Well, this is a pretty wild rumor, and before you jump to conclusions, it is essential to take this news with a grain of salt, considering that AMD entering the smartphone market is a significant development.

The rumor comes from Smartphone Magazine (via Yahoo Finance), which claims that AMD is now setting its sights on the mobile industry and will allegedly introduce "APU-like" Ryzen AI SoCs into the industry, competing head-to-head with the likes of Qualcomm and MediaTek, who are in the pursuit of establishing grounds in the PC markets.

AMD is rumored to enter the "smartphone markets" and is already in talks with integrators to have its "Ryzen AI" mobile SoCs in smartphones.

I always buy the latest Samsung smartphones as that's usually what works best for me (though Pixels are always on my radar). Would be interesting to see what an AMD powered smartphone might look like. Bring on the Extreme smartphone cooling!

It definitely seems possible, but I can't find any evidence that "Smartphone Magazine" is a real source. The article says that Smartphone Magazine is a "tech website" and not an actual magazine in 2024, but I can't find any evidence that it actually exists online.

Yeah, I remember reading something a while back about this but, I'm not super confident on the source either tbh.
