lighting, eh. i'd like to know where i can get some of that black mayo. mine always turns runny grayish green brown like clumped up snot on a bad day before it ever gets black.

important note: also see: snot1, snot2

oh, and btw, bon appettite 😋

I don't recommend it. It's double the price of regular mayonnaise and is barely any different. Make your own black garlic mayonnaise if you want some. This one has a hint of garlic flavour but other than that, it's normal mayonnaise with a ton of food dye in.

I love mayo, but would definitely not buy this lol. Speaking of mayo and seeing the packaging, I also am just not a fan of the squeeze bottle versions. We always buy a jar because at least you can use a small spatula to get the last of it out. Always feel like a bunch gets wasted with the squeeze bottles at the end.

Took some extra days off to extend holidays. I tried to make pork belly for the first time today. The dish, not sure if authentic, is Banh Mi. A Vietnamese style street food sandwich. I follow the recipe here (as I normally do) but subbed out making a fresh bun by grabbing a portuguese style bun from a local bakery and I did a different pickled veg option (only carrots).

 https://www.brianlagerstrom.com/recipes/bahn-mi-with-crispy-baguette

Turned out better than I expected. Highly recommend giving it a go. Pork Belly was about 4 USD a Lb.

Got this meat lover's monstrosity from an american chain store called papa murphy's - on tuesday these giant pizzas are just $12. I usually get one of these and eat until I'm full for dinner that night, then separate the remaining into two ziploc bags and that's my lunch and dinner for the following day. Two days worth of meals for $12 is hard to beat.

PXL_20240110_003104124.thumb.jpg.ae601789a60aa081ad65baff5e32ca32.jpg

Sliced it up and added some parmesan on top.

@The Pook is right. Somehow everything is upside down in this picture.

It was pretty darn good. I've been going there on and off now on tuesdays for probably 6 months. I like that they don't skimp on the toppings and if anything the pizza is overloaded a little 😄.

Also, the upside down image is a thing. Sort of the idea that most people don't pay much attention to the image and it's a little unusual for somebody to notice the change.

The bacon is from Australia, I think it was messing with my cameras accelerometer.

Good food photography is clearly underrated. Can't knock your friends and family for it anymore unless their side dishes also appear upside down. 😆

I forgot to put this in here the other day. I made some hot chocolate.

Someone told me it looks like there's mold in there, but I can assure you it's not, it's the seasoning.

Made spaghetti for sunday. Also because why not. I'm an adult and can do things like that :hair_beard:

Made up a plate

PXL_20240219_000846967.jpg?ex=65e51121&i

It's a bit more watery than I typically serve only because it smelled so good I couldn't keep waiting for the sauce to cook down and thicken any longer. Pretty darn good though!
