One 7950X 3D VCache to go, please...no need to wrap it...

...just what @Bastiaan_NL and many others have been waiting for, if this rumor turns out to be true.

Premium Platinum - Lifetime

Whohoo 😄
Those boot times are interesting though, might make overclocking a time consuming matter..
I hope the boards will have some good software to adjust memory timings, set the clock speed and cache latency once and the rest from within the OS to save a few days of tuning 🙈

....yeah, boot times during full memory training to check oc gives a new meaning to patience = virtue. Once set though, boot times should be more 'normal'. For sheer oc'ing re. clocks, the regular 7950X might be a better bet...but for GPU and some RAM related benches, that 7950X VCache (V95?) should be a no-brainer. One thing is for sure, though, BIG cooling will help even in daily trim, never mind HWBot trim, for both 7950X variants (with the 7950X VCache requiring the most).

I'm a bit conflicted re. upgrades - my 5950X setup already hits CineR23 > 32.4k and flies in most other things I throw at it - so I'm likely to wait until early 2023 before considering an upgrade build (7950X Vcache and/or Raptor Lake 13900); by that time, new platform bugs / bios should be worked out, and its secrets spilled. The 4090 Ti is another (earlier?) upgrade proposition, not that I actually need a faster GPU...if anything, I will first add the 4090 Ti to the current Ravens builds. I also think that AMD has s.th. up its sleeve, ie. a mGPU multi-core 7900 XTX, rumored to have > 24,000 cores, but appearing as a single GPU to the driver and Win 10/11. They probably release that one right around the 4090 Ti, may be a bit later.

As to 4090 Ti performance and comps to other AD and GA models, this has been making the rounds...
