I have that same transducer, and Fosi amp!

It's a class D amplifier and I notice even when it's cranked its not very powerful. Just FYI. Still shakes my desk, but I have to have the crossover and gain on the amp turned all the way up for sound/ shaking satisfaction. So I would recommend a more powerful subwoofer amp if I had to do it again.

If you still have money burning a hole in your wallet I'd recommend the AMD Phenom II 960T.

This is 3.0GHz base /3.4 turbo CPU with two locked cores. With that mother board you should be able to attempt to unlock them and turn it into a hexacore.

Works about 50% of the time according to my research.

EDIT: What is your audio setup?

    How would a Ph II 960T measure up to a FX8320 - 8350?

I just got an Asus Formula Crosshair V last night.  I'll know if it's any good when it arrives and am thinking to get an 8 core FX for it instead of any more Ph II chips

  3. I'm aware lol but still having fun seeing how far I can improve on the DDR2 iGPU score.  (4812 3dmarks)  It's just practice in the mean time.  Still learning my hardware and getting more new to me used cpu's for future HWBot comps 😉  Oh any way, I got over a 200 3Dmark03 bump up in score.  I was happy with it and wanted to share.

  4. I don't imagine any one would be interested in the '90 brick nose Eddie Bower Bronco I am building would y'all?  I picked it up for a song "$160" missing engine, radiator, seats, fuel tank, original wheels and tires. and a few other odds and ends like rear view mirror,  wiper arms/blades, passenger door mirror, antenna and rear spare tire carrier and spare tire.

So far to date I have got seats out of an explorer, wiper arms w/blades, antenna, aluminum door switches and a/c switches out of a anniversary edition mustang, chrome steelie wheels from a F-series truck, some used but in good shape tires to get it rolling and drive able once I get an engine installed.

I have a lot of things that I still need to get .  today I got some Seat brackets out of a '92 Nite Bronco the rarest of them all besides the Centennial 4 door Bronco but I can't see any good reason for this thing to be in the junk yard.  Not in any accidents as far as I can tell from looking.  Oh any way.  It was missing the front clip and rear spare tire carrier.  I need to go back and get the Fuel tank.  I'd get the engine but I'm going to wait for a 50% off sale and get a '96 year roller cam 5.8L engine and put all the '90 smog sensors on it.  I can get some pics uploaded later if any one takes an interest.

Hmm...they are not counting my better submission in the DDR4 SuperPI 32M comp?

They still show my 7 min 21 sec sub but I did a 7 min 8 sec sub. Actually might have even had a slightly better sub then this, I don't recall. I remember it was not syncing with my profile.image.thumb.png.12804510d5c2acb804374a5be62500c1.png

    image.png.3dcfca98969e541f434fecaf1da17502.png

Same thing happened with my DDR2 iGPU sub before it was kicked completely.  I learned from that to not submit my entry until I am done and there is no more juice to squeeze out of the hardware.

  6. I'm definitely not going to beat my self up over it.  It was a good learning experience and some good lessens are learned the hard way.

With that in mind I was bound and determined to get the Corsair XMS2 DDR2-1066 4x2GB ram to run in the Destroyer and in getting it working "had to set timings manually with the OCZ ram before it would post with the corsair.  Oh any way I decided to spend half a day eeking out a little more performance on the iGPU 3DMark06 score.  It was bugging me that I was so close to 4600 3dmarks.  Well two goals accomplished today.  Y'all might wonder why I wanted the corsiar over the ocz.  4gb system ram vs 8gb system ram.

It ain't quite over yet - Now subs will be checked to make sure the results are valid and it's possible you may go up a spot if a team currently ahead of you get enough subs tossed.
Just know the same thing can work against you too and drop your placement - That's why getting your subs correct when subbed is so important.

Give it I'd say 3-5 days for it all to settle and the final rankings will be known but as is, be proud you're a top 10 team on your very first time out competing AND with many, if not most of you not familiar with the bot or it's comps.
Use this as a building experience and take what you've learned in this one to do better later.
Country Cup is next up and starts in November, some of you may want to compete there too for the experience that can be gained from that as well - In fact I highly suggest it.

Relative to this - Congrats guys and well done.

It's already happening 😕  We went from 8th to 9th in a very short period of time.

Looks like both the DDR2 IGPU entries were kicked out 😞  I tried so hard on that one too.  Is it not a good thing to edit my entries every time I get a better score?

  8. Ok I'll try to keep this short by not posting a wall of text but we all know how that goes 😉

It felt good to be a part of a competition where not only all of my older nostalgic "not in use" hardware was proven to be valuable yet again even if only for a friendly competition.  It was cool to be able to use my new hardware as well.  I learned a lot my first time competing on HWBot against global contenders.  Let's give it up for all those who competed.  👍

I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off the whole time, knowing I had hardware I could use yet struggling not only to find it all but to get it set up and posting followed by struggling to get OS's installed on several different computer parts.  I still can't find the Opty 180 😕  "my place looks like a tornado ran through it"

Things that would have helped me out a lot in this competition.

1: Obviously being organized and know exactly what I have and where all of it is located.

2: Know how to use and set up all my hardware in a timely manner.  It reduces stress when you know how to do it.

3: Have all my downloads stored and saved in one location perhaps on a server to be built " per Pio's suggestion "

4: Mark all my suspected defective hardware as such and put it to the side for further testing at a later time when there's no deadline to contend with.

5: I should have looked over all the competition categories and made of list of all the categories I could have competed in.  Followed by checking off each category on the list until they are all done.  Just today I realized there were area's like the AMD DDR2 Athlon competition I could have made entries with an Athlon x2 5400+ BE cpu " I have two of them "  We only had the one entry from Pio.

6: I need a better test bench.  The plastic test  bench I have from the Foxconn Destroyer mobo's is not cutting it.  Although it worked I need better.  Maybe in the future I can build one with my sheet metal and welding skills and use a dead mobo as a template for the stand off locations.  Now if only I can find that dead M2N32 Workstation mobo.  It's around here somewhere.  It goes back to being organized.

7: Don't enter a competition halfway through it expecting to have enough time to do every thing I wanted.

8: walk away for a few hours or a day to reset.  I was so so frustrated many times when I could not get things to work just to either post or install an os.  Many times felt like my eyes were going to bleed.

9: Most importantly remember I'm doing this for fun.

I look forward to more competitions.

EDIT: Perhaps I should set up a camera so I can video record all my bios settings. I always struggle with those because I have a hard time remembering what they all do and mean and it goes with out saying but to remember how all my bios settings were especially after a Clear CMOS is required.  I struggled with kowing if I should enable or disable bios features, Example ( Nvidia core calibration ), is used to unlock cores on unlock able cpu's.  At least that's my understanding of it at this point.  There is just so many different bios options and settings that can make or brake a good system and cause hours upon hours of frustration.

I struggled with ram timings as well.  Can't remember what is cas, trap, trc, trfc etc etc.  I need a cheat sheet that makes it easy to plug all the timings in to the bios.

  9. Pio I moved on from the ddr2 igpu and am onto the ddr3 igpu.  NO sense in pushing that one any more.  I need to figure the AM3 DDR3 stuff out and try to get a couple of better run on the ddr3 igpu before it's over.

  10. @The Pook yes I was using msi afterburner.  as of now I went so far as to change the ram divider to 1:2 which allowed me to change and lower the gpu ram speed in afterburner but any speeds over stock and the benchmark crashes.  yet another piece of software I have to learn in less than 12 hours if I can figure out nvidia  NVCP.  I'm assuming that stands for nvidia control panel?

  11. YW Avacado 🙂

This AM3 DDR3 rig is proving to be more difficult than the ddr2 AM2+ rig.  It scores better in 3DMark03 at stock settings but I am not able to overclock the gpu at all.  I think it has something to do with the HT link or dividers or something along those lines.  Looking into it now.  I need to learn all the bios settings like NB VDD etc etc.  Don't want to push voltages on things that are not required or could potentially damage a cpu, mobo Ram etc etc.

  12. This was officially my last run for DDR2 iGPU.  4583 3DMark03 points.  When I ran that my goal was to brake past 4600 points but it was not destined to happen on air.  I pushed the cpu to 1.40v and then tried two more runs but it kept rebooting.  So for now that's all the mustard this system has for that category.

Now to play with the DDR3 iGPU a little more to see if I can get a better score before the competition is over.

  13. 575 gpu clock net'd me 4207 3dmark03 points

I edited that submission and hope no pray I got it correct.

ok going to try another run of 600 gpu clock to see if 100mhz over clock on the Igpu 8200 is doable.  I'f I had more time i'd fart around with the system ram speed cause that would essentially effect the gpu ram speed since they are tied together from what I can see in all the screen shots

  14. Shoot the screenshot is missing the team 2022 background pic "slaps forehead" Duhhhh!  Let me go edit that after making another run.

Edit:  No one is around,  We are down to the wire and every one has pretty much moved on lol.  I just broke 4000 points by upping my gpu from 500 to 525.  That's with out a cpu overclock.  think I'll up the multi on this black form 15 to 16 and if it post see how that will help the score.

  15. Good catch Bones.  IDKW it is reporting like that.  I installed gpuz to only run from the app on the thumb drive vs installing it.  Probably not the issue as 3DMark03 has an issue reporting it as well.  maybe mobo drivers or something.  Not sure why it is happening.

Edit: Looking into it now.  Device manager reports no gpu drivers or it says Microsoft drivers so the driver install I performed yesterday did not take.  Downloading the 780a sli win 7 x64 drivers now.

Edit #2:  After reinstalling the drivers I was worried that it would not be the problem because when the drivers started installing I got the pop up window these files are already on your computer with the question replace yes or yes to all.  I hit yes to all and boom.  It worked like a charm.  Now lets see if the 3DMark03 scores are still the same lol.
