you are getting some to match the internal storage performance.
  18. Awesome ! I really cannot wait to get moved so I can start folding again lol. Doing my head in.
  19. Nice bud ! Thanks for contributing as always ?
  20. Thanks bud, glad you like. It is getting there for sure ! Onwards and upwards as always lol. Banned for being suspiciously nice ?
  21. When it comes to RADS I cannot recommend the Hardware Labs kit enough. I believe my 360mm RAD is the Black Ice GTR. Bulky as hell, but it definitely gets the job done. Infact it is so bulky, including my res (which is mounted to the RAD) it actually limits me from having super log GPU's.
  22. Do you want better thermals on your laptop? Well one AliExpress seller has a water cooling kit to solve that very issue - so let's put it on the Alienware Area 51m.
  23. Well for my WC setup I have Hardware Labs 360mm Fat boy RAD as well as a standard thickness 280mm RAD to the top of my case. This cools an AMD 3950X and will also cool the upcoming GPU (3080/3090). I have 2 D5 pumps as well, mainly for safety should one fail.
  24. Yeah, I mean we hopefully will not see the same issues as we did with the 2000 series memory going faulty very early on, the same applies for the VRM's etc, hopefully they will be able to have a suitably long life. With everything though....time will tell I guess. Watercooling FTW I guess.
  25. Fingers crossed ! I know we (UK) tend to help other countries with medical aid, including vaccines when they are unable or partially unable to help their own people. Furthermore the EU will also push out the vaccines to less economically wealthy areas.
