  1. It probably needs 200w just for the vram. Well i guess the 3090 was around 82w. So maybe 100w.
  2. The HAMR drives are sas 12Gb. It's nice too see hard drives that actually saturate sata. However it still is a bit too slow for 30tb+. I can't imagine how long it will take to rebuild a large array of them.
  3. Price is an issue. And having a completely different layout. So you would need a custom case. I wonder why they didn't go with USB-C for power input.
  4. I really want to see some new 35w athlon chips. Maybe a 5000G or 5100G. Or maybe a Zen2 part. Something faster than the 3000G would be nice. 140.228.21.17
  5. Maybe AMD noticed all the people using the NimeZ drivers. And decided to drop an official driver.
  6. I wonder why they haven't updated the drivers for their more modern gpu's. RX6000 seems to still be on 22.5.2.
  7. $169.99 a month. I wish there was competition here.
  8. The non-XT models normally have the same amount of ram as the XT's do.
  9. Have you considered a 4G/5G booster? I know there are a few window antenna options. T-Mobile uses a fake address in there system. As a work around. So that you can get T-Mobile in an unsupported area. Not sure if that is possible with verizon. But you can always ask.
  10. Maybe they will make a 6ghz special edition. They can just overclock their top model and put an S at the end of name.
  11. ASRock B550 phantom gaming-ITX/AC. 5800X3D
  12. Remember when they showed off the 3920x at computex 2019. But then later launched the 3950x. It is possible that they only showed off the 16 core. And they might end up releasing something bigger. And if they do have a 24 core chip with 3 chiplets. Then they could also release a 18 core version as well. Unless they are already 12c/16c chiplets. Which could explain the larger chiplet size. Remember AVX512 is still a rumor. They could actually be using the ZEN4C version for desktop.
  13. 3D cache is delayed for 5nm. We will probably see 3D cache versions next year at CES. Unless they decide to try and push it out early. They might also be 16c chiplets. As the chiplets look pretty large for 5nm. Maybe AMD is using Zen4C for desktop products. AVX-512 would take up a lot of space. But AVX-512 is just a rumor. AMD said that all ryzen cpus will have an igpu on AM5. But they didn't say anything about other chips. So i could see AMD releasing threadripper on AM5. If they really wanted too. And then release the higher core count threadrippers as pro's. What i really want is a highly binned 6ghz blackedition.
  14. I still haven't been able to find a GT1010.
  15. You are right. HDMI 2.1 should be able to do 1080p 480hz at 8 bit. Hdmi 2.1 is 42.6 Gbps. 1080p@480hz should use 35.64Gbps for 8bit and 42.77 at 10bit. So maybe 10bit wouldn't be possible. DP 2.0 should support 1080p at 1000hz.
  16. It must use DSC to get 480hz. Because HDMI 2.1 doesn't have enough bandwidth. Unless it uses 2 ports.
  17. I hope Zen 4 will have 20+ pcie 5.0 lanes coming from the cpu. I want a pcie 5.0 ssd. I think it was rumored to have 28 lanes.
  18. Could use it with gpu's and displays. So you can power a high end display off a gpu.
  19. I believe AMD Genoa is 96 cores and is coming out at the end of the year. And they have a 128core cloud cpu coming out in the first half of next year. But their new 3D stacked epyc should be here before sapphire rapids. However it probably wont beat sapphire rapids. But it is good to see competition is heating up.
