If you want to properly restore that card that you glued the fan back together on.....you CAN buy replacement fans for it. 😉

Buy and sell electronics, cars, fashion apparel, collectibles, sporting goods, digital cameras, baby items, coupons, and everything else on...

Just a generic search, but the Hawk Twin Frozr is just a 75mm fan, same as all of the ones listed in that search.  Depending on if yours are wired together or separately would determine which one to buy since you can buy a single fan or the pair.  Most are going to be coming from China though, so it'll be a few weeks wait. 🙂  If you wanted to restore it properly of course.

Thanks.  I'm happy with the repair.  I took my time and matched each blade individually back to where it had broken away from.  Then layed them out and lined the broken off blades in order to maintain proper placement.  Followed by the tedious task of gluing them back on one by one.  The last one was the most difficult because there was not much room left to operate.  I was going to post pics of the ram kits I finally found out in the garage but most of it won't be used in the competition so kind of off topic.

Edit:  The fans on this twin frozer are tied together into one plug.  That is a lot of fan options there on ebay btw 🙂 Good to know all those options are available.

Derbauer delidded it and brought temps down by 20c on all cores. It looks hella promising. He also said that his direct die frames are already in production. If I were to get AM5, I would totally delid. Which is crazy because AMD never gets delidded. Running a 24/7 OC of 5.6GHz seems doable now. Which is also crazy.

20 Deg C is pretty crazy just from removing the IHS.

It's pretty cool how he showed the 7700x's PCB ripping away from the rest of the chips etc.  Made me think he should or possibly could integrate some type of pressure system with a specialty type of material for a rubberized O-Rings that allows even pressure to be applied to the PCB to maintain placement while the IHS is being shifted back and forth to break the bond.  I hope that makes sense.  couple beers in and my mind starts getting goofy lol.

  3. I found all kinds of hardware today While looking for my OCZ Platnum DDR400 PC3200 and Crucial Ballistix DDR500 PC4000 ram.  I found all my other MSI Cyclone GTX 460 1GB GUP's 😕  Which would have come in handy the other day when I was gluing fan blades back on that hawk twin forozer LOL.  Oh well probably for the best because if I had found those before fixing the fan on the hawk I most likely would have just boxed it back up with the broken fan blades "N2 Hides with a palm to face"

Dood!  Awesome job with the SLI 460's!  Dont' get discouraged if Flux comes in and does runs, its all part of the game. 🙂  If his run is invalid, which it probably will be because its Flux...then yours will still stay anyway. :lachen:

Read the requirements on the Socket 939 CPU runs.  Requires an Athlon processor, NO Opterons.  I can't find my x2. -_-

I have the Opty 180 I bent the pins and straightened with the Credit card trick and the delided Athlon 3500+ if I can find it LOL.  It's out there some where in the garage O.o  I could always buy a chip but that's just wasting money LOL.

Nope. 1 Entry per member. Some categories require 2-4 total submissions per TEAM not per member.

Ok then I"m finally done with this GPU and can  pull it out and put it away LOL.

  6. Problem solved 🙂

My God, I had to jump through so many hoops just to get an entry ran and properly submitted.

1st talk with PIo about it, Then find a card after tearing my garage apart, then clean and card and break 5 blades off of one of the twin frozer fans, glue the fan blades back on and then the whole sli not working followed by HWBot Unigen Heaven Basic not working and then getting the run submitted.  N2 pat's him self on the back 🙂  Oh yeah and then after finding out after submitting it that it was not submitted to any team LOL....

I made you a quick video. Quality is still processing. See above post.

thank you for that.  I was able to get it figured out just before I posted then saw that you replied with a video on how to do it.

You can't type the full name in. You need to type a part of it and select the name as close as it is to your components that it gives you.

1st block just type Phenom and try to find it from the drop down cpus it lists.

2nd block just type GTX 460. The vendor and model are below it.

I was finally able to get it submitted.  Shwew wipes forhead.  Only took a million try's to get the format typed in correctly so the drop down would list my hardware.

    finally HWBot Validated my engry.jpg

The 290s have nothing to do with the SLI category. Those are in the AMD category. I just mentioned them as an example of how someone could come along and knock your score out. Most of the people here are participating in multiple categories with different hardware. I'm going to be coming after you with 460s. Mine are waterblocked like everything I own, but one is a mystery card I just bought on eBay. So if it's a total dud overclocker your score will still be the one that counts for the team.

Either way we're just doing this for fun.

HWBot does not like me 😞

I'm about to pull the FX+Crossfire 7970 combo off the bench and put a 2700k+460s back on. I don't have a run submitted yet because I'm waiting on an SLI bridge that fits. The one I tried breaking half the connectors off to fit surprisingly didn't work. 🤣

So by all means, keep tweaking and pushing your setup. If I get mine working I'll have to play catch up to see if I can run you down. It will be nice going up against someone with the same cards.

My poor 7970 run is going to get slaughtered when @tictoc shows up with those 290s

I've hit a wall at 2873 points and best I can get is with my GPU core clocks at 850MHz with stock Vram settings of 1800Mhz.  I think if the 290's make a run the 460's will fall off any way so yeah moot point after 490's are in play.

  12. I just saved that screen shot.  Need to figure out how to save the heaven score.  I overclocked the GPU core by 20Mhx LOL  Just baby steps to see what it can do before it freezes up.  Time to put the side of my case back on and see if I can do any better 😉

Edit:  Ok Let me go back and make a screen shot from clicking on that link to make it official 🙂  I'm wondering how much better my score can get???

  13. Are we allowed to run the HWBot Heaven Xtreme DX11?  Any time I try to use the Basic DX09 the Heaven app hangs and does the Not Responding thing.  I get better score with Xtreme DX11 too, go figure.

That was for the AM3+/ AMD GDDR5 benchcmarks.
Your 460's and whatever 4 core CPU you have will be for the nvidia 400 SLI series

Ok then let me get the software portion all straightened out so I can see about putting up some 460 SLI runs.

  15. I don't know what his score was but in regular heaven I get 1479 on the last time I ran it.  at all stock settings.  I'll have to see if I can get HWBot's heaven to work in Basic.  Not working for me atm for some lame reason 😕

Stupid question, but was it showing as 'SLI enabled' in nvidia control panel?
I had mine running pretty good on a 4770k with a bit of an overclock and it was loading both cards. If you need live help or whatever hop on discord, usually I'm there with @Avacado as much as we can so you can always ask questions there (and some other guys too). I hope you can get it working so you can battle it out with @Fluxmaven 😄

We need you @tictoc, you can check the spreadsheet in the OP for basic info and links to the benchmarks. I bet you know how it works 👊

    And that's a 1000 points

IT was the driver.  I had tried to oc the cpu to 3.5Ghz and fubar'd the bios to the point I had to pull the battery to do a really hard bios reset.  Got it back up and running at stock but once the bios reset it defaulted and I did not check every little setting.  So my theory on why sli was scoring so low is because after I reset the bios and got back into windows the os installed the hybrid sli driver for the onboard Nvidia card built into the mobo. MSI NF980-G65 So I had to go back into the bios, disable the setting for hybrid sli then install new drivers and then I saw both gpu's chugging along.  To get the the point where the HWBot heaven did not want to work for some reason.  I called it a night  and went fishing the following day.  Spent yesterday recovering from a get together with a couple of neighbors after fishing saturday evening and log in to discover what appears like the sli 460's won't be needed on my part.  Is that correct?
Try using full screen mode instead of windowed mode
I'll have to try that and see if it improves the score I was getting in Heaven.  Still have to figure out why HWBots's heaven software was not wanting to load up.  The basic is the one that would not work for some reason.
