Why does my screen go black after login Win11 local account & return to login screen at login?

Sounds like a damaged user profile to me. This is fairly common if something has damaged the profile, they are a pain to repair and it is generally easier and quicker to create a new user profile.

Thanks Im got it fixed by logging into the profile in safe mode which worked & changing something in the registry to these values.  I noticed the state was set to 0 on my Guest User profile & on my Administrator profile, it was 256.  I changed it to 0 & its working now.  Weird.

1. Navigate to the Profile List:
   • Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList.

Modify the State and RefCount Values:

• Set the State and RefCount values to 0

That is really weird. Did you install Windows updates recently?

Yes sir but mainly i flashed ch341a, custom advanced modded bios and some of the settings cause issues.

Makes sense, there is usually an event of some sort that makes Windows get a little screwy, I doubt it was to do with a modded BIOS, I only say that as I have never personally seen it, I have however seen Windows updates cause profile issues along with machine ID's changing which can create a nightmare for licensing activation with some programmes.
