Cmon EVGA we need Evga Sr-2 Reborn 2.8k-10k per cpu Wonder if game will ever utilise that much core. It like gpu the more core you have the higher resolution you need to benefit from it. Those cpu are only good for entreprise use or game server.

My game having issue is Beam NG that the only game in the world that the core count and singlethread really matter haha Got 20fps in 4k high or ultra with the 6800xt but over 60 with my i5 8300h and my old xeon e5 2697 v2 And arma 3 and Wow are ways smoother too. Arma 3 only use 1 thread. Will get Piledriver for sure my first ever build was a M5a99Fx Pro r2.0 with a fx 6300 then upgraded to a 4790k that could do 4.9 at 1.4v. Miss my 4790k. 8300 are like 60 buck on Aliexpress Never overclocked those old ddr2 cpu could be fun. Did unlock a sempron to dual core and one athlon to triple core for fun on a am3+ Gigabyte motherboard

Will report back how it got. It only boosting to 3.5ghz currently on the stock cooler so if i reach 5.0 it almost 50% overclock Think am gonna order some old fx 4000 and athlon sempron for some fun.

1.59 on a d15 well at what temp do they catch fire Currently running my 6800xt on win 10 and the fx6100 gonna push that thing sundays. Then swap to the 12700k Most of my game lagg bad with even a 8350 at 4.4

Just wondering what would be max for benchmarking on a nh d15. Got a m5a99 evo gonna cool the vrm on the back and front and just try to see what it can do with a 6800xt Doest matter if it die!

Yes kinda got out of my budget but aint gonna upgrade for a long time haha. 6800 was 1400$ 1600$ for the 6800xt Already had the ram around and was unable to sell it. So nh d15 and 12700k was the best option for me. Could not really afford going for a 420mm cooler and a 12900k Got all the part home except cooler and motherboard should be here mondays Yea the 12700k is impressive. If the 5900x/5950x had pcie 5.0 i would have gotten that. Integer performance is higher on amd side.

Ended up going with a weaker cpu for a better gpu 6800xt and 12700k Really wanted pcie 5.0 too After looking at benchmark of the i3 12100f 4core 8 thread almost beating a 5600x in gaming i decided to go for the IPC.

5.3 would be great but with a 360mm or 420mm aio cooler needed probably. They can run at 1.45v? havent overclocked intel since haswell. But that kinda sad these days the higher clock get the lower % of performance you get overclocking. 3ghz cpu to 4ghz is like 30% But 4.8 to 5.3 is like 10% Overclocking is dead somewhat haha 5950x seem like the best bet. I wonder if amd could optimise it further!

Most no brand motherboard dont support overclocking. Well my x79 micro and full atx from aliexpress did not. Had a e5 2697 v2 12 core on them.

Saw those on ebay a few time. You can custom build a micro atx dual cpu x79 too. I miss my 5700xt sold it for like 300$ cad then with covid they are now 1300$ used

Just wondering what you think would be best. Folding and gaming at 4k 120hz aint got any gpu now that gonna push that but maybe in two years Both on a NH D15. Really think the 12900k will run ways too hot?

I wanted to fold for stability and see if it has any defect. My dell g3 had a cracked gpu die from factory and would run for hour stable and end up freezing. The only ways i knew was running fah to test. Ran the laptop for a years like that before rmaing and got a new motherboard working stable. I would not fold with a high tdp laptop at full clock for sure like half clock or half TDP for safety. Just saw that i can get 2 years warantly free from buying from a reseller here. Maybe will get another one to see. Should die before 2 years and get rmaed if it badly designed haha. Or i will make a micro atx z690 / 12700k-12900k build but wonder how am gonna fit a nhd15 and a 3070-6800 in that space.

Yea mxm the area 51m was the future dell said then they killed it and mxm died at the same time. Building a desktop with a 5800x or 12700k is more expensive with a 3060ti than the laptop . And i may start traveling alot for work that why i was looking for a laptop. Damn covid.

Only time heat kill component in short lifespan. Was back when moron where overclocking fx cpu on msi motherboard without vrm probe. They would catch fire. Or amd cpu overheating. Had a gts 250 with vrm in the 130+ celsius folding for like 5 month straight. And my 7950/7970 r9 290 where all at 100-120c. High end Motherboard solid cap are rated 12k hour at 105c. I wonder how are laptop component rated? Am mostly worried about the liquid metal. That picture from owner on discord and forum That true but that asus is thicker than average gaming laptop. Those razer and msi slim edition are garbage somewhat but they are heavilly tdp throttled so reliability is not an issue that much. I miss those big alienware and msi. Temp seemed fine. My dell g3 with 1050ti as being folding at 80c-90c for the past 3 month ahah. Upgraded the psu from 130w to a 240w since the battery was dropping on heavy use. Had a desktop motherboard hit 145 celcius on the vrm and a gpu that hit 150c and both of those lasted year after those high temp. And miner are using laptop these days too. They refunded me the laptop they got none in stock at Canada Computer and they think the cpu died. Asus using liquid metal with those laptop and that cause many laptop to die. If the laptop died running furmark i would understand but fah for one days? Some of my game in 4k and or vr use more power than f@h. Now am out of computer need to reinstall windows on my g3 and figure out what am gonna do

Wondering if many people had experience with gaming laptop dying? My first dell had a bad motherboard from purchase and would freeze after 3+ h of gaming. Was rmaed and work fine now And now just got myself a brand new Asus Strix G15 Adavantage Edition and the thing ran great! Then i ran folding@home on the gpu only for stability. 16h later black screen keyboard rgb on. Restart laptop and nothing rgb and fan work but hdmi output and screen show nothing. Gonna return it tomorrow and try to get another one... Are laptop that crappy these days?

The only mining that could survive global ban are the Folding@home and Boinc and other project based one. Only because the energy used is to help non profit organisation. I wonder what gonna happen in the future month with covid and bitcoin value. A global ban should have happened a long time ago.

Haha kid love that game! Il report back when i stop working 7/7 days a week mostly on ark survival and wow these days. Arma 3 sometime. Rigs of rods community is still alive making update!
