  1. It would be a while before I could get to it myself; and definitely am interested in what you confirm.
  2. Also got the parts in that I need to start working on the 12vdc bus for the Atlas II build. Tin-plated copper terminals, Blue Sea blocks (four total), and brackets that I'll be painting black:
  3. I could likely polish everything up if I really wanted to, but I think I'll just be after proof of concept for now (unless its cooling really blows my socks off); but yes, it is kinda ugly, isn't it.
  4. It's here, but sans their delid/relid tool that Igor describes. I guess in all fairness they never do picture that tool with the product on their site, but it is a bit of a disappointment. Should have asked, but my bad. Fortunately, I've also got the 12th gen Rockit Cool tool. I'll need to polish up the inside of the cold plate; and since I've already got them. I'll likely swap some of the nylon washers out with non-yellowed ones. @Mr. Fox
  5. Why wave your fists when you obviously could shake your chicken?
  6. $74.98 Here's the link to the kit at Lowes: Wagner Furno 700 Plus 5100-BTU Heat Gun I believe right around 300°F is the magic number for acrylic (not sure what PTEG is), but I've never been able to put that to the test since I've never had a heat gun with variable temps. There's also a lot of other variables to consider of course, like distance from the heating element, rate of rotation, etc. I'd hazard that unless you built a special jig that included a temp controlled heat source, and also did the timed rotation, back and forth movement, etc., coming up with a value that's truly accurate might be a bit tricky. ...and no, I won't be building any such jig if anyone's wondering.
  7. Yeah, you got to wonder, eh? Ordered a replacement heat gun from Lowes (used my military discount), as well as the extended warranty for it. This one's got dial-in temps from 125°F to 1300°F, and a digital readout. I'm hoping it will make heating up acrylic tubing a little easier.
  8. I somehow suspected that might happen --the Great Swami.
  9. They sent me an email. I also just checked their web site and it reflects that it's been shipped: Also had access to the lengthier shipping notification in the web site, which included the DHL tracking number.
  10. Finally got a tracking number for my SuperCool Computer stuff: @Mr. FoxI had problems with the linked DHL number in the email so I used DHL's tracking instead.
  11. Was the listing described as "for parts only?"
  12. Lyrics And I am not frightened of dying Any time will do, I don't mind Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime If you can hear this whispering you are dying
  13. The eBay listing actually specs stainless steel at the very bottom of the listing (scroll all the way down):
  14. Material: Stainless steel Thanks for letting me know about the shipment! Did he give any kind of tracking number?
  15. I get ya, bud. But I'm at that point in my life where I should be wondering what's next, but am somewhat indifferent while I wait to ride that last wave ashore. While I don't necessarily blame avocado toast, I don't eat the stuff either.
  16. $5.5 mil is tidbits to people like leather jacket. Should have been more like $555.5 billion.
  17. See Acrylic tubing - how to chamfer the edges properly? for a short discussion about that. Buried is that thread is a reference to another thread you might find useful (also on OCN), though a much longer read: Acrylic pipebending 101.
  18. A sharp pipe reamer actually works pretty good on acrylic if you keep a bowl of water with a few drops of dish soap in it by your side while cleaning up the cut edges. Trims a lot faster and cleaner if you dip the tubing end in the water during the process; and regularly dip the reamer in the same bowl to clear out the trimmed excess.
  19. I wouldn't recommend a finishing bit on acrylic tubing unless you've got a/an (e.g., d.i.y.) tubing drill press jig that will hold the tubing in place steadily while the drill is at constant rpms. You'll risk cracking the tubing otherwise (I know, I've tried).
  20. Best tool I ever bought/used to cut acrylic tubing (Bitspower Crystal stuff): the Alphacool Eiskoffer - HardTube saw tool. Great jig if you're going hand saw.
  21. @Mr. FoxSo it looks like the status changed on my SuperCool Computer order to "Waiting for Delivery." Hard to say what that actually means, but at least something happened status-wise. That said I'm still not worried as my take on interacting with typical sellers in SE ASIA today is akin to how I might have interacted with them 5-6 decades ago (read: third-world like experience).
  22. No word yet and I did check the order's status today. I'll probably send them a message myself; and I'll wait two more weeks before putting more pressure on them.
  23. So the cable combs from Clockwerk showed up, really nice work; and an item I've been waiting on for a while for my 'collage' did as well. Some of you may recognize it.
  24. I just ordered five of the 30gm ones myself. Still 33 left I believe. Still have ~75 gms in the fridge from an earlier purchase.
  25. hmmm... i've known folks who've had at least 500gm of pot in their freezer now and then.
