  1. Bring back the LN2 hardware J! We need to see the frozen pots on record breaking hardware
  2. Oh, I thought it was you pretending to work on that hardware Thanks, Oliver was very good with Plexi(or whatever it was made of). I had the idea in my head for some time, so we decided to give it a try for a competition. Sadly they valued a few modifications on an existing case more than a custom build, so we didn't win anything besides the payout from the insurance. As far as the Gold OCZ goes, I don't own it anymore otherwise I could have some fun with it. I was stupid or smart enough to sell most of my hardware at the time, and now I regret not having most of that cool stuff anymore. On the other hand, I didn't have room to store it at the time and my mom would have killed me if I kept everything This is what I always say when I'm playing with older hardware, how responsive it feels and how good it usually works (also with Windows 7 installed).
  3. So I decided to take a look on one of my old backup drives and I had so much fun looking through the stuff I found there! For instance, a folder filled with overclocking software and benchmarks from around 2009 Sorry for photodumping here, but man these were good times! Living at my parents place, playing with (still cheap) hardware... This was the first computer I bought myself, with an Athlon X2 5600+ and a 8600GT. In this picture I already upgraded to a 9600GT though. One might think that my hobby escalated the past year or two, but I was the same 15 years ago Folding at home around 2009, trying to keep temps in check during the summer: And another system running folding@home, or maybe benchmarks at this point... My first voltmodded card, an EVGA GTS250 done by CL3P20 from OCN: My second voltmodded card, a GTX275 done by CL3P20 from OCN. Usually ran this one at stock voltage, besides a few benchmarks I did. And one of the cases I regret selling, a CoolerMaster ATCS840. One of the coolest builds, a custom case made by Oliver and me. The idea came from me, he did the Plexi cutting etc and shipped it to me. There was some damage and we got a full refund from the shipping company, as we insured it for 1k worth because of all the work put into it
  4. Haha no, this is the board with the messed up socket and a Dutch overclocker fixed it
  5. I'm still waiting for the moment you put that cool stuff to good use again bud, even if it's just for fun and not submitting the results Also, I recieved a message that gave me the chills (in a very positive way):
  6. A copper pot without LN2, maybe a bit because it has more surface area. A copper pot with LN2? Well, as long as you can fill it fast enough, the socket heater can keep the back of the board warm enough and you have everything covered in vaseline or liquid tape...
  7. It will heat up and stay warm for a long time, it won't dissipate the thermal energy to the surrounding air fast enough. Maybe useful if you've got cold feet, take it with you in bed to keep you warm Instead I'd machine a nice big hole from the top to the bottom through that copper bar and make it into an LN2 pot
  8. This is my reality, buying more GPU's than I go out for groceries
  9. I really enjoyed my 3080Ti, it was in my main system for a long time and after that I sold it to a friend who's now using it in his main system. No shame in buying used products either, I do it all the time! So have fun with that card
  10. I heard that rumor too, and if that's true it would be very bad.. 8p = good points and a lot of fun on the bot, and for the main I'd stick with the 13900k(s/f).
  11. I agree with all of the above If, for some reason, it ends up being a crazy good performer for globals I might pull the trigger and get one of them. I just don't want to buy another motherboard..
  12. Not really tempted for now, but I bet it's gonna be a good chip! Investing in an AM5 montherboard and a CPU to go with it will set me back at least €1600 ish, maybe even more depending on how they inflate the price in Europe. And as far as the 7800X3D goes, for 250 less it'll be a fun one for gamers for sure.
  13. That card went to my brother and withhout watercooling it might be a bit dangerous
  14. Those inno3d cards are 450w anyways, nothing to worry about
  15. Haha, the addiction is real
  16. That's right, I do look around for errors in subs and reports though. But usually our submissions are pretty decent compared to the rest of the hwbot community
  17. I was just about to check it out, good thing @Avacado is at work so he can do all kinds of stuff for the forums
  18. @server075 grabbed first place in the Novice league. He's been working hard the past few months collecting hardware, improving his overclocking skills and figuring out better cooling solutions for his hardware. We've been on stream together a lot, usually he has to listen to my rants about stuff that isn't working or cards I've blown up, but in the mean time he improved his results over and over again. Congrats Michael, now keep that gold until you move to the Enthusiast league!
  19. That's a pretty cool and original design!
  20. I never liked any of you guys, I just came here to copy @Avacado... Just kidding, you all
  21. Both Jan and I also boosted the server to level 1 before, not sure if that can still be revoked.
  22. Stealing my gold.... Great work though, the 29 threads tweak helped a lot!! Also, thanks for the Eso software. That'll make my life easy (combined with Appbuster and cleaning most garbage from the OS myself) Now most of us don't have a dedicated benchmark system/os (or multiple) so this is not for everyone, but I run my bench system without internet connection anyways and have about everything deleted/turned off. As for my main, let's say that @J7SC_Orion's taskmanager looks clean compared to this one
  23. I've seen those @J7SC_Orion and enjoyed every second of it. Crazy result to finally beat that long standing FX8370 result and finally getting into the 9ghz range. Now those chips are crazy fun anyways, cause we are finally able to bench up to 6.5ghz on water cooling which is something I wouldn't believe if you told me a few months ago.
