That's really helpful !
...But in a way it is also 'disturbing', at least when it gets to comparing nice AM4 mobos with nice AM5. I have a couple of Asus CH8 X570, and the Asus CH8 Dark Hero in particular is superb from board to bios features. The closest thing in the AM5 670E costs about twice as much...never mind that the CH8 DarkHero itself is also $100 more than when I purchased it.
Yeah I was looking at boards last night and I was like uhhhhhhh he's really screwed on this dual LAN thing lol and now we see every option and how you really are. That proart X670E might really be your only option. Have to read up on if they solved whatever ram issues I saw a little about yesterday.
I'm more looking for more futureproofing so I wanted USB 4. That cuts it down to 8 boards. 4 under $500. I mean sheesh.

Nevermind this guy did it better than me.

Well so far...........not looking like you've got many options. Noticed it a lot yesterday on board names that used to be dual LAN and now they aren't anymore. I'm still working on the spreadsheet

Good & useful table - unfortunately, I need 2x LAN
You'll get 1 LAN and like it. lol
They all act like they need bios updates. Taichi's last official bios was october so I'm not sure what to think of that. Looking deeper the MSI Carbon and even the Hero is same story so maybe I shouldn't care.

Um. Don't ask.

Idk why I just thought of it, we should have a month long ehw stock market game. I know there's sites that do it just like f@h where we can all see each other and stuff. I only say that as I watch my investment go straight down lol

There we go. That was my real intent of the thread to just share the crap we're doing everyday lol. Always interesting seeing what things people got going on. Get to know each other more too.

Very nice pics. Way better than my front yard lol.

I have 0 use for more than 1 ethernet or more than one slot for GPU. Maybe the gene would be ideal. But I just saw even that is $450. Sick of these ridiculous prices on things that used to be $250.

Best idea so far this year.

I'll be nice and just simply say I am not a fan of the E core crap lol. I've been using my old 10900k for the past month. Thou shalt never take down the 10 "p" core beast. So glad AMD is sticking to the P core only route as well. Whatever Orion buys I'm gonna copy no pressure.

Need to be cold to keep those 7950x3d from overheating
Yeah this 5800x3d runs pretty damn hot for a freakin 4.3ish sustained gaming chip. I have a feeling these new ones won't run any higher GHz while gaming.

Do they not have heat where he works? Sheesh.
Hopefully these really are nice. The screwed up half and half crap could really go one way or the other. BUT IM EXCITED!

I'm really curious what you all think. 7950x3d.... expensive as hell..... But could you actually recoup in longevity. Pretty sure x299 people are still doing just fine. Just really makes me wonder if I could do some ultimate mora cooling conglomeration that is somewhat permanent and be content for a longgggg time. To me things are overbuilt anymore. With most of us on 1440p/144hz platforms that the 3000 gen Nvidias cater to with ample power. Just really has me curious if the processing power "need" has reached a stale point in time where a say, 20k r23 CPU will easily last another 5 years. But I wanna hear what you guys think.

Welcome!
I enjoyed the more in depth introduction. I grew up in rural Kansas so I have an appreciation for 4x4s and dirt bikes even though it's been a while since I've had either of them.
You've always had the coolest name I always thought it was a brand of some high tech computer hardware lol

My work in progress. I drilled through the wall and put the computer in the garage. Plan to wall mount the components and go back to my mora for extreme cooling since I can't hear anything in the garage. So weird restarting the computer and hearing no beep no nothing just hoping the monitor turns back on.
Oh I got a keychron wireless keyboard and wireless 502 lightspeed.

I think I accumulated 3 8700k's then went to 3 8600k's. Think they're allll gone now. Accumulated 10900k's. 12600k, 12700k. Got rid of those too. Cept the 10900k's. I um, have a secret love for them. Like a V10 M5.

From OCN..... Moved here to increase my homes resale.
I wouldn't say I have any real use for a computer worth more than $200. I play GTA Online every now and then (same username). I can play on my 3080ti or I can play on a 1030. I'm easy to please. I change hardware a lot simply because I like to see how it runs. How smooth it is. How things interact etc. Really liking the 5800x3d lately. RAM overclocking is witchcraft to me. I can slide some scales on afterburner. Mainly like CPU overclocking (so I bought an x3d ). I use a chromebook for 2015 (Toshiba Chromebook 2 lol) most of the time. Pathetic I know.
I ride dirt bikes. On the trails I take my 2006 ktm 300xc/w everywhere. Not sure how it still runs with the hell I put it through. 6 months ago I decided I needed a motocross bike for the tracks so I bought a 2017 honda crf450r which has been very fun.
For work I am a programmer for..............no. I actually build injection pumps/turbos/injectors for truck and tractor pullers. I run the 5 computers we have there. Mastercam, solidworks. The machinists do CNC stuff on 12 CNC lathes and mills. No idea how to do G-Code. I can machine manually so I get what I need done by hand
Oh I live in the middle of Missouri, smack dab middle. I have a degree in industrial electricity, wiring factories etc. Hated that line of work running conduit and pulling wire so yeah.

I just saw someone mention ram, I don't OC ram so I didn't care, and technically that board does meet my criteria too lol. But so does the B650E Taichi and for $369 that might be better. Plus 24 phases i mean the things a cheap beast.
