And, now we know that AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3000 processors will be launching in November 2019. We don't know exactly how many Threadripper processors will be coming out in November or their specs, but we do at least know the HEDT platform will be premiering with 24 cores at the start.

 

There will surely be plenty of new information coming out about AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3000 chips over the next few months – so, be sure to keep this page bookmarked, and we'll keep it updated with all the latest Threadripper news.

While I am not upgrading to the 3rd gen as there is no real world need for me to, I think it will be shame if the rumor is true that Threadripper 3 will not support the current x399 platform.

So it seems that it is likely that TR3 will not compatible with the X399, well it has its day in the sun !

I figured as such. Especially given that the architecture is based on the Rome Chiplets, rather than the Zeppelin dyes of Gen1 and 2.

Yeah that is the nail in the coffin for X399, still love my MSI Meg Creation that is for sure.

Yeah I created the Bug thread for that board. The Asus Zenith Extreme. Now that board was fantastic (For TR1), it was a fantastic hardware set but it was massively held back by various annoying BIOS bugs which either stifled performance wise or just straight up stopped things from working such as Nvme RAID. Any time an update was released it generally just broke other functionality. Asus was not there interested in the platform in all honest and it was clear that the invested (HEAVILY) in to the Intel side of things. The BIOS from what I understand is better now but it should not have taken that long. Elmor's departure also did not help matters, he was the only one that ever really gave a darn about the board and the consumers.
