  1. Haha nah, it only strengthened my bond with the moderation team at HWBot because of all the chats we had about it
  2. Thanks for the kind words guys. It wasn't an easy decision but I need a new challenge to keep growing in this hobby. I found some great friends here some of which I've seen several times in person and I know we'll meet again soon. Thanks for the good times and
  3. Ha, I actually had to search for some of the hardware. Some of the competition stages are interesting, I look forward to see what we can do together
  4. Hey everyone, soon the 2024 HWBot Team Cup will start again. If you feel like helping the EHW team with a few benchmarks and you haven't signed up already, make sure to DM me! We can talk about what hardware we are still looking for and I can add you to the spreadsheet. Feel free to discuss the competition, rules and other related subjects here but know that the other teams are always lurking in the shadows
  5. Always trying to get one of the stickers in the picture
  6. Nice Pretty happy with a PB for a foldathon! All systems are finishing now, time to cool down..
  7. 2006 was before my time. I started somewhere in 09 for OCN and had a bit less units for 2bil compared to 8bil for EHW. Living at my parents place at the time, running bigadv units on i7's which was almost better than running gpu's (I still had 6 of them online). I don't remember the actual PPD, I think a bigadv unit was somewhere over 100k points and took a little over a day. @zodac was the one who dragged me into folding, good times. Also, 5 GPU's online atm: (I even had to use a full system as a cooling tower for the bench as I stole the bench rad for the one on the pool table )
  8. Good times! I remember having 6 GPU's folding on the X299 Sage board and a few spread over different systems. A lot of heat and a big powerbill, even with the lower electricity price at the time. But remember, always look at how many units someone folded and not only at the points. I can't compare with some of the OG's who had hardware online for 15 years. The current generation of hardware is just silly, 30mil points on a single GPU was what took us weeks back in '10.. Anyways, I gotta get some hardware together for another system as I need to beat @Avacado
  9. Linux is king, but I'm just running on W10 (existing installs) for a quick FAT. I'm not even sure how the conversation went, but @firedflymentioned the FAT so why not. I slowed down my folding output two years ago and the last card folding was taken offline around 1.5 years ago. The power is too expensive
  10. For now I have a 4090, 3090 and a 3070Ti online. The bottom card shown in the picture (2080Ti) is running like sh..., so sadly will be taken down.
  11. Ha, at least not me. I'm putting together hardware as we speak Get well soon
  12. In Bastiaan_NL I'll try to drop a few work units, if I don't fry any cables between my PSU and the 4090 If only I could get all my 20-40 gen cards to run in time....
  13. Disclaimer: This was posted from my phone while being drunk and not in my native language
  14. Thanks Fox, it was a real good time! And yeah, it's real cool stuff! I can't wait to start playing with LN2... For now -102°C is the most extreme I've done
  15. A 'little' update: Friday I received some dry ice again to run hardware subzero for fun, and for the Country Cup. As the first victim, we had the RX5700XT again for Unigine Superposition 1080P Extreme which was limited to RDNA 1.0. Why am I saying we? Because @server075 and @kaliz were on stream almost all the time, supporting me with all the info I needed, taking screenshots from the stream and keeping me motivated (all the way through the night). Thanks again boys, good times! Lucky for me, the card was already in 'cold trim' and had some additional mods to help her do a little better. Sadly I didn't get my flexible heaters in time, which are needed instead of a normal heater because I moved a few capacitors to the back of the PCB to make clearance for the GPU pot. Anyways, here are some pictures and the result (one of them ) /img/logo.png Bastiaan_NL`s Unigine Superposition - 1080P Xtreme score: 6363 points with a Radeon RX 5700 XT HWBOT.ORG The Radeon RX 5700 XT @ 2450/1825MHzscores getScoreFormatted in the Unigine Superposition - 1080P Xtreme benchmark. Bastiaan_NLranks #null worldwide and #1 in the hardware class. Find... I added more insulation to the back of the card to reduce the risk of it causing shorts. Up and running, testing Superposition: And one of the screenshots from @server075: Onto the next subject, an AMD 4300G. This one was the most fun we had, as it ran full pot (constant -76°C) for almost 5 hours until I decided to quit. The hardware itself was totally happy, besides the ASRock x570 Taichi being a bit weird with a lot of missing settings. The main reason for choosing this hardware is that this was a fitting CPU for another part of the Country Cup. The setup, figuring out some settings on the fly as it was a sort of last minute decision to switch and prep this board. /img/logo.png Bastiaan_NL`s 3DMark - Time Spy Extreme (CPU) score: 2906 marks with a Ryzen 3 4300G HWBOT.ORG The Ryzen 3 4300G @ 5100MHzscores getScoreFormatted in the 3DMark - Time Spy Extreme (CPU) benchmark. Bastiaan_NLranks #19 worldwide and #1 in the hardware class. Find out more at HWBOT. Due to the mass of the pot, and the minimal dissipated heat from a cute 4 core CPU it would run just fine without any dry ice in the pot. It would only heat up about one degree with the benchmark running at any subzero temperature we tested, and because it was totally new to me we did steps of about 10 degrees. Starting at -20°C all the way to hours of full pot fun. And this is what it looks like after many hours of benching: For the final kilo's of dry ice I decided to ask @L0wPull if I could sacrifice the ASUS B650E-I Gaming Wifi motherboard that I bought from him for a prior competition with the 'guarantee' of him buying it back soon after. He told me to go for it, but I would have to keep it... Why not? The CPU for this one was an AMD 7700X and a kit of G.Skill A-Die, with some pretty good results! /img/logo.png Bastiaan_NL`s GPUPI for CPU - 1B score: 39sec 746ms with a Ryzen 7 7700X HWBOT.ORG The Ryzen 7 7700X @ 6350.1MHzscores getScoreFormatted in the GPUPI for CPU - 1B benchmark. Bastiaan_NLranks #5 worldwide and #5 in the hardware class. Find out more at HWBOT. Preparation of the hardware: Cooled down: After a few hours of fun: I just love it how this MASSIVE Kingpin Trex Rev 3 makes the board almost dissapear. With the pretty GT1030 from Galax which @L0wPull found for me it's one of the funniest looking bench setups I had so far. If you made it to this point, I thank you for your interest Also thanks to all the guys who took the time to join the stream for a little entertainment, you know who you are. Love you all!
  16. Oh nice, you bought a 5th one for me? Yes, I modded 2 cards so far. On the ASUS DCII it's easy to solder an EVC2 onto the controller. Sadly mine is a turd and clocks like sh.. The controller is 7mm wide The Gainward, which I used for my current subs, has one of the worst controllers. OVP kicks in at 1.2v so I only have 1.199v to play with. It still did 1170mhz at that voltage at 30°C. Now I could try a VID mod, which is basically moving resistors between a high or low position. Each position is either a 0 or 1 which makes up the binary number for the final voltage. I've never done that and I'm not sure if I'm capable.. Since those subs I added a few caps to see if that helps my clocks a bit. Caps, measure points and 2x feedback mod. As for the Gigabyte SOC, I didn't test that one yet besides on air (1070mhz). I'll try to get to that today if I feel like it. The pcb looks solid The 4th one is not here yet, the person taking care of that is sick at home (as is the whole world around me as it seems like, including me..) That should be the Zotac AMP! Edition. Update from the middle man:
  17. Oh yeah, my bad. I'm confused with all the guys receiving Ti's
  18. Well, a 560Ti isn't a bad thing to own. It just sucks that it's so hard to find the correct card. I always double check the pictures for stickers and other info, compare the PCB to the TecgPowerUp PCB pictures and if I'm not sure I'll request more info or proof. Anyways, have fun with the card. I hope you'll find a GTX560 to play with. On another note, I drilled holes in an RTX30 series bracket to fit the 51x61 hole spacing on the GTX560:
  19. You should've seen the Cheapaz discord channel, at least half of the guys got Ti's advertised as GTX 560's It sucks though...
  20. In for the win, but most of all to have some fun Currently in possession: Gainward GTX560 GS ASUS GTX560 DCII OC On the way: Gigabyte GTX560 SOC Zotac GTX560 AMP! Edition Want to buy: ASUS GTX560 DCII Top Sparkle Calibre GTX560 DF EVGA GTX560 FTW+ Why? Gotta Catch 'Em All
  21. It didn't make it due to 3 other subs being higher. @Sir Beregondposted his sub after you and knocked yours out
  22. A big thank you to everyone who helped us, whether it was a single submission or the goal of benching for each individual stage. It for sure gives me a warm feeling to see you all come together and help out where possible. As for our result, it was so cool seeing us in the top 3 for 55 days out of 60, being in first for some time, fighting back a few times to take back a spot and so on! Thanks again, and see you next time I like that idea I'll dm you the list within an hour. I need to look through all our subs but I'm pretty sure the spreadsheet is accurate. I just came home, will get it sorted
  23. Nah, it's just the classy being a * (seriously can't even say b.tch ) When I was over there I couldn't get anything done with that board. The CPU's were good for 8000+ mem and we couldn't get them to run 7000 with loose timings.
  24. Sorry, not with this heat over here... The cascade produces about 1200w of heat, no way I can keep the room temp below 35°C I'm not at home during the week, same for last week and the next 3 so it's only in the weekends that I have some time. I was hoping to use the cascade on the 4300g but it is what it is.. (it would benefit us more if each stage is filled rather than having the number one spot)
  25. With 4 days and 22 hours remaining we are in 5th place with 1459 points. We have 85 out of 99 submissions, which is impressive! We are still missing a few pieces of the puzzle though, so if anyone feels like benching some hardware the coming days...
