Hello all,

 

Welcome to the ExtremeHW Folding Competition, December 23rd - 25th, Midnight UTC.

 

Countdown to Event

 

In the spirit of folding for the cause and good old friendly competition between members, we are hosting another folding competition. For more details please see below.

 

How to participate:

• During the competition you must be folding for Team 239902
• You must post in this thread with "IN" followed by your folding username.

 

Prizes:

• $25 USD PayPal (axipher)
• 1x CH510 Coolermaster Cupholder (ENTERPRISE)

 

Folding Time Prizes:

• 1 Week of Cerberus' 1080ti for around 2.3M PPD (Cerberus)

 

 

All "Folding Time" prizes will require your username/passkey to be given to the donator, this will not give them any of your personal information, it just let's them be able to contribute full points to your username.  Passkeys need at least 10 full Work Units to start getting the full Quick Return Bonus.  Alternatively, you could setup another passkey for your Folding@Home username with a different email address and fold your first 10 units on that.  This would still put the points towards your username, but they would also be tracked by a different passkey.

 

Please note all winners must claim within 30 days from announcement of the winners.

Switched the PSU on the main rig, no time to put the 5 months old one from the main in the second system though (I think it needs some rest after 10 years lol).

Nah, I'm some random person on the internet and I claim that power supplies will last much longer when they are constantly being used, just not at full load...

I totally agree with you on that one, but I have some reasons to believe that there is something wrong with the PSU in there (mentioned in the Team thread).

Swapped rigs back over to EHW, but I don't think I'll do a 2080 Ti week prize since I'll be pretty inconsistent for the next couple weeks.

Looking at the current stats last night and then again this morning I feel like that young kid in a sports car who gets passed 2 seconds after the race starts and now can barely see the F1 McLaren and Bugatti Chiron in the distance, but still feels decent because at least I'm still here with the Hondas and Mustangs...

truth be told, I could run FAH on 3 more PCs here, but none of them are good number crunchers... in fact, one would likely take 3 days to get the first work unit done lol... Honestly I'm just impressed with the points a couple people here are racking up.  It's fun to have a little competition for a good cause like this... and now that the cold front made it through, temps in this room have dropped to about 16C so I upped the power limits... 100w on CPU and 200w on the GPU... well actually the GPU is basically unlimited, but it's only hitting 200w.

200w is the same my 5700xt's did. Though I never overclocked them or anything, I've never seen them go beyond 205w.

It would be fun if I only received 149xx units, they do a little better than the 13438 units.

I could use 3 or 4 laptops but that would only be a delay for the science of F@H instead of helping them

It's better to run some efficient hardware, like you are doing right now.
