Exciting, but one can only assume this is across the Ryzen generations.

 

German publication Planet 3DNow! caught an interesting bit of information during a transmission of the "MSI Insider Show" on YouTube. Eric van Beurden, one of the show's moderators and Marketing Director at MSI, revealed that a new AMD microcode should arrive next month. It will reportedly bring over 100 different improvements for owners of AMD Ryzen CPUs, the site reported today.

I wonder why they pack this many improvements into one single firmware update, rather than try to be a bit more iterative and frequent so the enthusiasts can provide feedback where necessary. I realize that the important people are likely already on some sort of bleeding edge version, but we haven't heard anything about any of these updates from even the big YouTubers, other than what we can likely expect (such as proper clocking).

 

While AMD has been signaling some effort towards fixing the clocking issues that are present with the current firmwares (and they've been making good attempts, especially with the AGESA version ABBA), they haven't kept us very well up to date, and vendors have been slow in implementing these updates that have happened, so I think the users deserves some transparency as to what is being fixed.

I agree, their AGESA updates have been IMHO lacking. They were quick to jump on the recent clocking issues, for obvious reasons. That being said though, any other updates have been slow to come through to say the least. I have no had any issue with my TR CPU (2990WX) thus far so luckily I have little complaining to do, but I would love to see the full list of updates to see if they even apply to my product. Seeing the list would just be interesting regardless considering how many ''Improvements'' they have undertaken.
